Let's start with the people, because that's the heart of everything. Nicole Schofield is the absolute pick for ingenious hair design and color. The best part? She won't do something to your hair that would destroy it like other stylists at other places would just to get paid. She actually, genuinely CARES for every one of her clients. As for the rest of the salon, this attitude seems to be the norm. You walk in there and they COULD be pretentious for how amazing they are, BUT THEY'RE NOT! Other salons, I walk in and feel out of place immediately. Studio Raw makes you feel like you're walking into Cheers, everyone greets you and makes you feel at home even if they aren't the one that's working on your hair/nails/makeup/relaxation. I first tried Studio Raw with a spa package for my wife and I after she went thru radiation for cancer.. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us and get us scheduled. I had the opportunity to meet both owners Dan and Lorraine and knew that they are genuine kind and caring people. We have since booked appointments for massages, facials,manicures,pedicures,body treatments and spray tans. Recently after 30 years of going to the same stylist Lorraine cut my hair and highlighted and cut my wife's hair. The results were simply outstanding, fresh, healthy looking and we both received lots of compliments. What I have also been impressed with,is they not only continue to update themselves on the newest techniques and styles,but that they mentor and have a hands on approach with the younger staff so they can grow into a fully booked stylist with skills that are unmatched. I have had 2 experiences with Studio Raw Elite and both were amazing. I saw Luc for a short length haircut and color with highlights; my hair was very long and is extra thick. Luc took time, made sure I was comfortable, and was meticulous; it's one of the best color and cut jobs I have ever had. Luc looked at what I wanted and applied it in a way that suits me; and, for someone with super thick hair, the cut feels so light. The atmosphere is comfortable. I spoke with the owner, Dan, and other staff and everyone was incredibly welcoming and friendly. It was just a really open place. My 3 year old also had her 1st haircut with Hannah who was great. I was so nervous taking her, but Hannah was patient with us and quick at cutting her hair. The cut is adorable and it was great 1st experience and my daughter was really happy. The atmosphere is incredibly warm and relaxed compared to other salons in the area. They have a downstairs spa area separated from the hustle and bustle of the salon above. Amanda at the front desk was friendly and suggestive regarding the products, but not pushy. Amber, who did my facial had a calm energy about her which made the experience that much more enjoyable. She definitely intends to give her clients a pampering session which included neck and shoulder massage, facial massage, extraction, the works. The organic products she used all smelled amazing, and my face is glowing, not raw and red as it often is after this treatment. The best part was that the actual massage table and space where they perform the skin care treatments was comfortable and relaxing, not the clinically bright uncomfortable experience I had at Ulta. I just moved here from NY about a month ago. I had a great stylist in NY who knew exactly how to cut my pixie cut hair. I was super nervous seeing someone new, but I knew a few people who worked at Studio Raw. I asked around about who would be the best person to work with super short pixie cut hair. I was told Angela Hubert..........and boy were they right. Not only did she match my NYC stylist in the perfect cut, but the color (a rose gold I adore) was spot on. When I left the salon I got no less than 4 compliments on my hair at the grocery store and gym the next day. Angela was super nice and listened to EVERYTHING i had to say (and I had a lot of picky things to say about my hair) and she patiently listened and gave me an awesome style. I had a wonderful experience at Studio Raw Elite. My cut and color were exactly what I asked for, and I couldn't be happier with the results. Johnny was incredibly easy to talk to, very talented, and really took his time to make sure everything was perfect. I am beyond happy with the results. The salon has such a friendly, welcoming, and inclusive vibe that immediately makes you feel comfortable from the moment you walk in. They even passed out warm chocolate chip cookies fresh from the oven, which was such a thoughtful touch! Dan, the owner, was very involved and checked in with clients throughout the appointment, which really showed how much he cares about both the salon and the customer experience. As a customer of Raw for well over a year, when I go to Raw I expect my stylist to act a bit rowdy. That fun atmosphere is what I expect when I go there, it allows me to relax and usually makes my day. I love getting my