Studio Zucchero/Katherine makes some delicious baked goods! I found this home bakery through another instagram food blogger (is that what they're called on ig?) and was instantly intrigued by the promise of some mochi cakes. That was one of the quarantine baking challenges I didn't quite get right so I resolved myself to find others who could execute it correctly, and SZ is one of them! Mochi cakes I have tried: -Cinnamon Sugar Donut was deliciously sweet and had a nice soft and chewy bite to it. The outside is dusted with cinnamon sugar which adds to the donut aspect of it. -Thai Tea was a bit of a let down as I was expecting more of a sweet bite but it was more of a savory bite. Nothing wrong with the flavor, but I personally love it when my Thai Tea Boba drinks are sweet and was expecting the same with this mochi cake. -Banana Chocolate Chip was the perfect balance of chocolate, banana and mochi! Seriously loved the flavor of this one and might have to buy a full (a dozen) next time I order. I also had the pleasure of trying her Oreo Snow Bars which are essentially like rice krispy treats but more mellow on the marshmallow and with an added salt factor which helps to balance it out. It is so worth the little package it comes in and packed with Oreos in every bite! There are instructions for how to store your mochi cakes properly so that you get the best flavor from them, and even a little note on how to AIR FRY them back to goodness should you chose to refrigerate them. The texture is very unique, and is similar to the flaky peanut candy from Asian supermarkets. The description of the snow bar is very accurate: chewy, flaky, sweet & salty- I thought it actually tasted better on Day 2, when the bar was chewier. I've tried most of the menu items and my favorites are the cinnamon mochi cake, the match midnight cookie and the Oreo snow bars (honestly don't know how she does it but they so unique and not too sweet!) Woohoo new baked goods seller in town!! I was super excited to try their menu, so I got the sampler box of mochi muffins. The owner threw in a couple snow bars, I guess as a sneaky peaky since they're not available for order yet... and omg I can't. But omg let me just talk about the mochi muffins first and then I'll get to the snow bars. MOCHI CAKE MUFFINS There's something new and homey at the same time about those mochi cake muffins. The flavors are familiar favorites but somehow SZ takes them to a whole other level. I love blueberry lemon and banana chocolate so I knew I'd enjoy that in mochi muffins, and SZ didn't disappoint!! As for the other two offerings... to be honest I usually don't like pumpkin spice or cinnamon sugar things, but somehow Studio Zucchero does an EXTRA amazing job on those flavors. I think those two are my favorite, even though I wouldn't say that anywhere else. These are honestly addicting... so chewy and decadent, not too sweet, delicious slightly toasted or even right out of the fridge--it takes everything I've got not to stuff the entire muffin in my mouth... Can't wait to buy all those flavors again!! SNOWBARS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These are like CHEWY, BUT CRISPY, AND AIRY, BUT DENSE, AND STICKY, BUT BITES OFF CLEANLY, ALL AT THE SAME TIME. HOW!? I've honestly never had anything like this, in all my years as a millennial foodie. The first bite you're like, mhm ok this is pretty good. And then the second bite you're like, wait a minute, what's going on? You set the bar down because you're a little confused by everything that's going on in your mouth. But you can't set it down for long because your SOUL IS CRYING OUT FOR MORE. Before you know it, YOU'RE crying because there's no more snow bar left and now you have to wait until the item is released and the menu is updated. Dramatics aside, these snow bars really are nothing like anything I've ever had before. I tried the cookies and cream flavor and the peanut butter flavor with the intent of saving half for tomorrow, but ended up inhaling everything in 5 seconds. I think the peanut butter one is particularly addicting. I wish I could describe it better than just "peanut butter" because it's like "peanut butter" but you're also "in heaven" so it's not just "peanut butter. I wish I took pictures! This was by far the best mochi Muffin I've ever had. Each bite was a delight. It was SO good. These muffins captured the soft, faintly chewy texture of mochi, it's hard to stop eating them because chewing becomes fun. More surprising was that the mochi muffins maintained the texture into the next day. The flavor options were diverse, I'd be hard pressed to find mochi muffins in these flavors anywhere else. 10/10 would recommend, try it and see for yourself! read more

Update: My dad ate the other snow bar, lol. At least I got a taste of the treat before he devoured the final piece. At least I know I can purchase more from Studio Zucchero (thank goodness). The mochi muffin is delicious! My fave one is the lemon blueberry, my bf loved all of them. It's better than the ones from boba guys and it's fresh! Apple walnut cake goes well with vanila ice cream. A great dessert after dinner. Can't wait to order more! read more

I got a sampler box of the mochis (blueberry+lemon, banana choc, cinnamon donut, pumpkin spice) and they threw in 2 bonus snow bars!  Mochi cakes were perfectly chewy, not too sweet, and still tasted great after sitting out for a couple days.  My favorites are the blueberry/lemon and banana choc (and I don't even like bananas.)   The snow bars samples were also amazing - I was very pleasantly surprised by their flaky-AND chewiness and I can't wait to try their new flavors.   Ordering and pickup was easy and personable as well - 100% would recommend :) read more

My first experience with mochi cakes! I ordered the sampler box with all the flavors - my favorite was the cinnamon sugar donut and the lemon blueberry. The cinnamon sugar donut wasn't too sweet as I may have expected and there was a little crunch from the sugar too. The texture of the mochi cake was a nice soft chewiness. The presentation in the box was super cute, which I would totally give as a gift to coworkers or family and friends. I haven't ordered online before, but the form was easy to fill out, and the owner contacted me with all the details on how to pick up - when I got there to pick up, it only took 1-2 minutes before I got my order. It also came with a free sample of the snow bars, which were like clouds but also gave me a nostalgic feeling of eating rice crispies as a kid, but with the perfect amount of sweetness, and oreo flavored! I'm addicted to Studio Zucchero's mochi muffins . They are really creative flavors that you can't find elsewhere and the chewy texture of the mochi is super addicting. My favorite is the blueberry lemon but the pumpkin one is also great, especially for the fall! The owner is super nice and gave me a free oreo snowbar which was super yummy. Wow. These mochi cakes are an absolute show stopper. They were soft and chewy with that perfect light crust you want in a bite. I love the variety of flavors, but my favorite was probably the cinnamon sugar. I don't typically see these in bakeries so it's awesome to find a place that not only bakes them, but bakes them so well. The ordering and pick up process were seamless and I loved the Lunar New Year touch on my box. I was also incredibly delighted to receive a free sprinkle cookie with my order!! Studio Zucchero's mochi muffins are so delicious! The wild blueberry one is my favorite - the pop of tanginess is mouthwatering and leaves you wanting more. Their mochi muffins aren't too sweet and have the right amount of flavor to even eat for breakfast! Also...their snow bars are the next generation of rice krispies!
