I wasn't expecting much, but the service I received was priceless. I showed up an hour early to pick up my truck, fortunately they were able to accommodate, but I'm sure it's probably not best practice since trucks come and go so often. Alex took me out, showed me around the truck, noted a handful of defects I would've overlooked, made sure my car was attached well, and gave me driving tips that I desperately needed. Penske will let anyone rent one of these trucks, but don't let that get you thinking they're easy to drive; they're brutal. Ask Alex plenty of questions. I found out he has a CDL, but he explained things in a way I could understand. I went from driving a Honda CR-Z in the morning, to driving a 16' truck with my car hooked on the back with a tow dolly (get the insurance on this at the least, I scraped up my front bumper getting the car on and will claim it and have them fix it). My drive was 1200 miles (mostly highway, fortunately), and it took 400ish miles for me to start feeling really comfortable. I was never able to get comfortable driving in the city. Getting off the highway was a daunting task, and I tried to do so as seldom as possible. I don't know how this place is for their storage since I only came for truck pickup, but the lot looked clean, quiet, and safe. I wouldn't normally write a review for such an interaction, but I'm 100% certain I would've ruined my car or wrecked the truck if it weren't for the time Alex took happily answering my questions and giving me tips.

The swamp cooler didn't work for 2 years but you can spend money on a whole new building with air conditioning!!! Approximately 2 months ago I received an email informing that work was to be completed on the elevator that brings renters to the 2nd floor. I am a disabled citizen and although the service would be very inconvenient perhaps it was necessary. Well, the elevator IS STILL under repair. I spoke with an attorney who represents clients with American Disabilities Association issues and was informed in part that since there WAS another elevator in the structure I could not claim that I was being prevented access to my owned property. Yes, there is indeed a second elevator but it is almost 50 YARDS from my end of the building. I filed a negative review to proclaim my situation and was contacted by a women (Upper management?) who first acted somewhat surprised that I was disabled but not offered no resolution except to refund me 1/2 month rental. What is this small refund supposed to do? I find the business practices of Extra Space Storage to be unbelievably anti-customer and the attitude of the management personnel to be insulting. I can only say that they WILL get their deserved rewards in the afterlife.