haircut done by Erin, and the atmosphere always brings a smile to my face, especially when Dan comes over and starts a wild conversation with me and Erin. I've always had good experiences here and I'm sure any new customer will too. KH I'm sorry you don't appreciate the atmosphere here, but maybe you should keep your ridiculous comments to yourself. I saw a video on Facebook introducing Gina to the world from Studio Raw. I haven't had my hair cut since August 2014, so it really was needed. I came in and it was a welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. But what was out of this world was the one on one attention I got from Gina. She did a complete consulation on what I did daily with my hair, how I managed it and how I normally wore it. She did some recommendations and asked me what I wanted to have done. Truly it was an awesome experience from start to finish. She asked me through out the hair cut if I liked it and recommended some options going forward. I would totally come back again! I moved back to Pittsburgh after living overseas where I received excellent haircuts. As a guy, it's nice to get more than a simple "barber" sort of cut. It was hard to find a place that didn't do that to me. After a few bad haircuts in Pittsburgh, I decided to try Studio Raw. I was scheduled with Tara. She knew exactly what I wanted and pulled it off like it was so incredibly easy. Her confidence made me so relaxed. I've been having a good week. I have been going to Dan at studio raw now for a couple of years. I used to hate to take the time to get my hair done thinking it was wasted time out of my day but I needed to get it done. Once I found Dan and studio raw I actually look forward to going every 4 weeks. The atmosphere is awesome!! I have an adult beverage, grab a snack and just relax. I have never gotten more compliments on my hair as Dan goes above & beyond to make it perfect!! The staff are all a pleasure to be around. The spa is also superb!! The BEST spray tans ever!!! I have been here a few times- I do rate this place a 5- I do however rate it a -5 when I see people at the front desk being treated poorly! I have witnessed Tory yell, belittle, and physically rip things out of other workers hands. There are days when she is sweet- and days when she is miserable- everyone has their days- but I just want to point out how I have never seen someone at Raw in a mad mood- except her! I do try my best to avoid her when I'm at the desk- everyone else is friendly, patient, and up to speed. Sorry that one individual ruined the review! Still 5 star ratings! Their stylists are first class artists & do amazing work; I strongly advise open-mindedness regarding their recommendations, because they know this stuff real good. I drive by every day and finally made an appointment two weeks ago. I wanted a cut and color but didn't have any particular style in mind, so I told Jenna to do whatever she felt would look best on my hair. I ended up with a cut I love! The color was amazing, but it faded after only a couple days. Jenna was more than happy to re-do it a week later with some different chemicals that would work with my hair. Really fun vibe inside, very comfortable and chic. The kitchen is a definite plus. The cost is comparable to other high end salons I've gone to. Studio Raw is the best salon I have ever been to. The atmosphere is fun and inviting. They have a kitchen with wine, peanut butter and jelly, and popcorn, and a comfortable lounge to sit in. I had an appointment with Nicole, and I really wanted to do something different with my hair. I've had the same look for a while and I showed her a picture of what I wanted, and she did a spectacular job. She was very nice and she is extremely talented. This place is FANTASTIC!. I was made to feel welcome and wanted. The atmosphere is fun and friendly. I had no idea what I wanted so I gave all my trust to my stylist Dan. Best thing I ever did. He nailed it perfectly and I couldn't be happier! He really knew what would work for me and he was so right! Today was my first visit to Studio Raw. It was wonderful!! I arrived really early for my appointment due to getting off work earlier than expected but they fit me right in. Danielle waxed my eyebrows and was great! She did exactly what I wanted and was very personable and upbeat. Kim did my manicure and was amazing! I love my nails she gave me tons of choices when it came to doing the colors. There was construction going on and everyone kept apologizing for the noise and mess. Went to Raw tonight for a cut and highlight with Rachel Rieg. She did a great job on the color! She also did my eyebrows and she was so gentle with my brows! Like...you never though gentle and waxing could go together but Rachel makes it so. My cut was a little challenging because I'm trying to grow out a short pixie cut, however I think Rachel did really well with it! Dan came in and sassed it up a bit at the end and all is well.
