You will often be served by one of the wine makers, who will answer any questions you may have. Their Pinot Noir is a great expression of the local specialty. The "Kitten With a Whip" rose' is the most flavorful rose anywhere. The Pinot Gris is the best white wine anywhere. The Sangiovese is wonderful with food. They have also become the Petaluma Cheese Shop. They have delicious cheeses from this area and around the world. They also do sandwiches, fondue and dessert treats. The venue is a part of the restored historic Petaluma Hotel, a bright and airy space with cozy couches and some vintage video games.

Garry was a Navy veteran who transitioned into a lucrative career in tech, but after planting a small backyard vineyard, he realized his true passion was winemaking. He left the tech world, earned a degree in viticulture and enology from UC Davis, and cut his teeth at prestigious wineries like Ravenswood, Kosta Browne, and Dutton-Goldfield. The staff and owners are so kind and attentive. Our group decided to do the wine class, and the owner personally sat down with us to go through each wine. His wife kept checking to make sure our food was good and that we were enjoying ourselves. They complimented us and were so kind that I think this is the only winery I want to spend my money at when I come back to Napa. The staff was even gracious enough to give us a private tour of their land, so we got to see their beautiful koi pond, wedding ceremony areas, cows, horses, and we even met the family dogs . If you want to talk about five-star service, it was here, and I cannot wait to come back to a place that truly felt like home.

We had a brief tour and learned a lot about how they grow, harvest, and create their wines. Interestingly, their winery just received authentication as an organic winery and their practices are clearly about sustainability. Their wines are quite good to my palate. The Syrah Rotie is full bodied and will age well. The Oro de Plata is a lovely light wine, very drinkable. And my favorite was the La Cruz Chardonnay, with a light touch of oak.
