As I was packing for our East Coast adventure, I was thinking fall weather clothing: boots, beanies, light jackets.....oh but on our last two days, mother nature said NOPE, I am bringing the heat! It was hot and we were slightly dying, as we passed Sweet Elizabeth Jane, not only was their storefront display soooo cute, but we could feel the AC blasting when we passed by. Seriously, this was the reason why we went in. Not knowing what to expect, I was surprised. The store was two floors, but not only did it have the cute souvenirs and Christmas decor that was visible as we passed by, but it had cute clothes and accessories. What a gem of a store....it was boutique plus, plus!!! This store has my heart. It was hard to narrow down my shopping since I had to be mindful that I had a carry on and personal item to travel back home. I couldn't resist and decided to purchase items and just ship them to myself back home. I bought a shawl/jacket in the most wonderful Olive Green color that is perfect for walking and driving in. I also got the softest scarf. Customer service was top notch. I saw this scarf on display on a mannequin and I asked if it came in different colors and they went to go look since I am not a big fan of the browns in my attire choices. I got a gray/black combo scarf. Since we had cooled down significantly as we were shopping, we got hungry and asked if we could place the items on hold since we didn't want to carry our purchases until the end of our exploration and headed back to the car. I gave them my name, they placed the items on hold and we went to eat. When we came back, the store associate remembered my name and that our items were on hold. She also told me that they have a website with many items for sale from their actual sales floor that could be shipped and proceeded to tell me how the store got started. She wrapped the items with care and off we were. Prices are completely reasonable for a store of this caliber. This store could easily fit into the vibe of Stanford Shopping Center, Santana Row, downtown Carmel, etc.....but I KNOW that this place will blow any rivals strictly due to their fair pricing, storefront size and their unique items. They mainly sell sweaters along with some other knitwear like hats and scarves. They have a small selection of styles at any given time, but always have an assortment of colors and sizes. This is one of the places we always make sure to hit during Ellicott City Main Street's Midnight Madness. I'm not a sweater guy, but my wife and sister both love their stuff so it's easy to pick something out that they'll like for a decent price (how many brand names can you say that about?) This place is located right on the winding Main Street, so parking can be a chore at busy times. Main Street is a historic area, and walking up and down exploring the charming boutiques (and bars) always makes for a nice time.

I guess all shiseido brand is expensive when it comes to skin care. But my brother in law got me hooked so I went to buy the night cream at this place. They are pretty well stocked so I wasn't surprised that they had what I wanted. $42.50 for 2.5FL OZ of night cream. I know that's expensive but so far so good. In any case, the ladies were nice, but since my husband did all the talking (in korean), I didn't know if they spoke english well. So, I'm not sure if i'll be able to go in by myself... but I've noticed that in Ellicott City, when we go to restaurants or businesses, people seem to know english very well, so maybe it'll be ok. What I enjoyed is the organization of their products. Makes things so much easier when shopping. It seemed that there was more items at this store from tops in my size to handbags. I found a couple of things to try on...the fitting rooms are big and having different hooks made it easier to sort the items that I wanted to take vs pass on. I ended up buying two handbags, three shirts and a pair of Nike shoes. The shoes was the best purchase because I had been eyeing the same model but just in different colors. It was hard to justify since I didn't know if the shoes were going to be comfortable. Lo and behold....they were here at Uptown. They were my size, very comfortable and it looked like they had never been worn. SCORE! Plus, they were under $50, making them almost three times less expensive than what they originally run for. Staff was friendly during our time shopping at the store. Parking was plentiful since this store is in a shopping center. Too bad I live in on opposite side of the country, but I will definitely come back again. The Forget Me Not Factory is an absolute gem and time capsule located right in the heart of…read morehistoric Ellicott City. After living in the area for years, I always passed by the whimsical exterior. I finally ventured in for the first time and wish I had done so sooner. It not only has the charm and magicalness of walking into a witch's cottage or a fairy garden shop, but is also a time capsule where you can find calendars from 2007 with whimsical fairies that you can still buy today. In other places, I would absolutely be put off by the old merchandise, but in a place like Forget Me Not Factory, it absolutely fits the vibe of the establishment, and I actually really enjoyed finding old things for sale there. It felt like stepping into the past, and I cannot wait to go back. Whether to find new items for my garden or supplies to make my next Ren fair costume.
