We've belonged to three ballet studios (we've moved a few times) and have been here the longest. This school impresses me with the level of quality instruction starting with the youngest kids. At a previous dance studio, the "Pre-ballet" or "Ballet I" classes were taught by young college students (and even one high school senior) who were trying to get teaching experience. Here, every teacher we have had has been a professional and has instructed the kids as such. The atmosphere is caring and loving but also fairly serious. You are following in the footsteps of many dancers who have attended the school over 52 years and have gone on to dance careers. The Nutcracker performance sells out at UB every year, and the end of the year recital (also at UB) is an enormous production. This is not the YMCA's music and movement class. They offer ballet, pointe, acro, contemporary, lyrical, hip hop, Broadway dance, jazz and tap, as well as adult ballet classes. The cost seems comparable to other dance studios in the area, and there is a discount for families. The school also offers camps in the summer, including a "Princess camp" for girls 8 and younger that seems very popular.

Prices are very fair for everything included, especially since you're allowed to stay all day and you have re-entry on the daily pass. They do sell extremely limited food options, but with the re-entry you could easily go for food and come back. No outside food is allowed except water and baby formula. Fair. The amenities inside are perfect for toddler to elementary aged kids. When I asked my daughters if they liked it they said "Five stars! They even had a volcano slide! How cool is that?" It is really cool, to be honest. They also had a zip line, a ball pit, a rope bridge and imagination play. AND you can do all of this dressed like a princess. Every time I turned around my daughter was dressed in a different costume. We spent three hours here, no problem. They also advertised birthday parties, and a summer camp options. Everything was thoughtfully planned, from sanitizer stations and step stools in the bathrooms, to locker/cubbies for storing shoes and other belongings. Heads up! Socks are required for everyone- even parents. One minor issue was limited seating for adults who weren't playing, but thankfully that wasn't an issue late on a Tuesday evening. We had a blast here, and for $30 it was an easy outing for the wallet.

They ordered our pizza for us so we didn't have to pick it up or sign for it (we did still pay for it and chose what to get from Pescis Pizza) You're able to decorate the room 15 mins before the start of your party. We brought in a cooler of drinks for the guests and cupcakes. That along with the pizza felt like enough time for our 45mins in the room after bouncing for an hour. We had kids ranging from 2-10 and I think all the kids had a blast. They texted me a few days prior to check in and provide electronic waivers for guests to fill out prior and reminded to have everyone wear socks. I really appreciated them texting vs calling it's just so much easier.

My daughter mostly just runs around and lives her best life but she's picked up a few new dance moves. You pay a monthly fee and go once a week as your "home class". They also offer unlimited classes in the summer which is included. Miss Rachel is great with all of the kids, even when it's a bit chaotic. I enjoy at the end of each class the kids get to wind down a bit and color a picture before they leave. We hope to stick with this studio as my daughter grows :)

The Clarence Senior Center is my mom's home-away-from-home. She's 80 and I don't know what she or I…read morewould do without this fantastic place! The senior center's director is an amazing woman who really cares about not just her job, but for those for whom she does this job. And the activities director is also pretty fantastic. She makes sure the seniors have movie nights, exercise classes, relevant guest speakers, and even fun trips. There are a lot of volunteer opportunities at the senior center as well. The building is sometimes used as a shelter during storms, and some of the seniors will volunteer to work during these times. In addition, it's used as a polling place, where many seniors find opportunities to serve their community. My mom also volunteers in the kitchen sometimes helping to prepare meals, at the front desk, and wherever else there's a need. She has delivered meals for Meals on Wheels through a program at the Clarence Senior Center. Every month we get a newsletter in the mail that outlines all the great programs that are available to members. Some things are there every month: weekly Bingo, Pinochle, Wood working, and a few other things. But then sometimes there are local trips, like to the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute and restaurant. They occasionally have mystery tours as well, where the travelers signed up don't know where they are going until they get there. Those are always fun trips (I know because my mom has asked me to join her on a few of them). If you've got a parent or loved one who is looking for somewhere they can go to play cards or Bingo or just to hang out and meet other seniors, this is a safe and welcoming environment. I highly recommend checking it out!
