I started out attending private classes with Sharon mid-pandemic and eventually progressed to group classes. Now my weekly favorites are tower class with Sharon and barre class with Andrea. You really get the feeling that teaching is their calling and they love what they do. They have a way of making "hard work" fun and really can read - and if necessary - adjust your posture or poses to maximize the impact on a muscle group. It's almost like Sharon has a sixth sense for those things! Any time I go to a class it boosts my energy and spirits -- and any time I miss a class, I feel like there's been a loss to my general well being. I can feel my body changing and strengthening for the better each week and I'm truly glad that I made the choice to join the Pilates-Barre studio!

If you want to get some moderate weight training then they got in. If you want to do a little bit of cross training then they got it. But if you want to get some REAL weight training in, then avoid this place. I came to Club 24 from the Edge in Danbury as 24 is a lot closer from Ridgefield than the edge. I walked in and all I see is treadmills (bad news for a weightlifter) I find the "weight room" and walk over to the dumbbells and the heaviest one they have is 75lb! I don't understand how such a large gym franchise can't put in one more weight rack with heavier weights! They only have 2 squat racks and one smith machine, their equipment is obviously used and recycled from another gym (although it's not that big of an issue as you pay less than $20 a month) but I just don't get how they have about 60 cardio machines, massaging chairs, a treadmill movie theater but still Only have the heaviest dumbbell at 75lb

Since this was written about his NEW location I decided to copy and paste and share it here for all to see! I just finished taking my second class at Basil's new studio in Ridgefield, CT. (Which is GORGEOUS and filled with LOVE!) As always his class was AMAZING! I stumbled upon Basil Yoga in the fall of 2010 when he was located in North Salem, NY - his studio was just a few minutes from my home in Ridgefield. I drove by it quite often and one day I decided to stop in and take a class. That first experience was life changing... Before that I had only taken yoga at a fitness center and one other yoga place in Ridgefield (which was very unwelcoming and militaristic) So when I took my first class at Basil Yoga I was blown away. I didn't know that there was more to yoga than just a good work out! Let me just say that Basil changed my life. His teaching are profound. Not only do you get an amazing yoga workout, but the yoga philosophies, that he weaves into his teachings, are extremely helpful and always seem to be exactly what I need to hear that day. I love that he combines the whole body, mind and spirit in all of his teachings. With the new studio he is offering 50+ classes! So there is defiantly something for everyone. Also, I can't say enough good things about his instructors (Alicia, Bryn, Mike, & Theresa)!!! I love them all - they each bring their own magic to each of their classes. The hardest part is deciding which one to take, because I want to take them all. Also, Christine, at the front is so welcoming and helpful. If you every need anything she is at the ready to help and guide you to the perfect solution. I can't recommend Basil Yoga more highly, not only is it my yoga studio, but it's also my spiritual sanctuary, where the community is strong and the yoga traditions are alive and well!
