Beware. Although the technician did a great job cleaning my ductless mini split(was not cheap), upon review of my electronic invoice I noticed I was signed up for two different annual programs that automatically renew against my credit card annually unless I call the office and to cancel. These annual programs were never mentioned nor agreed to. Had this been my mother, or another less aware person they would have been locked into annual memberships with automatic renewals. Additionally, the fine print on the invoice says if you fail or late to pay the amount owed for the annual plans(such as credit card declined), you still owe them for any outstanding charges owed. The service technician was here over a month ago to give me estimates in updating/replacing my existing R/O Water Purification system. I chose a system, and a deposit was put down that day. An appointment was made for installation. That appointment was canceled because of system ordered not in warehouse. Second appointment made and that one was canceled as well for reportedly the same reason. The technician vowed that he was going to order the equipment from a different supply house. No word until I called. I was promised a call back which never happened. Very frustrating. I don't think at this point, I can not recommend Stuart Services because of lack of reliability. Please don't hire this company esp if you need a plumbing permit. They charged me $1400 and did absolutely nothing to earn that rate. They didn't send the plumber that filed the permit to my home for the inspection and all the appointments that they should have been making to help get my plumbing started, I had to do myself!! On top of that mind you I hired them 6/24. Last Friday 6/25 he city came and took my meter because they had not paid the FIFTY dollars that the city requires to file the permit oooor closed out the permit paperwork. They are useless. I requested some warranty work on my rinnai that was having an issue. I called everyone on rinnais list to see who would have the lowest "consultation/evaluation" fee. Amanda said they don't charge a fee to figure out what is wrong. When the tech got there they wanted $350 to tell me the error code was what it says it is! Just very shady business. I had them leave of course. I have petea coming tomorrow, they only charge a 150 eval fee and they don't lie. Stay away from Stuart, this is the 2nd time they have lied. The first was about a "promo" they were running for a clogged drain for $99. When they got here it went to $299. I'm not sure who owns them but this is not the way to do business. I would not recommend this company they will flat out lie about their services. After using the company for electrical and plumbing work in 2024 I started a membership with them thinking it would come in handy. I called the company in April to verify all services included in the "membership" and was told yearly HVAC inspection. Called in July and was told "I must be mistaken" because no one would say such a thing and supposedly their calls are record. A recorded call I wasn't allowed to hear. After demanding a refund I found the letter signed by Amanda dated June 1st that clearly shows the item included in the "membership" which number one shows HVAC performance and tune up included along with electrical inspection. I'm revising my review for this company as they gave me a big runaround on work that was previously done and didn't want to stand behind it, but charge for another service call over 400.00. They fixed a bad capacitor a couple of months ago and it went out. It needed to be replaced again and still wanted to charge me the 400.00 service call which is what I paid before. I called to get an appointment for New Year's Eve morning because I had a clog that I needed fixed for a dinner later that evening and I was desperate. I was sent an appointment confirmation by text and email for the next morning. I spent some time the night before putting a ladder up against the roof, running an extension cord up for their auger, since they have done this once before. I also filled up my washing machine which was another thing they asked us to do. I just received a message that they will not be coming out today because they have other people who are members that called in and needs services over me. They were more than happy to charge me the ridiculous emergency rate for later tonight if I wanted to go that route. Yes please make me pay as much as possible!. This is completely unacceptable. I guess they don't want new members but why would you become a member anyway with a company that only rates 2.5 stars? I now know why they do. Just be aware that even if you have an appointment, they can and will cancel you at the very last minute just because one of their members called in! Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. That dust bunny cost $342 Follow-up call rec'd to ask about my service and I told him it was unacceptable that they did not disclose a minimal charge. I called and asked for a site inspection and was told there would be some assessment to determine what was wrong for a $79 visit. Instead, they arrived and did no work whatsoever, only to then tell me the $79 was just to show up. ??? They then told me (in writing) we would need pay an additional $425 to have it actually diagnosed which "included small repairs". I reluctantly said yes, figuring this would at least solve the problem if nothing major. Of course not, 15 minutes later, I get a message saying my capacitor needed to be replaced and that I would have to spend another $518 to replace it! Anyone with basic knowledge of AC repairs or even half a notion to check google knows a capacitor is NOT a major repair...more like $100 part +labor. Of course I didn't accept the additional service.... who pays $1000+ to fix a capacitor!?!? Proof of my comment, the very next day I had another service provider come out and they installed brand new capacitor (with photos) PLUS gave a very thorough inspection which helped to identify other issues which they also fixed, all for nearly half the $425 + $79 I was charged by Stuart, producing nothing. Wait, I take that back...they sent me a photo a photo of the outside of the unit. To show some level of professionalism here, I reached out to Stuart in 3 separate emails voicing my concerns. No response other than sending an invoice, a photo of the outside of the unit, and then automatically deducting the full amount. The invoice of course made no mention of doing small repairs, but the text message they sent to confirm prior to doing the $425 work clearly did. So in total, we are billed $500+ just to have them tell me they think the problem is the capacitor? As a consumer and multiple property owner with experience on home repairs, you can understand my concern here. I appreciate the last minute refund on $79, but this is simply not right. If you say in writing before the work was done that it is "including small repairs" you do not them and also provide no evidence of the actual diagnostic, that is consumer fraud. I'm willing to pay the $79 trip, but if I'm not refunded the $425 I will be reporting this to Better Business Bureau by end of the week. read more

