WORST SALON EVER. Don't make the mistake of going here. The man that was at the front desk did my…read morenails and they started falling off 2 days later. I couldn't come get them fixed immediately because I had already left for vacation. I came back after vacation to get them fixed and he completely denied doing my nails to begin with. He kept saying I got the wrong place. He didn't do them. And some woman manager came and started saying my nails are old and I'll need a fill. I would need the fill IF THE GEL X NAIL WAS STILL THERE. The nail was gone and have been dropping like flies on both hands. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. Worst salon in slo. Even worse customer service. Don't go to these absolute liars. The day he did my nails, I had to REMIND him to do my cuticles AFTER he told me I was done. He didn't even do a proper manicure and I still tipped him. He realized he did a bad job and gave me a discount as well. HE KNEW HE DID A BAD JOB. HE DENIED DOING MY NAILS ALL TOGETHER NOW.

Asked for gel builder once we chatted about what I wanted, but she couldn't get the nails on straight. Blamed it on my nails being crooked and annoyingly shoved my hands in the dissolver and said I'd prefer acrylics. The acrylics wouldn't then stick because of the gel. So she kept using the grinder and grinded my nails down so much I had to ask her to stop because it was hurting. I asked for a mini almond and the shape isn't bad but the way she filed the sides dug into my nail bed on a few nails. She then was going to leave all the acrylic under my nails and I asked her if it washes off and she ended up spending a good amount of time trying to drill it all out from under my nails but that then took the paint off the tips and now they look all uneven. They are flat and raised and bulky and so uneven. At the end she said she knew I wasn't happy and said sorry she was busy during my service because she had to handle the customers and took the price from 75 to 60 "very cheap". Overall super disappointed and probably just won't go back at all. Super disappointed because it's such a cute shop and the atmosphere is cute and she seemed super nice. Just distracted and obviously didn't care about the quality.

Like I said before in my first review, the pedicure was great and I probably just came across a stressed out nail technician as they were busy. First, he would fling my arms around without caring if I could even move my arms in the shape he wanted. Secondly, the cure light turned off for a SECOND when he was pressing the nail and somehow it was my fault for not "working as a team" to move fast enough to the light, and because of this "one mistake mess whole thing and we have to start over". I was just sitting there, it's not my fault he didn't tap the light in time to turn it on. Third, he ended the service by not cleaning all the dust off my hands and nails, nor giving me lotion like most nail salons. He put cuticle oil ON TOP of the acrylic dust as I was already walking to the sink to wash the dust off because he didn't bother to do so. Fourth, he said to me "don't get gel x anymore because your nails curve down" yet I've been getting Gel X for a decade and no one else has had an issue. Fifth, at one point I was about to put my hand in the cure lamp because I couldn't understand what he was saying and he stopped me by freaking out and asking "are you crazy!!". I finally made the decision to stop going to local walk-in nail salons after many instances of poor drill work (i.e. my cuticles on both my hands and feet getting clipped by the drill fairly consistently) and overall general poor work (such as being left with gobs of collagen gel on my feet after a pedicure and having to wipe it off when I get home). I had seen Ashley's Yelp page and my massage therapist had recommended her long ago. So, I scheduled an appointment for both a gel pedicure and gel manicure. Ashley does the best work. She only accepts one client at a time in her private studio; so, I am treated to a private service each and every visit. She is detail oriented, friendly, communicative, and professional. I cannot believe I tortured myself for years with walk-in nail salons before finally booking with Ashley. Does it cost more than walk-in nail salons? Yes; but, it's worth every penny.
