Everything I have tried has been good at Stripes. Staff is friendly and quick to get orders out. You definitely get good size portions for the price. The chicken finger basket is great especially with the house dipping sauce which elevates the whole meal. I also use it to dip my fries so you might need extra if you use it for that too. The tacos are actually really good I like the barbacoa best, chipotle chicken second and carnitas last which had the least flavor. Pair these with their red and green salsas to get more kick out of each taco. The home made salsa is great but not spicy just added flavor. I also like the chile cheese fries I had xmas style which was delicious. I plan to make this my go to with any meal. It is a big enough portion for two to share. It's been a while since I've been to Stripes and I'm glad I took the time to stop. I got the #7, the corned beef breakfast burrito smothered with Christmas (red and green chile for those non New Mexicans). It was absolutely fantastic. The burritos are large and I can easily get two meals out of this which is part of the appeal. So not only delicious but cost effective too! The service was great. The woman at the drive thru was pleasant, clear, and professional. This is a drive thru so no ambiance but they were fast and rolling those cars through. I will definitely be back to this local New Mexican favorite that also makes a special effort to support military. Coming from a military family, this means so much!!! Burrito Betrayal Stripes Burritos on Wyoming... we need to talk. I was hungry. Vulnerable. Just a regular person looking for a warm, comforting bean and Chicharron burrito to make my lunch a bright spot of my day. I am a foodie after all. I drove up to the drive thru and saw it wasn't on the menu, but they said they could make it. That was my first mistake. I shoulda known. What I received was a bean and cheese burrito with what I can only describe as crunchy nugget like objects wrapped inside. The "Chicharron" chunks were like mini chicken nuggets that got kicked out of the McNugget family reunion for not containing chicken. I cannot believe anyone would even called these bizarre nuggets "chicharrones" Not only that, they had an odd texture. Real pork chicharrones were nowhere to be found. I soldiered on... However, with each bite, I felt my soul wither. I kept eating, hoping it would turn around -- but the more I chewed, the angrier I got. I was pulling out little pieces of confusion-nuggets like a kid looking for a prize in a cereal box, only to realize the prize was regret. I tried to fix it with red chile I ordered on the side -- usually the hero of any New Mexico meal -- but somehow, it made it worse. It was like pouring regret sauce on a broken dream. I miss the person I was 10 minutes ago. That person had hope. That person had dignity. That person hadn't been personally assaulted by a burrito. Honestly, this was my third visit. I gave this place three chances. 3 poor choices. I don't know why I kept returning. I should have trusted my gut. My ex-restaurant has lied to me too many times. But it's over. Stripes, it's not me. OK this is not your GP's idea of healthy living but Stripes is a great place with really good comfort food. And to say the least they do not shortchange you on the portion size. Their chicken sandwich is great. I've had them maybe three times and they have been consistently superb. The truckload of fries that comes with the sandwiches are always fresh, hot and crispy. Not a soggy one in the bunch, not that I've ever had. Also great are their burritos. I have gotten the adovada a few times and they are quite large, filling, and a great meal just in themselves. Their brownies are said to be top-notch incomparable but at this stage in life I can't go there. Service at the order microphone and also at the window are always competent and friendly. Stripes is consistent!!! Unlike a lot of other burritos in town every time I have had theirs, it's been great! I've had the bacon and ham breakfast burrito's with green and both were awesome! The chicken sandwich is really good, I just wish they had some other sauces to mix it up a bit. The tenders I tried were also great, same thing though with the sauce. They should add some honey mustard, and other sauces to mix it up! The two bites I tried of the Chicharron lunch burrito were pretty good also. It was with red and not the best in town, but I'd definitely eat it again! The worst thing I've had, which I will not get again are the tacos. They aren't very good at all. I got the #1 bacon burrito with green and it was hefty. It tasted amazing! The taters are little cubes and the bacon is crumbled so you get some in every bite. Wanted to keep trying new places while in Albuquerque so my wife found the yelp page for Stripes and we decided to try it for breakfast. At first glance I have to say while the building didn't look rundown by any means it also didn't look inviting either. There were no windows other than the drive through window. I don't know if that is a stripes thing or just this location thing. We took a look at the menu and something I really like is that they don't have a super variety of different things but what they do they do really well. I would rather a place do one thing only and do it better than anywhere else than to have a place that does a bunch of different things and none are super. The burritos we got were HUGE! Very good value especially nice in the current market. I got the meat lovers and everything was done to perfection. I only wished I had ordered some red sauce on it but that was my fault as I chickened out. So don't wimp like me! They were fast and friendly and I wish they would come to okc but I'll be back next time I'm in Albuquerque for sure. read more

This place is hopping! What we have here is a drive-thru version of the restaurant. Limited menu and tight space. Large vehicles be aware! If you have to be at work on time or yoga before the sweating starts or really need to go to the bathroom...be advised. You just might find yourself having to wait. This is the reason I knocked off a star. I feel like the goal of the drive-thru was to allow people to order and get going quickly. However, since this place is so popular and hopping you end up being told to pull off to the side and wait. So this may only be an issue during peak food gathering hours. The menu is limited. You have breakfast burritos and lunch burritos, a couple sandwich choices, chicken fingers, and of course the amazing New Mexico Pinion coffee. What is lacking from the menu is biscuits. The chicken sandwiches come with biscuits for the bread...but you can't order a biscuit any other way. My son was devastated. His life has been ruined...oh wait they have a kids menu with chicken fingers and fries! We are saved! Life is good again. The full menu is served all day so you can get lunch at breakfast and breakfast at lunch. It's anarchy and I like it. The food is excellent just like you would hope if you ever eaten at the actual restaurant. Burritos are HUGE. I ordered the regular #1 and it's enough (in my humble opinion) for two people or two meals. I can't even imagine what the large burrito looks like. I shall order it someday to see, but I'm scared.