Service was prompt and professional. I have no complaints on the service, or the work done by Stuart. However, they are very expensive. I had to have a hot water heater in a rental unit repaired. The repair was under warranty, so the parts were supplied by the manufacturer. I had to pay for labor. I had a problem with the hot water heater last year, and Stuart's charge was several times what I paid a year ago to do basically the same work from another licensed plumber. Stuart came out to look at the heater and determined it needed parts (1/2 hour or work). They ordered the parts, and when they were available, they came again to install them (1/2 hour of work). The heater still did not work, and they came again to install another part (1/2 hour of work). The charge of $750 was excessive. I have complained to them about the charge, with no response. As I said, they are dependable and professional. However, they are much more expensive than other licensed plumbers in New Orleans. read more

Do NOT use this business for air conditioning work. 12 years ago we hired Stuart to install brand new duct work, indoor and outdoor units and the service has sucked ever since. Just recently our outdoor unit wouldn't come on. After adding freon the technician then said the computer was broken. Billed us for $625 and said it would cost $1500 to replace computer or $7000 to replace entire unit. Called another Ac technician and they had our unit running in 5 minutes!!!!! If we choose to have those items replaced it would be half the cost. I can't believe they are charging me and trying to rip me off for this type of incompetent service. I regret hiring Stuart Services to come and inspect my condenser unit. The technician was nice but I feel like I got taken advantage of. He talked me into 2 different type of inspections totaling over $850 just to find where the refrigerant was leaking. Then he wrote me a $1,510 estimate on fixing the leak inside condenser unit. So a total of $2,360 to find and fix a tiny refrigerant leak inside condenser unit. Total rip-off in my opinion. On 5-19-22, I had the second half of my "Home Safety Inspection" for my AC System by Stuart Services. Technician Mike arrived on time as scheduled and immediately got down to business checking the internal components of my AC including the blower motor, duct work, etc. Mike used some high-tech gadgets to check the air temperature coming out of the duct system and the air inflow in the AC filter opening. He then went outside and checked the electrical components & wiring of my Condenser Unit in addition to cleaning the coils, etc. I was very impressed by Mike's knowledge of the operation of a HVAC / AC system. I called this company when my shower wouldn't turn off two nights before thanksgiving. I was freaking out. They told me dispatch needed to call me back. It took about 15 mins and I was able yo get the shower turned off. I'm glad I did because the after hours price adds $200 on to any repair. And that's understandable. We schedule a plumber to come out yesterday , which was Monday and I left work early to meet him so I wouldn't get charged the after hours rate. He looks at the shower lever and take its apart. Tells me I need a new cartridge. Tells me he has to go shop for the part and he's only going off the picture he took of the part and that he doesn't know a model number or anything. I said ok and then he said he can do that the next day and come by after work. I said I didn't want to pay the after hours rate and he said he would work with me. Then he hands me his iPad with an estimate on it.... $678!!!!!!! He tells me that again he is going in blind bc there's no model number. He's estimating the price of the part at $200 and the repair will cost $478. I tell him I need to think about that and he had the estimate emailed to me. After he left I called my brother in law, who is a contractor, and asked his thoughts on this price. He said "THATS OUTRAGEOUS!!!" He tells me the repair will take 15 mins and I can do it myself. I just need to get the part. So I go and look at the shower myself (he left the lever dis mantled at my request to help remind me not to use that shower) and what do I find? A MODEL NUMBER right there in the part! I call a plumbing company and tell them the brand and what u needed and within 10 mins she called me back to let me know they have the part in stock and it will cost $40!!! I feel like I was being taken advantage of. Do not use this company. I had a bad experience trying Stuart Electrical Services for the first time. After completing a walk thru of the property and pointing out the necessary electrical repairs to the technician "Jeffrey", I waited beside his company van while he wrote up the repair quote. After entering all the repairs into his company computer, he verbally went down the list to make sure he had everything. After reviewing the list and adding the vent fan in the bathroom because "o yea, I forgot that one", he submitted the work and gave me a flabbergasting high quote of $5,738. I thought this quote was about double what it should have been but I reluctantly agreed because I was leaving town and I needed these electrical repairs completed for my tenants in order to get power and hot water. The first sign I had made a poor choice in contractors was the day after "all repairs are complete" by Jeffrey when I received multiple messages from tenants telling me there was still no hot water(I had texted the tenants the hot water should be working - after I got the "all repairs complete" by Jeff). I went to the property as soon as I got back in town to see what was going on