AMAZING and FREE class! Your first class is free so signup online…read more I loved my first class at Pure Barre. I visited on Wednesday, 8 May 2019 with fellow Yelper, Leslie N. I've taken barre classes before in the past but it has been a while since I took one so I couldn't wait to lift and tone my body. CLASS -- The instructor was awesome. I can't remember her name but I think it was Becky. She started off class with a quick 5-min warmup, a 45 min class, and then a 10-min cool down. The class consisted of small movements which are effective to strengthen the core and lengthen the body. We did pushups, held planks, used weights, and then used the bar (a wood rod thing) to do leg lifts and a type of squat exercise that ballerina's do. You don't have to be a fitness pro or super fit to attend the class. I normally prefer high-intensity classes that incorporate weights and cardio but barre was a nice change. It is a good option for cross-training. The class is meant for all levels so for example, if you don't want to pick up weights then you don't have to use it. SERVICE -- I felt welcomed at this studio and the front desk staff member was friendly. Since my friend and I were new, after class, the front desk person explained the membership options to us. It is about $69 a month for 4 classes which is not within my budget right now. One class is $25. I recommend Pure Barre Rocky River studio or any of their locations. This is an exercise class that you can manage and isn't too strenuous. When I arrived I was greeted by a friendly face and was explained how everything would happen in the class! I was nervous to come alone but even the people taking the class welcomed me and made sure I was comfortable. Great New Fitness Facility in Rocky River…read more The $49 2 week trial membership was definitely an enticement to get me back in workout mode. Paragon specializes in personal training. This is not a walk in facility. Appointments are necessary. One on one sessions are customized to your own levels and abilities. The Owner Adam is caring and has created an environment where anyone with anxiety about being out of shape can be set at ease. When you schedule a one on one session Adam will determine your needs and then he will create a workout plan for you. Both Adam and his other trainer Will are Extremely knowledgeable. They both go out of their way to ensure they modify the session if you develop any pain or issues mid work out. I feel like I am in good hands and they offer suggestions to keep you moving even when you are not in a session. The facility is clean and very nice and accommodating. I highly recommend giving them a try if you want or need to get back in shape. They also offer Yoga sessions on site.

It has an almost "brighter" feel with this name, and I love it! Sunaya is located in Rocky River right on the border of Lakewood and Rocky River. It's pretty easily accessible off the main drag off Clifton, so you can get there without too much trouble. Its located inside a strip mall with ample free parking in a shared private lot. I hadn't attended a class here since pre-pandemic but it was still a solid experience. I attended Monique's slow flow class. Upon arrival, she had all the supportive props set up at every spot, which was so nice! I appreciated that these were set-up already, as it allowed for everyone to be spaced out appropriately during the pandemic (if you're a yogi, you know sometimes people do not respect space when a lot of people sign-up for a class). However, these classes are small by design, which automatically helps. Happy to be back at the new Sunaya Studios!

Two minutes after I walked in, they told me I was standing wrong. And seriously, how bad could I…read morebe? I'd been standing for years and had very rarely fallen over. What was wrong with my standing? Well, as it turns out, the back pains I had were caused by that standing. Which meant I wasn't sleeping as well at night. Which meant I was drinking caffeine to try to stay awake, and it all cascaded to affect my overall health. I was expecting, you know, massive weights and running 'til I puked. But they gave me tiny weights, realigning my body, grueling workouts that strengthened muscles I didn't even know I'd had because I was so unaware of my body - which I viewed as a carrying case for my head - that I didn't realize what had atrophied. And Fitness Evolution worked with me and my wife to create customized exercises that always pushed us but never broke us - which was critical when my wife broke her hand ziplining, and they had to spend weeks jerry-rigging exercises that worked around her injury. I've been doing this for a year now. And I'm not a skinny person, mainly because if you read my other Yelp reviews you'll see they're all about drinking and desserts, and honestly, I've cut that down but to be truly ripped I'd have to give all that up. But my back doesn't hurt on long airline flights. I sleep well, for eight hours. My body has strength in places I never knew it could have strength before. And now, when I look in the mirror, I see how I was standing wrong. I see all the ways Fitness Evolution adjusted me, one session at a time, to give me better flexibility and health. They helped me. It ain't cheap. But when I consider all the doctors' bills I'm gonna save from my body not degrading down the line, I'm callin' this a bargain.

Sacred Hour Yoga is owned by the same owner of Sacred Hour spa as well as a local yoga teacher Jessie. This is a one-room studio. The interior is absolutely beautiful, with the most stunning and oddly soft hardwood floors you've ever seen. Owner Jessie also owns Cleveland Hardwood Restoration and has truly put immense effort into making this space beautiful and inviting. The minute you walk in, you feel relaxed and at-home. This studio requires you to pre-register online as drop-ins are not a thing here. They have a full slate of weekly classes ranging from power vinyasa to restorative and class package options available. Their online scheduling is a breeze to pay by credit card. Sacred Hour Yoga is a truly welcoming studio (physically and socially) and I can't wait to see them continue to grow.
