First solo adventure in Arizona -- and wow, what a magical little experience. I stopped into Stumblina's Cantina in Cave Creek and instantly loved the vibe. I ordered the prickly pear margarita and it was absolute perfection -- not too sweet, not too sour, just a smooth little sipper with the most gorgeous fuchsia pink color. Honestly, it's as pretty as it is delicious. The queso dip was another standout. It has a nice kick (not overwhelming, but definitely some spice), with just a few whole beans mixed in. If you're sensitive to spice, you might find it a little bold -- but if you enjoy flavor, it hits the spot. They offer both classic tortilla chips and kettle chips for dipping, which was fun because each one gives the queso a totally different taste experience. I tried both -- and loved both. Service was wonderful. My waitress (Serena) was genuinely sweet, friendly, and gave great recommendations -- both of which were spot-on. The setting really makes this place special. Around 4:30 p.m. on a Monday it was peaceful and relaxed. The view outside is beautiful -- mountains in front, charming garden scenery near the Prickly Pear Inn, little shops nearby, and plenty of people-watching and car-watching if you're dining solo. It's the perfect spot to just sit, sip, and soak in the Arizona energy. If you're single, exploring, or just want a relaxing escape with great views, good drinks, and flavorful food, this is a great stop. Definitely a magical Cave Creek moment for me. read more

Stumblina's served another catered meal for a group of people. Yum, shredded chicken and pork for tacos, coleslaw, cauliflower, Southwest corn, chips and guacamole along with choices of different beverages. What a feast! The cauliflower is smoky and tasty. The shredded chicken is always a hit in my book. It looked like the pork was also desired by many. Their guacamole is made differently than the usual and I do like their version. First time trying this place and I was definitely satisfied. We got the fried pickles, chicken fried steak, and Southwestern burger. My chicken fried steak came with mashed potatoes, cornbread, and house salad. My favorite were the mashed potatoes, so creamy! A group of us had dinner here tonight. We eat out local (Cave Creek/Carefree/N Scottsdale) once a month for the last 20+ years and I'm not sure why we haven't been here before. The food was great, the portions large and the setting perfect. But what made our evening most enjoyable was the service that we received from Sereana M. She was helpful, made recommendations, attentive to our asks and always had a smile on her face. I would say she is the best server ever! She went above and beyond and even helped our friend escape after she got stuck in the bathroom stall due to a broken lock. We will be back to enjoy the great food and the wonderful hospitality. This restaurant has a great vibe, not too touristy, just the right amount of "welcoming to all". The service is perfect, attentive, and knowledgeable about the food being served. The food was fresh, hot, and well-presented. I was not crazy over the corn fritters, but perhaps it was a spin on what I was expecting. Hamburgers are a great choice, as are the nachos. Plenty of cocktails to choose from also. We will be back to try other things on the menu. read more

Great food when it's not overcooked (cod) or contaminated with peanut butter like my chicken sandwich. The aroma and flavor was unmistakeable. I sent it back to ask for a new one no biggie but they said: we took it apart and there is no peanut butter on here. Well it might not be on it but one whiff will tell you it's there. They have it on the menu for their build your own burger section. So despite the waitress saying that they don't even have it in house, that's a lie because she specifically stated the only thing they were "out of" was mint. They refused to remake it and tried to get me to order something else but since there was no guarantee it wouldn't also have peanut butter(because they DO NOT HAVE IT which is a lie) I sat while my party ate. read more

Good service, good food, nice selection of drinks and good atmosphere. I had the pulled pork tacos and they were juicy and flavorful - so much meat packed in! Well seasoned. I feel like they just hire anybody. Whether they're rude and have snarky remarks to our requests or someone who forgets things after being reminded three times (and no it's not the food or anything like that) Anyways the food was great! I really enjoyed everything about it. Even the drinks were good. Everything about this place was great except our interactions with the staff. Try it out though! It has a pretty view on the deck of the hill and houses but it can get loud since the main road is right there as well. Good for people watching and relaxing under the sun. read more

