Fries GF Crispy Chicken Strips (not GF)* Mac & 7 Cheese GF

This has been on my list to try for a while now and I was in the area the other day so decided to stop in. It wasn't busy so parking wasn't an issue. The interior is clean and well maintained. Service was friendly. They have beer, cocktails, and soft drinks. The beers on tap are brewed in collaboration with local breweries and a few in manhattan. I tried the Gunslinger Gold West Coast IPA that was brewed with Red Crow. It was a really good, nicely done IPA. We ordered food to go and our order was accurate. We started with the Crispy Portobello Strips: Fresh Portabello Mushroom caps cut into strips & fried with pretzel breading. These were probably my favorite thing that we ordered. They weren't soggy and you could actually taste the mushrooms because the breading was light. I also ordered the Crispy Chicken Strips:Zesty Batter & Pretzel Breading. They came with a side so I opted for the fries. I was honestly underwhelmed. They weren't bad but they weren't amazing either. The chicken was well cooked. The breading was good. But it kept reminding me of frozen Tyson chicken nuggets. The taste that is. The fries were also average. I really liked the honey mustard sauce and it saved the meal overall. Since they had mac and cheese, I decided to try it. It wasn't the best and it wasn't the worst I've ever had. Again, just average. I really wanted to love this place due to the people and beer but I wasn't blown away. They do have burgers and other offerings so I may need to return to try some other items. I'd definitely stop in for a beer and some mushrooms.

I found Strip's by accident after driving through the area after leaving a restaurant destination nearby that had a line out the door and I didn't have the desire to attempt a wait. Strip's only had a couple of other diners on a Saturday afternoon so I had quick and efficient service. I wasn't feeling in a chicken mood at the time so i passed on the signature items and ordered a tenderloin with fries. The tenderloin was very large and had a nice breading and the fries were hot and crispy and a spicy in-house ketchup was provided. Zero complaints and I would gladly return again to try the chicken next time. Lot's of menu options and a full bar is available.

FPO and I came here at the recommendation of friends. We got here about 6 pm on a Saturday and only one table was taken. We were greeted as we walked in and told we could sit wherever. Others came soon after and by the time we got our food the restaurant was about half full. We ordered the Portobello Mushroom Strips (minimally breaded but a little salty). FPO got the full rack of baby back ribs. I tried them and they were okay. Needed the BBQ sauce; the ribs weren't flavorful alone. I ordered the Avocado Chicken Sandwich. It was okay. Not bad, not especially good, not particularly memorable. The service was okay. Our waiter answered the questions we asked. There was someone else who spent most of his time leaning on a pillar near the bar. We also saw another of the employees eating something a customer was returning to the kitchen because it was incorrect. Next time we'll explore someplace else.

DoorDashed this meal so we didn't get the full experience. I was craving chicken strips and searched Yelp!, obviously this place was the first to come up. It is very affordable, they have good menu options, and their chicken strips were very flavorful. You do have to notate if you want to add a side, but the 5 chicken strips ended up being enough for me.

Ultimate nachos with pecan-smoked pulled pork & jalapeño rum Cranberry Lemonade

After reading their Facebook post about the "ultimate nachos" had to drive from Olathe to the Merriam location to try them out. Amazing ...worth the drive!! A very generous serving ...fresh tortilla chips, choice of meat (ordered pecan-smoked pulled pork)... piled high with layers of cheesy nacho goodness. Paired the meal with a cold glass of jalapeño-infused rum cranberry lemonade. This would be a good spot to watch a Chiefs game!

The food is excellent! The service was sub-par. I am really rooting for this business to thrive but they need to do a little better. The restaurant was not busy but our order was "lost" and we had to seek out the server for additional service multiple times.

I liked everything about this new "dive bar" including the delicious, generously sized chicken sandwich, the good variety of sides, the reasonable prices and the first-rate service during my dine-in lunch visit. My grilled chicken sandwich with choice of side ($9.99) was served with a smile just a few minutes after I ordered at the bar, where the service was helpful, attentive, cheerful and friendly. The sandwich stood 3" tall with a toasted bun, fresh veggies, several moist, tasty chicken strips and a delicious sauce - nice! I also liked the very good selection of side items including the yummy, healthy superfood slaw. I noticed a clean and new seating area, a full bar with several signature drinks, 14 TVs, an electronic jukebox, two dart boards, a pool table and country background music inside with a large patio outside. The menu included chicken and pork entrées with strips, sandwiches and wings. They offered wrap, gluten-free and keto options without an upcharge, along with meals for the kiddos. Excellent!

It's open!!! The chicken is premium quality meat. Both sides we tried were crispy and well seasoned. They have a good list of local beers to drink as well. There is a game room in the back with TVs, pool table, and darts. There's a cute porch out back for outdoor dining.

