Cere Tea is my go-to place for delicious, strong matcha. The Double Matcha (with 70% sweetness) is my favorite drink there, but you can't go wrong with any of their matcha drinks. Even though recommended sweetness is 50%, I think 70% sweetness is perfect since I feel 50% is a bit too bitter for me. Interior is small with a couple of seats and you can order or the kiosk
Came back to try their Guave Lemon Tea with 75% sweet (recommended by the staff) and it is much better. Their drink menu is pretty unique. They have drinks that you don't usually see at other tea places. This is the tea place to come if you want unique and flavorful drinks. Will come back to try other drinks.
On a weekday afternoon, Cere Tea's seats were filled with people enjoying their drinks, but thankfully there was no line. I ordered on a kiosk and waited several minutes for my order. Their Cheese Brulee Tiger Boba Milk was delicious! The cheese taste complimented the more sweet and rich brown sugar boba and caramel topping. Service was friendly and fast!
My daughter and I were in the area and craving a matcha. This place was nearby, so we decided to give it a try. We ordered the Matcha Einspänner and Strawberry Matcha Einspänner, both of which were delicious. We definitely plan to return.It was busy and limited staff with only two employees, resulted in a long wait for our drinks.
We came on a weekday morning after lunch. There was little wait and we were able to order pretty quickly, however a line formed after we ordered. The ambiance is cute but there is limited space inside to sit. I ordered the Matcha Einspänner with 25% sugar, oat milk sub, easy ice and the regular 1 shot of matcha. The whipped cream at the top was delicious and not too sweet! The matcha part was also delicious but could use a bit more sugar, 25% was too little. I love that there are sugar, milk sub and ice options. Overall, I enjoyed my drink and will be back in the future to try other drinks on the menu!
Out of all the banana matchas that I've tried at VARIES matcha cafes, this one is the one. Order it, scoop a little bit of the banana topping then take a sip of the matcha and you'll understand. I mean tastes are subjective so it varies from person to person but I would definitely come back and try their other drinks to see if it hits like this banana matcha does. I wish there were more sitting area for people to come and study but it isn't built for it. FYI, there is not restroom so even if you were to sit here for a minute or longer, just be mindful.

You place your order at the kiosk. I ordered the passion mango green tea with 25% sweetness. My husband ordered the Black Sesame Höjicha Einspänner. Our order was ready in 5 minutes. The passion mango green tea was good. It was a bit too sweet but tasted nice. Next time I will have to ask for less sweetness. My husband loved his Black Sesame Höjicha Einspänner. It had a very strong sesame flavor. Next time I'm in the area I'll have to stop by and try other flavors.
The matcha here is unbeatable. I visited on a Saturday evening, and it was absolutely packed. The store itself is quite small, and all the tables were full. There was a long line and only a couple employees rapidly making drinks. They were honestly doing a great job, so the drinks arrived soon after ordering. There are kiosks for ordering, so there's not actually any interaction with the employees. The ambience of the store was boisterous and warm. It's definitely a popular spot, and all the people with their friends in the store help create a fun vibe. I'm genuinely so impressed with the variety of unique drinks here. There were so many matcha options and also milk teas, lattes, cheese brûlée milk, fruit teas. I wanted to try every single option on the menu. The strawberry matcha einspanner was the perfect matcha. The matcha flavor was deep and paired well with the sweet strawberry puree. The cream topping was fluffy and smooth. Each sip had all these delicious components, and I probably finished this drink in minutes. The sunny side up matcha einspanner was also phenomenal. The "egg" topping was absolutely adorable and delicious. The sweet mango syrup paired well with the earthy matcha flavor. Ceré Tea's matcha was so memorable, and I'll definitely be visiting again to try more drinks!
Loooove!! My favorite was the strawberry matcha latte, matcha is earthy and strawberry is gently sweet and the cream too was fun to eat with the freeze dried strawberry. The double matcha was good too. I took a sip of his sesame matcha latte and thought that was an odd combo because I thought the flavors compete more than complement but he liked it.
