Friendly guy, clean and well kept salon, and otherwise great reviews. Leaving a 1-star because of the crazy amount of hair I've lost since the procedure. My experience was deeply disappointing and damaging. Owner's response to this review lacks accountability and honesty. I've had Brazilians in the past and typically the stylist flat irons the formaldehyde into your hair, then washes the chemical out, then re-straightens it. Instead this time, I was sent home without the process properly finished, just after the formaldehyde was flat ironed into my hair. I WAS SENT HOME WITH FORMALDEHYDE STILL ON MY HAIR. It seemed a little weird but I was relying on the stylist to be the expert. I reached out the next day to ask when I should wash it out and Stylist said "Whenever you like". So, unfortunately, I waited until my next hair appointment to wash it which was 2+ weeks later. Stylist expressed shock but seemed unwilling to admit that what he did was not only negligent but demonstrated unawareness. It's typical and standard for black women to get our hair done biweekly with no washes in between. I'm still a little surprised that he would be shocked that after formaldehyde was left on my hair for 2 plus weeks, there would be damage. Not to be funny but it doesn't seem like rocket science. Formaldehyde is dangerous! Via text he asked that I share that I went to another salon for a flat iron twice after seeing him. Again, demonstrating unawareness. He offered a deep conditioning treatment, but I was wary to return. LONG STORY SHORT IF YOU'RE AFRICAN-AMERICAN, I DO NOT RECOMMEND! STYLIST DOES NOT UNDERSTAND BLACK HAIR. PERIOD. Hopefully this can be a lesson learned. I spent $240 to learn the hard way. read more

I've gotten 3 brazilian blowouts in my life, and this has to be the worst one. I'm sorry, but the state of my hair is not cute. If you're gonna come here, you better make sure you have your hair already washed--my hair was "washed", but yet I can literally feel the product from my own products and the brazilian from what is suppose to be a "final" result. I came home from my appointment and literally picked build-up flake out of my hair. And my hair is not straightened, it's simply blown out with the ends left frizzy. Because I stated that I wanted a loosened curl texture, apparently that means my hair can be straightened haphazardly in larger sections despite having fine, thick, and 3c curly hair which must be styled with high heat and good protection for a sleek result. If you can't do all types of hair that's fine, but I sent a picture of my natural hair before setting the appointment and he accepted it so of course I'm thinking that he can accomplish AT LEAST a simple, nicely straightened look. No, he wants to be done as quickly as possible not for the clients benefit but for his OWN. He talked about how he prefers to spend the majority of his time relaxing and it's clear why he tries to finish in under 3 hours. He himself said that he "gets lazy" and wants to spend his time outdoors. Well, go outside then. But don't charge someone for really lazy work. On top of that, the professionalism was completely nonexistent. I'm a 25-year old woman and he kept repeating how he likes to have "fun" with young women and telling me how he loves Asian women like as if I had asked him. I have no idea if it's because I am younger but I felt like I was getting lectured as he told me his views and opinions on things that I simply did not ask, and if I tried to add polite commentary he simply dismissed what I would say and continue with his own thoughts. The service is just not there. If you already have a near-straight hair pattern and simply want to pay for product---no styling, no care--then sure, come here and you'll be done in 2 hours with hair you probably could style yourself. He didn't even clean his station before leaving he wanted to be done so badly! I thought because I saw a diverse range of clients that he could provide basic service that you would expect from a salon but I was wrong. I was late by 20 mins and felt bad so I tipped but if I wasn't I simply would just pay the rate and go. 250 is his charging price WITH A DISCOUNT for first time but I wouldn't have even gone in if I could go back in time. People are willing to pay for a good brazilian. I have paid over 300 for one and it was worth it because I left with sleek, silky hair. This time I just left with heated hair that has product left in it and I'm nervous to find out what my curls will look like when I wash it. Again, if you have any type of thick curly hair DO NOT COME HERE go somewhere where the stylist isn't nervous to simply detangle your hair. read more
