It's taken me a while to post this and really I still don't know what to say honestly. I saw some pics that impressed me and decided to give the beautician a go, but it was my first and last. The wash was weak; the cut was choppy and the style was horrid. I asked her what her specialty was and she proudly said she could do everything! Well, not that day, and not on my head. This is my first visit and I'm definitely going back! I was lucky enough to book a same-day appointment and Yaly did such an amazing job with my nails. I love the fact that she did at least 4 coats of nail polish and also went in with a very tiny brush to fill in the sides (top tier work!). She and the ladies were so sweet and the place had a very light, welcoming, and accommodating (all my first-timer questions were answered ha!) atmosphere. Definitely worth the hype and price. Review during Covid I feel sorry about giving only 2 starts during these hard times for small businesses, but my experience wasn't great. The salon is in Bed Stuy and it's really cute: nice furniture and decor, the atmosphere is cozy and relaxing. Once arrived, the staff offered me a complimentary beverage: I felt pampered and it put me in a good mood! Unfortunately, the rest of my experience was so so. The pedicure chairs are actual armchairs: they look very pretty, but they're not very comfortable. Same for the manicure stations: I had to keep an awkward position to allow my technician to reach my hands (I'm a shortie). The pedicure itself was nice: they infuse the water with lemon slices and go through several steps of scrub, massage, hot towel, etc to create a nice experience. But the problem was with the Manicure: my technician went heavy on the nail polish, and in the end it was so thick that it wouldn't dry. I waited for half an hour, and when I went to check on my nails, every time I touched them I got a bump or a smear in the nail polish. I waited longer, but it didn't do much. By the time I got home, the nail polish had completely smudged. When I was waiting for it to dry, the manager noticed it and offered me to come back the next day and get it fixed free of charge. I came back today, and I had to get all of my manicure redone. Even the fingernails that didn't look horrible had smudged. I spent one extra hour to get it fixed, and I'm confused because this has never happened to me with a mani. A different technician did my nails today, and she recommended being careful because nail polish takes 24 hours to dry. I appreciate the advice, but really, any other time in got a Manicure I was able to walk out after 20 minutes without worrying about my nail polish going everywhere. read more

I don't even know how to start with us. First of all, it felt like i walked in to paradise. The spot exudes family and protection. As soon as you walk in you will be presented with a hallway and various doors. But each room has a special function. Hair salon, massage chairs and when you walk to the end you walk in to heaven. The nail area. The women were so welcoming. The owner was also there and she was so happy for us to be there. When i tell you this was an experience. My values and ideals lies with buying black so you know i had to check it out with my friend. I got the gel manicure and the card that was put into everything was just fascinating. I had my hand on a cute wooden bowl with sliced lemons soaking up my hands. The products they use are all home made and many black owned products. I am still taken aback from this experience. Definitely a spot i will come to over and over again. Let me tell y'all about the bathroom. The bathroom had the best hand soap and candle scent burning. You can actually buy the candles and Brooklyn tea is sold here too. They legit have a little shop area. So beautiful. We also chose wine as our drink of choice. How they popped out the "black girl magic" McBride sisters wine. I was taken aback how intentional this spot is with everything. read more

I spent my birthday getting beautified at Studio Nicki Spice. I went to get my hair done and decided to treat myself to a much needed pedi. They have an expansive menu for self care treatments ranging manicures to massages and things in between. I got the "Milk & Honey Bath" spa pedicure which boast that it was moisture infused. It was a aromatic milk bath with florals and oils with what I believe was a soothing honey mask which felt like the kiss of 100 angels on my tired little feet, followed by a chocolate mask. It. Was. Divine. And luxurious. And absolutely worth it. Those feet were scrubbed, massaged and rubbed back to life. Thanks to my technician Lulu, who was amazingly attentive as was the entire staff. It's my mission to buy black and I really wanted to love this salon, however, my experience was not the best. I really appreciated that the tech took her time on my gel mani and pedi, no rush at all, and I like that they used scrubs as part of the treatment. However, she nicked my big toe and it began to bleed and I had to specifically ask for an antiseptic-in addition to dousing my toe in hydrogen peroxide when I got home. The tech also was not very communicative with me, though she talked frequently with her coworkers. (Another tech was very gracious and checked in on me a few times.) It also bothered me that my nail tech wore her mask on her chin, it really defeats the purpose of protecting others and yourself. I'm immunocompromised and still wear two masks. Lastly, when I used the bathroom after my services, let's just say there was a surprise in the bathroom! Not necessarily the fault of the staff, but still not pleasing to the entire experience. I would be open to going back, if to another nail tech. The mani-pedi was mostly good overall. read more