We ordered a matcha and a hojicha latte. Both customized with light ice and 50% sweetness. The hojicha tasted exactly as expected- rich roasted tea flavor. The 50% sweetness was perfect for this drink, but you must get a straw since the syrup sinks to the bottom. The matcha did not taste like it did when I came here for the first time (around 1 year ago). This time the matcha tasted tart and bitter, which is different than the sweet and umami notes from my previous experience. The tart note might be a one off experience, but I'd have to come again to confirm it. The store has 3 two seater tables. Most people opt to wait outside for their names to be called since there isn't too much standing room. You order on your own with the tablet at the front of the store. There is a bit of a wait for the drinks, but I'd say it's worth it.
Very impressed with Ceré Tea offerings. The average cost of these drinks are $7-8 but they eat like a dessert! Beautifully crafted and equally delicious. We ordered strawberry matcha einspanner and banana matcha einspanner - this thick whipped cream that goes on top of the drink is a Viennese-style beverage made to keep the drink nice and hot! I preferred my beverage cold though and the banana pudding that came with the matcha was perfect and just melted into the drink. The crumbles of vanilla wafers was a nice added touch, too. This will be my go-to spot whenever I'm craving banana cream matcha! #25-12-14

I had heard a lot about Cere Tea on social media and wanted to try so we headed over on a Saturday at around 10:30 am to get some drinks. They had some classic to flavors of matcha on their menu such as mango and strawberry that sounded good. Strawberry Matcha Einspanner - I opted for the einspanner because I wanted something on the sweeter side. The cream on the top was so fluffy and textured, it was enjoyable to scoop up with the small spoon. Mixed all together, the matcha flavor came through really well and was enhanced by the sweetness of the strawberry. I have gone back to get the same strawberry matcha einspanner a couple times and it hits every time. I would highly recommend going for their drinks especially if you need a little sweet treat or pick me up. read more

Cere Tea is a matcha lover's dream. There are so many different kinds of matcha drinks available! While this location is pretty far down in South Bay, they've started to slowly expand to places like Milpitas, Burlingame, and even San Francisco. The store itself is quite small but there are a small number of tables that you can sit down and enjoy your drink at, but because it's so small and the limited number of tables, the tables are often occupied. I always get the matcha einspanner. The matcha flavor is super strong, the cream topping is super fluffy and smooth - it's a thick drink for sure. Matcha lovers, I highly recommend checking out Cere if you're near one of their locations! read more
We came here after hearing about it so much that I finally had to try. Absolutely no regrets. This is one of those elevated matcha experiences that sets the bar for all other spots. Here's what we got: **Sunny Side Up Matcha Einspanner $7.75: A vibrant matcha base topped with a dollop of silky whipped cream, finished with a sunny side up 'egg' where the yolk is a sweet mango syrup. This drink had me saying "Oh wow!" after taking the first sip. After the second sip, it was "Was that a really ripe mini chunk of fresh mango?" This was so well executed that it felt effortless. It wasn't overly sweet-- the Matcha and the Mango flavors blended together beautifully yet you could make out the flavors of both. I usually scoff at how expensive drinks are these days but I could justify the price on this. **Black Sesame Coffee Einspanner $7.50: Signature espresso drink with our house-made Black sesame cream with your choice of milk. Another hit. I love Black Sesame and when I can find it, I order. This was also on par with the Sunny Side up because of how distinctly flavorful it was. You can taste the nuttiness of the black sesame seeds. Add in the espresso and it makes for a coffee that you could gulp down. Went with the matcha earl grey with an extra shot of matcha, light ice, and 50% sweet. It was the perfect afternoon treat! I think the extra shot of matcha really helped to give balance between the earl grey's floral notes and the grassy matcha. I was impressed by all the combinations Cere Tea offered with matcha from fruits (mango, strawberry, banana) to teas/flowers (osmanthus, earl grey). Some varieties were also available hot which would be right up my parents' alley. There were also fruit teas and more traditional milk teas if you wanted. Despite the small space, tables cleared up fairly quick as most people just sat to wait for their drinks. We weren't bothered for the hour that we sat to enjoy our drinks and I appreciated that. There are no restrooms inside but there's a McD across the way or Target is also a short drive away. read more
