My daughter had an appt on Wednesday with Lindsey at 6:30pm and at about 6pm, they called to cancel because Lindsey had a color appt. That was taking too long. I was a little understanding and rescheduled to Friday. The appt. with Lindsey was at 3pm on Friday. At 1pm they called to reschedule again because Lindsey had to leave early. 3.5 stars. I have a Groupon that I got an amazing deal on (3 blowdry/styles for $50 something bucks, specifically by Selina Straub.) I was able to get in to see Selina for one of these blowouts. To me, blowouts are the perfect pick-me-up when you're feeling blah and they always put me in a good mood, so I love getting them before date night or a girl's night out. To start, getting my appointments with Selina was a little challenging. She doesn't do online booking so the only way to book with her is to text her directly. Both times I wanted to book with her, I've had to text her again the next day or the day after, because I never heard back from her.. it just made me feel like I was bugging her to get an appointment. When I finally met her in person, she did acknowledge this and she apologized, which I appreciated. The salon has plenty of parking and can be a little tricky to find, but Selina greeted me right away with a smile and offered me a beverage. We got right to the shampooing, which is usually my favorite part! There was definitely had some room for improvement. The water was flying EVERYWHERE. In my ears, all over my face. At one point the water was also way too hot. These are definitely not things I've had to speak up about in other salons, but they do matter. A few splashes isn't the end of the world, but I remember thinking to myself, "well this is different..." Lol. She did not ask what I was looking for for my blowout, nor did she seem to care a whole lot. I told her I was looking for some volume in my roots and she simply said, "well it's hard when you have long hair. There's only so much you can do." She got through the blowout pretty quickly and while it was by no means a bad blowout, the result was fairly mediocre. We made some conversation during the blowout and when I asked if she was getting a lot of customers through her Groupon, she responded, "Yeah.. I think I'm going to let it go soon." Her next customer was texting her to get the address, to which she said out loud, "I mean, it's on the Groupon." (To be fair, the Groupon says "Hair by Selina".. nowhere on it does it say it's located at Studio Latitude. This was also confusing to me initially, but yes, the address is indeed on there.) Sadly, I really just got the feeling she was over the whole thing and she wasn't trying really hard. I was really excited about the Groupon I got since it was a great deal, and I still do want to finish the package. But I honestly felt that Selina wasn't the most detail oriented, nor was she motivated to go above and beyond. If you're looking for a quick, affordable blowout without any frills, this is the place to go. Maybe it was just an off day, so I'll update when I return! read more

This review is long past due and specifically for hair stylist, Selina Straub. I found her off of Groupon where she was giving a deal on haircut and blow dry. The studio is a nice location but slightly hard to find; I had to ask a nearby business exactly where suite C/D was. But once I found it, Selina greeted me immediately. She wasn't upset that was 5 minutes late (which I hate to be)! She started off by asking what I was looking for, how much to take off, where I usually part my hair and how I like to style it. It really seemed like she wanted to give me the best experience, including a glass or cold water. Once she started the cut we talked about all of the life things you usually go through with a hair stylist and I felt reslly at ease being in her chair. Best part about it was that I saw she was cutting exactly the way I had described and wanted. I don't do much to my hair too often but when I do I will surely reach out to Selina again. Corey is the owner and fantastic stylist-in-chief of this lovely oasis, and I highly recommend both! It's a relaxed, fun, friendly atmosphere that makes you feel like you're hanging out with your best girlfriends (but still a man-friendly joint). No drama, no pretense, and lots of laughs. Everyone is professional and talented, but easy-going and I've never seen an unhappy customer in all my years of coming here. I highly recommend them, you won't be sorry! She listens, makes great suggestions, and I always get a stylish cut that grows out and still looks good. There's no pretense with Corey or the salon and I appreciate that. Nothing like feeling under-dressed at the salon! I can go in after the gym, after work, or pre-event and still get a hug, smiles, and stylin' cut. I was a lot apprehensive about letting someone touch my hair. I've been doing my own cut and color for years but I was looking to do something dramatic like go from lower back length hair to a very short wedge cut so I thought I should have someone else do it. That someone else ended up being Kimberly and I couldn't be happier with my choice. Kimberly listened to all my concerns and wants and created a beautiful cut and a wonderful new color as well. She kept things relaxed, fun, and friendly and I definitely left the salon with a smile on my face. Kimberly is the only stylist I will be using from now on. After traveling for two weeks, I was in desperate need of a waited-too-long haircut. Especially after I had tried to trim it myself until my return home in Maryland (i.e. Bad Idea). While I was apprehensive to just walk in unknown, this turned out to be the best impulse decision ever! My professional stylist, Lindsey Wagle, listened to my concerns, studied a few of my Facebook photos and transformed me to a better version of myself! I went to Alicia for the first time over 10 years ago and I've never looked back. She is an expert with color and highlights, and always gives me a great cut and style. She even did my hair for my wedding which is a girl's most important hair day!
