I contacted the store again and brought it back. They called Sebo directly and had them basically replace almost the entire "works". Brought it home and now works beautifully! read more

This is a family owned business and we have been going for many years largely because of the wonderful friendly service just like this. I brought my vacuum for repair and the woman I talked to checked my vacuum thoroughly, was able to order the missing part and fix it in a quick amount of time and the vacuum works great now. However, during the course of our conversation, the woman working there (after hearing me say much earlier my fiancé is also a woman) mentioned that "homosexuality is a sin," and compared it to "doing drugs or watching p*rn." So, while the service is great, if you are a member of the LGBTQ+ community or an ally, it is worth knowing that, while I was not treated badly, they staff folks (all family at all 3 of their locations) who are comfortable believing that and saying it out loud. The goal is not to hurt them as a business, but to protect other LGBTQ+ customers from having the experience I had (I cried in my car after). read more

These repairmen did a great job on replacing broken motor. My Miele vacuum motor stopped working after 15 years of use. Lady who answered the phone is rude. I asked her what the price would be to replace an Oreck XL brush and belt and she immediately responds with, "what do you mean?!" For a second I thought I had the wrong number since it seems like that would be a common questions vacuum repair shop would often get. She had an attitude pretty much the entire conversation. ANOTHER great experience - Having been so incredibly gracious and kind the last time I simply needed a bag, went back for a brand new vacuum cleaner... And not only did the owner go out of their way to get me the best possible pricing, but they expedited the shipment knowing that during Covid regular methods have been unreliable. Again - vacuum cleaners are not generally what most of us are spending a great deal of time focusing on... compared to finding a great restaurant or air conditioning repair! I wish I would have come here first vs going on Miele's website, being directed to what ended up being the wrong parts only to have to return them. When I called to ask some questions, I got the super helpful answers I was looking for. I came in with the vacuum the following day and had the best service from two delightful ladies who really went above and beyond to help me. One even found what I needed on Amazon and texted me the link to purchase since they didn't have it in the store. I had the vacuum serviced, they were able to provide a refurbished part I needed and I'm good to go now. These appliances are very good and worth the money for sure. Ashley knows her stuff, is extremely nice, and really cares about doing a good job! I called trying to locate a hepa filter that I knew had been discontinued. Although she didn't have it, she said that she could make one that would fit so that I could continue to use my vacuum! When she finished working on the filter (I had only brought the filter into the store, not the whole vacuum), I mentioned that I had the vacuum in the car, and I could bring it in if she wanted to test it with the filter she made. I loved how excited she was by the fact that we'd be able to test it out. That (and other things she said) showed to me how much she cares about her job. And she charged me a very reasonable price. I brought my beloved vacuum which needed some tender loving care that I was unable to give I t, and a few small repairs and talked to the owner about what I could afford to fix and what I couldn't. When he explained to me what was required and the price of the full job and I said I could only afford to do part of it..... there was NO attitude NO shaming, he simply said "I totally understand" and was happy to work with me for what I could afford. I CANNOT OVERSTATE how much that meant to me as a customer to not be shamed into having to pay the full amount to get everything done even if it wasn't necessary at this point. Ashley (the tech always seen behind the counter) is the reason I initially started coming here, and she is the reason I will be a lifelong customer!!! From the first moment I entered on my first trip in, she was so incredibly warm, inviting and beyond patient! Pretty much every time I've brought my vacuum in (I have a Miele canister) it's because of some shit I did to it in accident myself. Lol. I had tried multiple other local vacuum repair shops in the past (typically run by older men) and never felt I got the same level of attention or detail to the work that I always have with Ashley. And after the first repair, Ashley spent a good bit of time teaching me how my vacuum worked, things to look out for, and how to maintain it so that I wouldn't accidentally cause the same problem to happen again! No one had ever offered this before! And I learned SOOOOOOO much about my vacuum that I'd otherwise never known (I've used a Miele for a long, long time, so I was shocked at how little I knew). Ashley is fantastic! She does really incredible work and she's always willing to take whatever time in needed in order to answer any questions or to teach you things you may not have ever known or been able to find in online searches. I have an old Eureka Express canister vacuum. I have used it for apprx 30 years and it was amazing until the end of January (2024) when I started smelling a burning smell and realized that the motor was probably burning out. After reading the many positive reviews on Yelp, I took it to Studio City Vacuum & Sewing Center. The lady said that she was pretty sure it could not be repaired because they did not have the parts for this older unit. But she told me to leave it and she would have the repair man check it out. I later received a call from the repair man who said that he had over 40 years experience fixing vacuums, and would be able to fix my vacuum. I told him that the lady at the repair shop said it could not be fixed. He said that she means well, but that she really does not know what she is talking about. I got the machine back and the repair cost was apprx $450.00. When I started using the machine at home, it was readily apparent that the machine did not have even half the suction power that it used to...and the noise it made was much louder and higher pitched. I have been very busy with some personal issues including preparing my 2023 taxes, so I postponed dealing with the situation. This past weekend my Son and I tried using the vacuum for some Spring cleaning. He too noticed right away that the suction power was very weak. Previously, the machine used to be able to suck up my dog's hairs that were stuck to the carpet and the couch. Now it can't. My son and I both concluded that the new motor was smaller than the original motor I brought the vacuum back in to the shop today and explained the situation. The lady at the shop checked out the unit and said it was fine. She threw some white stuff on the floor (about 1/8" diameter pieces) and vacuumed them up, and then said "see, it's working fine, there is nothing wrong with the suction". I asked her to stop trying to gaslight me, and to please let the repair man take a look at it. She then started to yell at me and called me a "misogynist". She then refused to let the repair man look at it, and told me he retired a month ago. read more

I just had a very positive experience with Todd! I brought in a used Singer sewing machine, which was gifted to me, to see what was wrong with it. Immediately, Todd noticed missing pieces and showed me a similar Singer for comparison so I can see for myself all the missing pieces and improper functions. Hi yelpers. I decided to replace my 14 year old Miele Red Star in the middle of a pandemic!! The motor worked fine, the problem was getting the electro brush and hose replaced for this model because it was discontinued. After years of having these items fixed I gave up and decided to get a new model. So I called up Studio City Vacuum to see what they recommended. I spoke to Johnny and told him what vacuum I had and what my floor types were. He provided a couple recommendations and then I started researching them on Miele's website. I made my pick based on Johnny's advice of the Miele CompleteCare+ Powerline because Johnny said the warranty was longer than their other models. Now here is the kicker, I am immune suppressed and can't leave my house to go pick it up. Without hesitation Johnny offered to deliver it to me (I am local). I do not hesitate recommending this business, Miele products which are amazing! and Johnny. He really knows his stuff and is kind, helpful, respectful, and went out of his way to earn my business.
