The location is beautiful but felt the coffee was a lil overpriced and the pastry a little deceiving. I got a pistachio rose croissant ($6.50) which... looked different than the one in the display case. It was disappointing to receive such a flattened croissant when the display one was raised properly. Flavor was good but since it was so flattened, the texture wasn't what you'd expect from a croissant. Not sure if they offer pastries warmed up, was not offered so I'm assuming they do not. The persimmon cobbler latte ($8) was good but I'm not sure if enough of the flavor was coming through. And for the price, it was a little underwhelming. Service was fine and as stated, the interior was aesthetically pleasing. They also had outdoor seating. Maybe it was an off day for the pastry. I was a loyal, regular customer across several Roseline locations until June 13th, when I was banned from all locations by a barista named Celia. I had come in as a paying customer, sat quietly in the corner reading a book while waiting for my husband. Celia approached me and initiated a conversation, which escalated into her yelling at me and physically removing me from the premises, all while I remained calm throughout. This was corroborated by an independent customer who witnessed the incident and left their own 1-star review the following day. What followed was equally disappointing. I attempted to resolve this privately over the course of nearly six weeks through multiple channels -- their contact form, direct emails to hello@roselinecoffee.com, and direct outreach to ownership on LinkedIn. I received no response and was ultimately blocked without acknowledgment. A ban issued across all locations by a single staff member, stemming from a personal conflict she initiated, that goes unreviewed and unacknowledged by ownership, speaks volumes about the culture at Roseline. I genuinely loved this coffee shop and wanted nothing more than to resolve this privately. That opportunity was never extended to me. read more

We discovered Roseline by a very happy little accident because it was very close to our hotel (The Porter) and open on a weekend, which is the key when you're navigating Hood to Coast timing and trying to squeeze in a shower between relay legs. Roseline is located inside an office building and it has a clean, modern aesthetic with a low-key vibe. I ordered a matcha latte and it was smooth and lightly sweetened which is just how I like it. The prices were fair and service was friendly. It's not a spot I'd necessarily go out of my way for but if you're staying nearby it's a great option to have in your back pocket. As a super plus, they have coffee tastings that makes for a fun couple or group activity! So I only got to try one of their drinks which was phenomenal, the Salted Maple Hazelnut Latte. But we did buy some coffee bean bags to take home and brew as a pour over which was flavorful. I appreciated having the flavor notes written on the bag so I could feel like a true coffee connoisseur in my own home. Just moved to Portland and Roseline was the local spot we tried on our first official morning. What a start! I tried the Salted Maple Hazelnut Latte - My words, "dark, smoky, toasty, and nutty. This is not the sticky sweet store bought hazelnut and I love it! My partner tried the Grape Soda Coffee - His words, "...for the adventurous pallet, very enjoyable, worth trying at least once." I absolutely agree and would add that it has a solid grape scent to it, but the taste is more of a complex, mature, spiced, and fruity flavor. Loved the mid-century modern vibes of the interior space! Beautiful orange couches, tiered lounge area, outlets for working, bright, airy, and fulls of gorgeous plants. I found this new place that opened up just 3 months ago while riding around on the lime scooters! So happy to have tried their two seasonal drinks, iced cherry bean matcha and miso caramel latte. The ice cherry bean matcha (sub oat milk) had the perfect matcha balance, not too bitter but not too light. The fruity cherry syrup added to it made it the perfect refreshing flavored drink. I wasn't sure what to expect when I ordered the miso caramel, but it is delicious. It tastes like a silky warm toasted caramel candy. It is a bit on the sweeter side, but that's typical of anything caramel related. I really liked this drink. So glad I found this place while visiting! read more

Long a fan of Roseline Coffee, I make it a priority to visit the Alberta location whenever I'm in town from SF and was thrilled they were in the Woodlark hotel. I stumbled upon the NE Davis location and was taken with the design but turned off by the service of one male staff member in particular. Aside from not making eye contact and mumbling at a nearly inaudible level he has acted annoyed and inconvenienced to take orders during both visits. He simply couldn't be bothered. When there are myriad choices in Portland for great coffee, vibe matters. He could take a page from his teammates at the Alberta and Woodlark hotel locations. I was so excited to see this location of Roseline open up. Even though Portland is so saturated with coffee, Roseline still remains a consistent offering in the city even as it expands. This location is also a roastery, and the smell of fresh coffee hits the senses upon entering. The interior design reminds me of the 70s with its groovy colors and curvy benches. We ordered an oat milk cortado and one of their specialty drinks. The specialty drink was similar to an espresso tonic, but with the espresso syrup that they use, the drink almost ended up taking licorice-y and was a really interesting flavor combination that I thought was pretty creative. I wish I had more time to actually sit down and take it all in, so I guess I'll just have to come back to sit down and truly enjoy the full experience! read more