I came to Cere tea with a friend maybe an hour after opening - it was pretty busy, without any seating left open. It's a pretty narrow space, but still nice if you can grab a spot to sit. I got the mango matcha latte - unfortunately the mango seemed to be an artificial syrup, despite having some real chunks of mango in it. The matcha itself was quite nice, but the artificial taste of the syrup really took away from the overall drink. I tried my friend's matcha einspanner, and enjoyed that a lot more - definitely recommend getting this if you enjoy the taste of matcha. Overall, Cere Tea is a nice place to get a matcha latte. It's definitely on the pricier side, but I'll be back to get the matcha einspanner when I'm craving a good, flavorful matcha. read more

Had this place bookmarked for so long and was super excited to finally check it out!! Located in a plaza so finding parking was a non issue Came in with a friend on a Friday a little after 5:30pm and there were only a few other people inside. There isn't much seating, so it makes sense that people would choose to enjoy their drinks elsewhere. Ordered on the kiosk and only waited about five minutes before our drinks were ready! - Banana Matcha Einspanner (50% sweet) - I was expecting a strong banana flavor and was quite disappointed. Even when I was drinking from the top, I couldn't taste too much of the banana. The matcha flavor was also a bit weak. Tried the drink before and after mixing but the flavors still lacked the boldness I was hoping for - Sunny Side Up Matcha Einspanner (50% sweet) - the yellow part of the drink is actually mango! Thought the name was quite cute. I tried a sip of my friend's order, and you can definitely taste the mango (especially since the straw was right at the bottom of the drink where the syrup was lol). However, similar to my drink, the flavor of the matcha didn't come through much I really wanted to like this place, but for drinks that cost ~$8 each, I would expect bold flavors. This was unfortunately not the case, and I don't think either of us were very satisfied. Would maybe be open to trying their double matcha if any friends really wanted to come here, but otherwise, I don't see myself coming back. read more

I really liked the matcha here. The size was pretty decent, and the einspänner-style cream on top was a really nice touch and it added a smooth creaminess that balanced the drink well. I got the double shot with no ice (+$1.50 extra), and I actually really liked the stronger flavor. Personally, I think one shot might've been a bit too weak for me, so the double was definitely the right move if you like a more pronounced matcha taste. Overall, really enjoyed the flavor and texture of the drink. I'd come back again and probably order it the same way. read more

A charming tea spot with matcha einspanners! Decent amount of parking in a smaller plaza. There's around 3 tables for seating inside the store. Self order at the kiosk and the drinks come out quickly if there's no wait. Items Ordered: - Banana Pudding Matcha Einspanner ($8.50): Comes with a lot of banana cream/pudding and graham cracker crumbs! Even though I got whole milk, it tasted like it had oats or oat milk in it, possibly from the banana cream. Pretty creamy and smooth overall. - Sunny Side Up Matcha Einspanner ($7.75): The drink is designed like a sunny side up egg on the top but it's actually mango syrup! Delicious and love the mango flavor. - Earl Grey Matcha Latte ($7.25): Earl grey flavor is subtle but pairs well with the matcha. read more
