I recently went to Arte in Wauwatosa for a canvas painting class and had an awesome experience (this was my first), so when we booked a group night to paint wine glasses, I was expecting the same type of business. Friendly, funny, interactive, and most of all helpful. This experience was anything but that. We were with a group of 13 women, ranging from 22 to about 80 for an after wedding shower party. We all sat down, and the "instructor" had set out pictures of examples and told us to go ahead when we were ready. She gave us zero instruction. As we all thought we were going to be following a step by step, which would be great because 99% of us had never done this before and had no idea what we were doing. The instructor said if we need help to ask. She didn't walk around and offer suggestions, her and her other partner barely interacted with us. If I would have known this was going to be the case, I would have hosted the party in my living room and saved us all $35. When we sit down with freelance to do whatever we wanted, no help or instruction, it seemed pointless to be there. Sorry, but this was a joke of a business. I will definitely not be returning. read more

I made reservations for my son and myself for the wrong date as the studio was closed that day. I called the studio and spoke to Chris. She was extremely accommodating and let us come in, even though she was not open that day to the public. My son is Autistic and Chris was gentle and understanding and accommodated his every need! We had a great time and would recommend to anybody looking for a fun night out. A++ read more

Stacy from StickMan studios hosted a Bob Ross painting event! It was pretty fun, but I wouldn't say it was very "Bob Ross", only Bob Ross inspired. She was very patient and even though our class went over by quite a bit, she continued helping everyone out who needed it. I would go again! read more

I organized a fund raiser for the American Lung Association through Stroke of Genius. From start to finish they were organized, fun and very informative. In my search for a venue for this event they were also the most generous in their percentage of sales contribution. None of us had a clue what we were doing, but we were guided step by step to the basics and allowed to run with our imagination on our selected piece. We recently held a work event at Stroke of Genius. It was a great venue for our needs and Chris (the owner) was very accommodating. We got to select the artwork that we wanted to paint and also a custom timeframe for our event. A hidden Gem in downtown Waukesha! This place is fantastic! The owner is an absolutely wonderful instructor. Even if you feel like you have absolutely no artistic ability, she will find the artist in you! I have been here for several parties and I continue to recommend it to all of my friends and family. The drink selection is nice. They have a limited but well chosen selection of beer & wine. (They also offer a number of non alcoholic drinks.) Street parking can be a pain, but I use the Pay-to-Park parking structure that is mentioned on the website. It's less than a block away and only $3. You will not be disappointed! read more

My wife and I just left there, after a two hour birthday party. They seemed pretty unorganized, the double booked the party room and but they were able to recover from that mishap pretty well. The instructor, seemed as though she was making stuff up as she went along. Het instructions were very vague, abd I spent most of the time asking "what?" The birthday girl had fun, but I wouldn't go back to this place. read more

We recently had a class there. The owner was very friendly and the atmosphere was quite comfortable. We were given individual attention when we needed help, but did not feel "hovered over". They offer many different beverages, including wine, mimosas, coffee with some "spiked" options. Overall, an enjoyable experience! We will probably go again. (Our only hesitation is we live many miles away.) if you're looking for a master painting class, you might look elsewhere. If you want a fun time with friends, try them out. read more
