Tatsiana Bender was referred to us by my wife's former boss who is also a CPA. I cannot say enough good things about Ms. Bender. She was extremely helpful and understood our needs. The program she uses is extremely simple to use. Just upload all tax forms and they are stored in an online folder. Chat makes it easy to ask questions/supply answers. Any tasks needed to be done by taxpayer are listed and checked off as completed. Having to complete three returns was simple with the program. Returns were completed faster than I anticipated and ready to be signed. Anything that needed to be completed for filing was clearly explained. Finally a planning phone call is done to explain opportunities for tax savings next year. I am extremely happy using Bender CPA and would recommend her for any complex tax work or business function. He makes my life extraordinarily easy. My tax returns in the past have been a series of challenges. I have never once had to struggle working with Jay. Though our personal tax situation is fairly simple, it does have its challenges. I have felt very confident in Jay and appreciate his being particularly tech savvy. We hired Jay for our business taxes and my personal taxes on…read morean emergency basis last year after we were suddenly dropped by our accountant of 10 years (see review for Karen S Freeman). During our phone interview Jay sounded great and especially loved the fact he was crypto literate. It was downhill from there. Here are the negatives..... 1, He kept accusing us og not knowing hot to properly do bookkeeping and asking us to turn over our bookkeeping to him - for a fee of course. We have never had any CPA complain about our bookkeeping and we have been doing it for 19 years. 2. He failed to depreciate our buildings at our business thereby causing me to end up owing the IRS an additional 15k in taxes that I should have never paid. Our new CPA caught this and filed an amended return to correct the mess Jay created. 3. He never filed the franchise tax report with the TX Comptroller's office and never bothered to mention that he did not file it. This caused us to get a notice from the state putting us out of business until we remedy this by filing our report. Again our new CPA is handling it. 4. Jay is constantly trying to upsell services as add ons that other CPA firms include in their tax preparation service. Also when something goes wrong it is always the clients issue never his responsibility. Stay away. This was the worst accounting experience ever.