My absolute favorite spot in the San Jose area. I take all of my friends here and every one of them has loved it as well! I have yet to try the houjichas but all of the matchas are delicious if you love a creamy less grassy type. Little seating but it is matcha so I wouldn't expect a place to have a lot of seating. Ceré Tea has one of the best banana cream matcha in San Jose! Try it here and you can thank me later. The store is modestly nestled next to Gu'eum Bakery, one of my favorite stores. I've always seen long line in front of Cere every time I came picking up cakes at Gu'eum and I've been always so curious! One day I let that curiosity lead me into the store and I've never looked back! Cere is compact yet so cute inside. Bright interior and 3-4 tables, each having 2-3 chairs, tastefully arranged to make the store feel cozy yet more spacious than it actually is. There's a self ordering station which you can order and customize your drink. Ours came out within 10 minutes. The staff was kind and said thank you when I came up and grabbed our drinks. The banana pudding matcha I ordered was so creamy and smooth! I love bits of crunchy biscuits inside the banana pudding which added extra textures and made the drink so interesting. I couldn't help but drank sips after sips because the drink was so phenomenal! I texted my bestie right away to tell her that I found one of the best banana matcha places in San Jose read more
Ceré Tea has truly become my new go-to for matcha!My absolute holy grail is the Strawberry Matcha Einspänner. The combination of the vibrant, not-too-sweet strawberry and the rich, authentic matcha is perfectly balanced. I'm also obsessed with their Black Sesame Expresso. It's a unique flavor that you don't see many places, and Ceré Tea does it flawlessly. The nutty and roasted of the black sesame complement the expresso bitterness so well. I've recommended this place to my coworkers, and they all loved it! The service and quality are always amazing. Sweet boba spot in a plaza with ample parking. General location is also near a plethora of other plazas and shops which makes Cere Tea a great stop. Their sugar levels feel off by one level though. A 25% sweetness tasted closer to 50% for me. Small space for seating inside. Tablet to order on so no major service. Boba Milk Tea - as with classic milk teas, this has a black tea base. It's subtle though as the tea isn't too strong. Seems to be a blend of tea and creamer instead of milk. Overall, the drink is on the creamier end of the spectrum (more creamer to tea ratio). Boba was plentiful as seen in the picture, a generous amount for fanatics. Cooked well with a near perfect texture but no flavor, so after finishing the milk tea, all that's left is flavorless chew which isn't my preference. Passion Mango - with most fruit teas I'd recommend going lighter sugar because when made well, fructose elevates the sweetness on fruit tea. This one is no different as the drink was still fairly sweet at reduced levels. Passionfruit added a subtle bitterness as well. read more
Tried the Kokuto Hojicha Einspinner and ordered ahead. It was ready very quickly and worried it would be melted by the time i arrived but it was still good. This was the tastiest Hojicha ive had! I added red bean as well. Overall loved! I want to be back for the banana again. read more
Finally, an Earl Grey Matcha Latte that isn't overly sweet. You can customize the sweetness level, which I really appreciate. I went with 25%, and it was just right with a hint of sweetness that still lets the flavors of the matcha and earl grey come through. The matcha wasn't whisked individually, but it still tasted good and wasn't grainy at all. I'd definitely recommend it and now I'm curious to try some of their other drinks. We stopped by right when they opened on a Saturday morning. You place your order on an iPad, which was quick and easy. There was a long line when I visited on a Saturday afternoon, which isn't surprising given the popularity. The store is quite small, so it's not ideal for big groups or hanging out for long periods. I tried the Matcha Einspänner with no ice and added an extra shot of matcha! totally worth it!The foam held up impressively for over two hours, even outside! I also had the Earl Grey latte, which was very flavorful and unique. Both tea flavors stood out in the best way. The Hojicha latte had a fixed sugar level, but it was nicely balanced. I'd definitely come back for the drinks, but the space is tight and the wait can be long. So it depends if you're up for that! read more
This place offers a good quality matcha drink that I would recommend trying if you can. Interior wise, there isn't a lot of space but a good decent amount. Service was pretty good where they were able to get the drinks out pretty fast. My husband got the Matcha Einspanner and he said it was pretty good compared to other places he has tried. Drink 5/5 Matcha Einspanner with 50% sweet was the perfect balance for me. The matcha doesn't taste diluted despite the ice in the drink and has layers of flavors as the crème top gets mixed into the matcha. Vienna latte was a hit as well. Definitely recommend this place and tastes better than some of the matcha places in the Bay. Service 4/5 Self ordering kiosk located inside the store. Not so much service here but staffs are on top of making the drinks and not letting the wait get too long. Ambiance 4/5 Small space inside the cafe and can prob fit three parties. read more