and I found no electrical power going to the hotwater heater. I sent a text message along with pictures to Jeff letting him know the hotwater heater was not getting power and he replied he would come out and check it. After troubleshooting the problem he found "a short in the new breaker box my guy installed". I asked if his guy had checked to make sure the hotwater heater was getting power before he left and Jeff replied " he should have - but obviously not". One day later after "running to get parts", the hotwater heater was finally getting power and the tenants were happy. But the problems didn't end there - the fan in the bathroom HVL still has not replaced and the company is claiming "it was not on the invoice". I spoke with "Brittany" in the office and asked her to please call Jeffrey because he and I 110% for sure looked at that issue while doing the walk thru and he absolutely had it on his list of items to repair when we verbally reviewed them from his van. I found this place through a general Google search. What a winner! I received a 6am call while on vacation to learn the A/C was not working. Those who live in Nola or any warm state know the value of working Central Air. I saw it as a dire emergency. I mean if you pay rent, everything should work or be fixed pronto. I get it was not over 90 degrees outside but these folks burn pots on Sunday. Without air, they'd be in a sauna. I called for emergency service at 7am. They sent someone out within the hour. They called to indicate they were in route and had the central unit back working by 10:30am. This all took place on a Sunday. Sunday dinner and fellowship was saved!!! Total rockstars in my book. I also learned that they offer a maintenance plan for units that like $12 a month. It includes reduced repair cost and includes unit cleaning twice a year. I highly recommend Stuart Services. Very poor schedule management. Very poor customer service. Called on Dec 1 to schedule service on Dec 7 requesting 1st appt of morning. Called again on Dec 2 to check my schedule options and confirm my Dec 7th, 1st appt of morning - they said they would do the best they could. On Dec 7, by noon, no one showed up; no one called. I called Stuart Services and they said that they would have to reschedule for the following day. To stay at home on Dec 8 to wait for Stuart Services, I canceled my elderly mother's cardiology appt (because I drive her and handle paperwork at the doctor's office). Just before noon on Dec 8, I received a call from Stuart Services saying that they could NOT get a technician to my house that day and will have to schedule the following day. The caller PROMISED me that I would be first on the schedule for Dec 9 and she was putting the note DO NOT MOVE APPOINTMENT. On Dec 9, Stuart Services called at 8:40am saying that there was an emergency call and that my appointment will be sometime later. When? Don't know. So much for their PROMISE of DO NOT MOVE APPOINTMENT. I have been pre-paying Stuart Services for this maintenance service all year. It appears that the company already has MY money so they are prioritizing going after new customer money before honoring their annual subscribers. Very poor schedule management. Two of Stuart's men showed up at a residence in Metairie a few days ago as they were asked to check on conditions in the attic where they had done some work. Previously, Stuart had done several jobs over several days on the duct work, etc. throughout the house. The other gentleman while looking for a possible leak found a need to tape up an area where they had previously done work. This seemed to help with any leakage that might have been occurring. The other guy was asked to check on a fan that had been previously installed by another contractor to see if this might be the reason for some sagging tiles. He inspected the fan and said it was broken. He then said he could get everything fixed for another $9,000!! This family had already spent thousands with Stuart to alleviate the exact problem this man was claiming they needed to address. When the contractor who installed the fan checked it he found it in perfect working order. The reason it wasn't turning at that time was because its thermostat had been set too high. No thanks to Stuart: "we'll fix everything [which Stuart had already been paid to do] for another $9,000"!! Don't know if this is SOP or if Stuart has one rogue player...but if this is the way they operate forget any more business!! He left me with a quote for additional work that while didn't have to be done, would be nice to ensure all was well. Two weeks later I called and accepted the quote and made an appointment. Two guys came out for the appointment and neither was the one that initially came out who actually identified the problem. One of the guys that came out the second time was quite rude. He made it very clear he didn't understand what he was there for and kept asking me what he was there for. I thought it was clear in the quotes that his company had provided to me. He didn't seem to get it. So I told him that I guess I didn't need it and have a good day. They left. I have not heard from them. I have had no apology. I've had no reach out. THE WORST. Made an appointment to use 3 of their services (plumbing, electrical and AC). I was confirmed for the next day but given no window of when they would be there. Told they would just call 30 minutes before they arrive. Guess you just don't go to work that day. Cool. At 12:30 day of appointment, 2 of the services were cancelled. Told the earliest to reschedule was next week or I can pay for emergency service after 5. Was assured my other appointment was still scheduled though and they would be coming that day. Two hours later, I got a phone call fro another girl saying that my 3rd appointment of the day was also cancelled or I could pay an emergency visit after 5. When asked why, she said they were helping an "existing" customer (I am also an existing customer but I suppose that does not matter nor does my time) My entire day has been wasted. Set plumbing service call with Stuart 4 times in 2 weeks (clogged pipe) - each time for first thing in morning. Called them after 11am and was told they will be there first thing after lunch. They did not show up or call each time. This was after they did 2 large plumbing jobs (over $30,000) with a "5 year warranty". Difficult to honor warranty when they don't show up!
