I've been going to Karen Harbaugh for as long as I could remember, and my mother has been going since before I was born (as of today I'm 22). It was so nice when she opened up her own place and she has truly done a great job. She has a knack for styling hair just the way you want it and has a nice and friendly staff. Her studio is a bit far away from me, but it's totally worth the drive, and I don't get my hair cut all that often. I have yet to go there since they expanded, but I'm anxious to try out their massage and spa services. read more

I've visited some of the best salons in Columbia and Frederick. Studio Allure is perfect! Their stylists are very skilled and understand hair very well (ask for Alison - she gets color, texture, and cut better than anyone I've known). I have somewhat difficult hair and she gets it right every time. You don't feel like a 'number', they take their time to understand what you're looking for. They recently expanded to offer more stylist options and will now have a massage therapist on site. (I think more is coming in the future.) read more