It's an UberEat experience but a bunch of us were so disappointed. First off, just minutes after the online order before 2pm, a few of our orders were sold out and we had to reorder. Then the order came and half of them were completely wrong! My simple matcha latte with red bean never showed up. My coworker complained her matcha Einspanner tasted like diluted water with a block of fatty cream on top. I eventually settled with the Hojitcha latte but it was nothing spectacular, just a mixed tea drink. It's so unfortunate that we are in matcha shortage now, but it didn't justify how wrong this whole experience went. read more
SOOOO good! Truly the best matcha in the Bay Area. They hand whisk each order and I come back from the east coast just for their earl grey matcha- it's to die for!! The Vienna latte was great too. The space itself is pretty small and drinks usually take about 15-20 minutes depending on how busy they are. Not much space to wait inside so it's best to wait outside or nearby when it's crowded. Minus one star because they usually text you when your order is ready but today they didn't. I had to keep periodically coming back to check several times and when it was finally done I couldn't say how long our drinks were sitting out on the counter for. Otherwise, great place. read more
I came here to Cere Tea because my friends and I were just across the street, and we've heard good things about this place on social media. There was a long line here on a hot Sunday afternoon, and we waited for 15-20 minutes before we could even take our order on the self-serve kiosk. The wait was indeed worth it; the Banana Pudding Matcha Einspanne was easily a 5/5. I got less ice with 0% sweetness, and it was still very tasty. The matcha and the banana pudding were such an excellent pairing. My reason for giving 4 stars instead of 5 stars came down to the ambiance. Cere Tea had no AC on a blazing hot day, and there was literally no place inside or outside the store to enjoy our drink. Expanding the store to suit more guests would not be doable, but adding more seating outside would be the perfect solution. Despite this, however, the trip is worth it, definitely one of the best matcha spots in the Bay Area! read more
there were some other customers, but line moved quick and the wait wasnt too bad. the inside is more of a grab and go place with minimal seating and i saw some people waiting in their cars. i got the banana pudding einspanner (7.5/10) and honestly it was pretty good. the banana pudding was strong and paired pretty well with the matcha. would def be interested in trying some of their other drinks!! read more

Came here out of curiosity as I heard good things about this place. There is a decent level of parking outside (though the parking lot was semi-crowded) and there is a pleasant ambiance with a small amount of seating. The service was alright - nothing too extraordinary, though the baristas were chatting with one of the other customers and at one point were filming something for what I assume was the company's social media page. The wait felt long, but I don't think either of the factors that I mentioned had affected it. I got the strawberry matcha einspanner, which was much thicker than I had expected and needed to be eaten with a spoon. It was pleasant, though felt more like a dessert than a drink. The matcha probably could've been stronger as well, though this is probably from me being spoiled by places with stronger Overall not too bad of an experience. Visited on a Sunday afternoon a little before 2pm. There was a line when we arrived but it wasn't long. There were a few people ahead of us and our drinks came out pretty quick after we placed our order. There were a lot of drinks on the menu that I wanted to try, but I ended up going with the Banana Pudding Matcha Einspänner. I love banana pudding on its own so I was very intrigued to see how it would taste with matcha. Overall, the drink was okay. The banana pudding was very yummy, but it overpowered the matcha. I would've liked to taste the matcha more. The banana pudding was also too sweet for my liking. The banana pudding matcha was just not for me.