Nice neighborhood bar. Just happens to stop here for lunch. Been hearing how good there chicken strip is and I wanted to try. They were okay. I want to try their tenderloin next time. Service was good while we were there. Big screen TVs available for sport watching. Pool table and music jukebox always available. This could be a good neighborhood hangout.

This is a clean "dive bar" with great food! I have celiac and they have GF/GS items which I appreciate. Their GF chicken nuggets are excellent and their fries that I choose are also good and I don't care for fries that much. They have a well stocked bar and friendly servers. They have a small patio area and also a game room for some fun.

They also were 'blowing the taps' which meant we get to try many of the beers that they were saying good-bye to. So, a little story. I was one of the first to wander into a place called Brew Lab years ago. I actually found the place because of looking for brewing supplies. There were a good amount of tools here but also these folks were serving their beer! So, what a great idea. I bought some grain... and had a few beers! I visited this place a few more times on the regular. Suddenly one day there was appetizers. And had the most divine pretzel bites that have ever existed. Next time was an amazing club sandwiches. And some pulled pork. All of the food has always been great bar food. And then there was the beer. So many delicious beers each time. Too many to try at once. But, that is all memory lane... Now... here is the news! Brew Lab is changing. The ownership remains the same however they have given up the brewing. They will have a few of their specialty beers that they keep on tap but they will have a lot more taps of beer from other breweries. On this visit they brought out a large amount of samples of the food that they will be adding/altering in the menu going forward. There were a lot of really delicious items and I am excited for when they have the full menu and I can order some of them. Most notably I am excited for the Catfish Po'boy sandwich. We will be back soon to try the all new... Tall Boys. Look for that review coming soonish!

For a brewery with a maximum occupancy of 83 and an engagement party in the back with 70 people scheduled to attend...you can immediately see the issue. Not to mention the number of kids at this place, now I get it, it was around dinner time it wasn't 9pm however, one of the parties seemed to be a child's birthday party, um what? And why? What an odd place to pick for your sons like 5th birthday (excuse me I am not great at determining ages of snot nosed toddlers nor, do I want them roaming around the brewery I'm at). With all of this being said, the beer was fairly decent and the beef sandwiches were divine. If it was nicer outside, it was still pretty nippy outside and spring hadn't sprung yet, then they have a big patio and outdoor area that could have been utilized. Case in point if your brewery only holds 83 people and you book a 70 person party- number one, just don't. Number two, use business logic and common sense and make it a rule that parties over a certain number have to rent out the space entirely for a private party. And number three, most definitely don't double book your business- heck in this case triple book (with the Saul's pop up bound to bring in a tier of customers you don't normally have) The sour beer was our favorite because, it was only slightly tart and zesty with slight citrus notes, it wasn't too sour and sharp. It was easy to drink which sometimes sour beers are not. I would order this again however, both the IPAS I tried were just okay...the New England one I preferred more, the hop profile was more in line with a slightly piney taste, it was fine.

During my recent visits, I repeatedly observed behavior from one of the bartenders that made the environment feel uncomfortable and unprofessional. This man has frequently crossed personal boundaries and generally came across as someone who was more interested in making female patrons uncomfortable than providing good service. Instead of feeling like a place where everyone could relax, the atmosphere felt like a boys' club where inappropriate behavior was tolerated. The biggest disappointment wasn't just the employee's conduct--it was the lack of action or acknowledgement by management that concerns are taken seriously. Instead of addressing complaints, they move to suppress reviews. When an establishment allows and enables behavior that makes customers feel uncomfortable or unsafe, it reflects on the business as a whole. I used to recommend Border Brewing without hesitation, but I can't anymore. There are plenty of breweries in Kansas City where everyone can enjoy themselves without worrying about being subjected to inappropriate comments or an unwelcoming atmosphere.

I appreciated the lower alcohol choices as well. The interior is, as the name implies, like a small beer hall, with long tables for gathering with new friends. Also ideal for putsches. The outdoor seating is a strong point. Serene, softly lit and spacious. The bartenders were business like friendly, they really don't want to hear your sad stories. The only downside was that they quit serving beer at halftime of the game we were watching. The game that went into extra time and on to penalty kicks. So we sat there for an hour and a half, thirsty, pockets full of unspent cash, watching the game while the neglected taps mercilessly mocked us. It honestly seemed baffling and inane beyond belief. Still, looking forward to a return trip when they're more willing to part with their delicious brews.

You may have even had some of their flagship beers elsewhere, such as JoCo Juice, a hazy IPA or Rolling in the Deep, a double New England IPA.
