I have severe back problems. I was diagnosed with stenosis, degenerating disks and arthritis. I had trouble standing and walking. To avoid surgery I have been doing physical therapy, acupuncture, tui na massage and using any type of over-the-counter pain patch I could find. Several friends knowing of my aversion to surgery recommended Rolfing. I had heard of it but was not aware of what it really was or what it could do for me. An internet search brought me to Henry Kagey and Structural Integration. I scheduled a consultation and a treatment to see if it could be helpful. Rolfing is a form of very intense and sometimes painful massage that corrects the bodies skeletal and muscular issues. After the first session I noticed a difference and improvement in my walking and scheduled a series of sessions with him. I added Rolfing to what I was already doing, and I saw improvement after each session with Henry. He is extremely knowledgeable about the relationship of the bodies skeletal and muscular workings. Before each session Henry would have me walk up and down his office to observe my gait and balance then determine what he was going to work on. My walking gait has greatly improved and I don't feel as unstable as I did at the beginning of our sessions. I am now on a monthly tune-up schedule with him. I am writing this review because people should know that Henry does incredibly effective and informing bodywork. As a fellow bodyworker, I've had a lot experience in receiving touch therapy. Henry is amazing! He is the best at what he does. I discovered rolfing for my scoliosis, for which I had spine surgery. I was left with chronic pain and irregular muscle function. I first learned about Structural Integration earlier this year and decided to give it a try to proactively improve my body, since I wasn't suffering from any actual pain or issues.
