Took care of there tire and an oil change I really needed. What I really loved was how it was clear it was that Tony (who was working the front desk) understood his customers needs. He (and the rest of the staff) seemed to offer extra services that he felt the customer needed to be safe and really worked with customers to find the right tires/services to get them safely on the road. Worst experience ever!!! We dropped off my car to be inspected. They told us work needed to be done for $500. No problem, do the work to pass inspection. Next call was they dont do the work we need so we need to come get the car. No help in getting the work done. Now we have no inspection, no sticker, no work done AND they charged $37 for failing inspections because THEY didn't know how to complete the work!! read more

Had a tire problem that triggered 'low pressure' sensor on dash and required re-filling by air pump. Talked to manager Evan and he identified the tire problem right away. It turns out there wasn't a nail or slow leak in the tire. Evan was very honest and showed me that tire problem was caused by very low temperatures. It didn't cost me anything. read more

I set up an appointment for my son to get mew tires on Feb 14. Turns out last minute that he could not go so I called and rebooked for Friday. They said no problem at all and were very nice and understanding, He goes to his scheduled appointment on Friday and they tell him the tires are not there. He checks back a few times to see if they have come in and they tell him that the system still says they are en route. Finally they tell him to come in the next day. He goes in on Saturday and the person says with attitude that his appointment was yesterday. He calmly tells them the story about being told the tires were not there and the person says that they have been there since Tuesday. Mistakes happen but that person treated him with a tremendous amount of attitude while he was there like it was his fault. Very unprofessional and condescending. Will never go there again. read more

I've been here three times for an oil change and tire rotation. It's conveniently located off the Somerville Circle. With the purchase of tires, I get a free tire rotation each time I come for an oil change! My only qualm is the evenings hours. I'm not available until 6pm M-F. The only day their hours are past 6pm is Thursday. :( read more

I came here today for an oil change and I was then told that my power steering fluid and motor engine fluid was very dark and needed to be changed before it causes problems...at a cost of $140. I called the Lexus dealership to ask if this was included in my 90k maintenance. They said it was not and is absolutely not necessary and can damage my car. The Lexus service manager spoke to his top technician. I'm glad that I didn't waste more business on this shop. I will no longer bring my business here and neither should you. read more

Made an appointment two days ago for 10:30 AM Friday (today) oil change. I wanted to wait for it. Yesterday they called me to confirm my appointment. Today I showed up slightly earlier than 10:30 for my appointment and they said my appointment was not in the system. They were the ones to call and confirm it! And then they said they wouldn't be able to start on my car for another hour. So I had to have someone come and pick me up. This was at 10:30. My car still was not ready when I called them at 3:45. They finally finished it at 6 PM. It took them over 7 hours to do a simple oil change. Luckily they did not make me pay for it. They kept my car for almost two days then called and said they didn't know how to fix it?! I was out of a car and then had to find somewhere else to take it! Unbelievable. My husband takes his Toyota Highlander there for service. I have a new 2017 Kia Sorento that was unbelievably out of alignment!! I didn't really notice but my hubby did.... Anyhow to make a long story short Byron and Brian took care of the issue. He talks very highly about these guys (Aaron, Byron and Brian) and I would have to agree as my husband is very picky about work done to his or my vehicle. Made an online appointment, which was no problem, showed up on time,and was waited on promptly. However that's where everything started to go downhill. Requested prices that were on the website,but was given a higher priced tire, I only needed one tire,but I figured I'll buy two and keep other tire, which still had descent tread, about 5/32nd's. I was giving a total price without a breakdown and road hazard was added in without even me requesting it or being advised of it, we left the vehicle there and the work was completed and reasonable amount of time. However even though I requested to put the other tire in the trunk it was not done, and when I called back to request why I was just told you I'm sorry we apologize I will look for it and will call you back. after three days went by I called cuz I did not receive a return phone call and was told all the tires were thrown out and there wasn't really sufficient tread left. I will not go there again I guess I was one of the unlucky ones being that I see all these great reviews so either they were family members or they weren't real reviews and any of that you've lost my business, and being the fact that I was in the automotive business for over 20 years and if anyone ever ask me about Mavis tire I'll let them know this is how they work and you better sure you get what you ask for. read more

I was traveling through new jersey and had a problem, I stopped into the suburban in Metuchen and the manager and team there took real good care of me. Had services at Suburban discount tire for many times over the years. Used to be a nice place, but not any more. I believe it is under different management now. I had an incident recently that a piece of metal struck my car from underneath while driving on a highway. The radiator was leaking. I brought my car to the shop. They told me that the condenser was also damaged. In addition, they used the same dirty trick they used before and told me that a totally unrelated part needed to be replaced. If not, I might need to come back in a week or so and pay almost double price. They scared me before by using this dirty trick when I was in there for a brake pad replacement. I ended up having the rotor replaced while my car was only four years old. They told me that I might need to come back in a couple of weeks to have the rotor replaced if not replaced at the time. Since the repair charge would be over $1500 this time, I had to go through insurance. So I decided to go to the dealer for the repair job. I brought my car to Honda dealer service. To my surprise, I was told that the radiator had to be replaced while the condenser replacement was optional. There was absolutely no additional part that needed to be replaced due to this incident. Although it is a common knowledge that a dealer would charge a premium price , there is no reason for them to lie to me in this case. I had the job done at the dealer place and paid a little over $800. In other words, Suburban discount tire would have ripped me of $700 if I had the job done there. Meanwhile, I realized that the rotor replacement was absolutely a rip off. I'll never go back to that place again. If you don't want to be ripped off, be careful. It is always a good idea to get a second opinion especially on a repair job. read more
