Not flexible on happy hour. I came for my son's graduation celebration and brought our own gourmet cake. I accidentally stepped out and left the cake on the table .... within 5 min I realized I had left the cake (we also had a few beers).... i called to let them know we were coming back for the cake and was told they threw my whole cake away. Oh yeah and P.S. when we called and asked to speak to the manager and explain the situation .., she (very shallowly) said, "we can't do anything about it" and ended up HANGING UP in our face. Super quick, friendly service. Very affordable, yummy food. The only downer was the loud group of older men playing Yhatzee and cursing up a storm at the bar. This has become my favorite local bar in the San Dimas area, all the locals here sorta come for the great service and great staff. All the bartenders are so sweet and really do a great job at making you feel like your welcome with open arms.The food is always great, I really enjoy their wings. I wish music could be a little bit louder and better selection, but with all the great drinks, food, and amazing service it's already a great vibe. If you like a good day drink and some lunch I'd come visit Rayleen she holds it down, she's on point every-time and always has a smile on her face. Not only are they open during COVID, their service was still phenomenal despite having to work outside. A HUGE shout-out to Justine, she made this visit more than worth it. She's a wonderful person, and a wonderful server. She took time to know me and my table by name and also didn't hesitate to put the hockey playoffs on per my request (even though the dodgers were playing and conflicting with my interests lol). I would come back either way, but I'll definitely be coming back when Justine is working. She's a breath of fresh air. Everyone else was wonderful too! So much better!!!! I used to come to this place, under the old owner, a few times per week and every time she was there it would be empty. No one wanted to be there, employees or customers. Now, it's a completely different story. Everyone is so happy to be here. There has not been much change in the environment besides: menu, additional TVs (22 in total), jukebox (spent way too much money on) and the overall happiness of staff. It is now a joy to come in, eat, have a few drinks and enjoy. The staff is happy and enthusiastic. Stopped in yesterday with a friend for happy hour, we both recently relocated to the area. The atmosphere was incredible, everyone was super sweet and nice. The servers/bartenders are easily the best I've ever had, we were constantly checked on and felt very welcomed. When we explained we were new to the area the staff welcomed us and made sure we had any and all questions answered. The place was extremely busy, but every server and bartender were engaging with all patrons, I don't think a single patron had to wait more than 60 seconds to order a drink and be served. We talked about the atmosphere and stellar service since we left. We will be going back today for happy hour and I'm sure many more times after. Having frequented the prior establishment for years finally got a chance to get in and give it a try. Service - was top notch. Waitress was very attentive and worked her tables very well. Was not slammed but was busy enough that I have had other places slow down, she kept it rolling very well. Menu - general and standard fare can be found with enough of a twist that you should be able to find anything you want. Beer selection is what this place is all about for sure and they have an abundant list from the Tap and in bottle. Patty Melt - was very good and better than your standard places. So you shouldn't be disappointed if you head this direction. Monterey Chicken Sandwich - this was outstanding. Much more flavorful than I probably expected and was a great hit. I would order this again all day. Special - Turkey Rueben --- this was not as good as the other items. The sandwich was normal deli turkey meat and the coleslaw did have good flavor, but no where near to the same level as the Monterey Chicken Sandwich above. Was also disappointed when I got the bill and noticed that it was the most expensive item. My advice, stay away from the daily specials and just order from the vast menu as most items there are really good. Definitely will be heading back again. read more

Give credit where credit is due!! Recently went through an ownership change. The changes seem all GOOD. The menu (which was quirky before), is less artsy-fartsy and more simple delicious. I've always loved stubborn mule but tonight there was an issue with a server. I didn't get her name but she was young skinny and covered in tattoos. She immediately came up to us with an attitude but I tried to shake it off because I was with friends and family, but when I tried to order a drink she snapped and said she needed to see everyone's ID in order for 1 person to have a drink (not everyone even planned on drinking). Then refused to serve me because of a tiny chip in the top corner of my ID (mind you this has never been an issue at any other bar and I've been pulled over with it and have had nothing said). After deciding we were going to go elsewhere she threw her hands up and scoffs "okay" then to top it off as our party was walking out of the door she passive aggressively yells and waves from behind the bar telling us to "have a great happy evening." You could tell she had attitude and was aggressive towards all of us, we just simply wanted to have a good night and enjoy a dinner with friends and family but someone doesnt allow others to enjoy a good time. read more

I received a gift card for Christmas from a friend of mine. My husband and I went to dinner and used the card. When we paid and used the card they said it was not any good. I called the Manager Dennis, and gave him the card number on the back because I didn't want to tell my friend it wasn't any good. The manager said he would look into it and call me back. Never called me back until 3 days later. I did ask my friend the morning he called me back and she had the receipt that she paid. Got paid back the amount but manger wasn't that concerned or nice about the whole situation. Was embarrassing on my part and my friend part. The food and menu was better when it was Clayton's. My family and i used to come fairly regularly at the old restaurant. Seeing it had become a new restaurant with the same style of food, we decided to give it a chance but we're very disappointed with the food. My mother ordered the pistrami sandwich and mentioned it was shortstacked of meat and was dry. Not enticed by anything on the menu, i reluctantly ordered a bbq bacon burger and was disappointed as well. Sad to see one of our regular dinner spots close, we will not return. read more

Though in this Covid time the place is busy, it is really nice to see the manager and the servers still smiling even while hustling. They did do their best and get the 5 of us in. The food...great taste, great portions, served hot, and no mess ups at all. No one rushed us, and the drinks were delivered, even if it took a little time. I've been to the Mule a few times now and everytime the food is great. I really loved the grilled chicken club, the bun was delicious, it's my new go to. The salads are great too. I would have wanted to give a four star. The happy hour meal and service is quite amazing. The reason why I unfortunately had to down grade to a 3 is because you need to look at your bill. I was overcharged for a beer that I never ordered. This is not the first time that this has happened so just keep an eye on your receipt. I do not know if this is a common practice for sure but it has now happened twice. Good place and I will be back for there menu items especially for NFL Sunday. What can I say they had potato skins so they deserve 5 stars. I was here back in October. I had a drink with a friend on a Thursday night with an order of potato skins. The worst service ever!!!!! They only acknowledge you if you're in your 20's. Took over an hour to get our food. Couldn't get anyone's attention for drinks, had to go to the bar just to order. It was Friday evening and very busy in the Mule. My husband and I found an empty table and sat down. After 10 mins of NO service my husband went to the bar himself and ordered drinks. Shortly after a waitress appeared and we ordered the chicken club sandwich. Took a while to get here and was only warm - not hot - but tasty and lots of it!