After reading the yelp reviews we choose Stumblina's. There were 5 of us and we each thoroughly enjoyed our meals. 3 of us had the Bat Masterson, 1 had the chicken fried steak and the final one had cauliflower tacos. This restaurant is located in a cute little plaza with lots of shops. Some sell beautiful furniture and art while others just sell stuff that sells. I'll leave my comment there. The menu is being re-vamped so the potato options, which we came for, were discontinued. So were a few other dishes. The drinks were ok. When I say ok I mean I could have put the mix and alcohol together at home and had the same results for less cost. So they were ok nothing oooooh aaaaaah. Food was average. Also nothing stood out no special spice blend. I ordered mine medium it came out more well done. When we paid no one came to get our payment once the card was run. I did put a cash tip and wanted change but after 20 min we were done with this place and they got over 30% that was not really worth it. Over all. The staff got the star as in the beginning he was great just ignored us after we paid and the food did not make us sick so yay!! read more

It was bike week when we stumbled into this place, but it's too cute on the inside and has a great big patio with live music outside. We had only been here once before for drinks, so we came back to try the food. The food did not disappoint! The nachos and wings were my favorite! The medium Buffalo sauce was right on point! The service was a bit slow otherwise it would have been 5 stars, but our server was also bartending so I'm guessing they are short staffed like most places still. Let's see: Two stars or three? Well, I won't be back so, yeah, two stars. First, this place is gorgeous. Clearly a lot of artistic inspiration went into this place and it may well be the most beautiful venue in Cave Creek and Carefree. But, unfortunately, purtyness don't mean nuthin' without good food. The food my mother and I had all tasted as if delivered by S.E. Rykoff in freezer bags and five-gallon bottles: * Bagged lettuce * Over-salted boringly-breaded mushy shrimp * Balsamic dressing seemingly from Wishbone * Tartar sauce that couldn't be anything more than an admixture of mayo and pickle relish. If you want some seriously good shrimp, get the frozen Panko Shrimp from Costco. I'm kinda sad that a groovy restaurant right in my 'hood serves disappointing food. read more

Location; right off Cave Creek road heading into Cave Creek, super cute western/rustic place with inside and outside seating. Food; Taco's these are like tex/mex which if you have been following me, I am a bit cranky when it comes to mexican food, which is my favorite foods. But these to me were like homemade large taco dishes, but the fish tacos were pretty good. I do want to go back and try the Burgers, on next trip. I visited Stumblina's for the dueling piano ugly Christmas sweater party. Each person was given a bag of homemade Christmas cookies, that were seriously good. I'd love the recipes. Such a fun night. Everyone was having a blast singing along with the music. The staff were great. Everybody was dressed up and posed with each table for pictures. Accidentally ended up here and so happy we did! El Canto next door is closed on Mondays, so we saw this place right next door, left our car in ElCantos parking lot and walked over. What an amazing place, the ambiance was a old time saloon, to the point where we weren't sure if it was an old saloon or a new build to look like an old saloon. No joke u want cod that is quarter inch thick and previously frozen, go ahead and order that, u want frozen shrimp that are tiny but caked in corn meal flour, go ahead and order.... Will never go back for food... go across from them and have some Mexican food with a pretty awesome pond view!!! Plus it was packed so u know food was great!!!! Cute, small vintage style bar and restaurant with a nice size bar and comfortable seating. I had the pulled pork sandwich with fries and cold slaw on the side. The slaw was weird. It had lettuce in it, no vinegar, vinegar flavor but tasted like it was only mixed with Mayo. I don't care for slaw to begin either but this stuff wasn't a true slaw. However, the sandwich was delicious. The pork was tender and juicy and the bread was fresh. There was a good amount of pork on my sandwhich and the BBQ sauce had a nice smoky, sweet flavor. The sandwich was delicious but the fries were some of the best I've ever had. They are sliced thin and in the shape of a chip and fried to perfection... crispy on the outside yet with a nice potatoey smoothness on the inside. The cod sandwich was crispy and fried to perfection. Drinks were tasty, refreshing and nicely balanced. Service was great too. read more
