Stopped by Spella for the first time today. Ordered an espresso. There's a small counter where you can drink it if you get it to stay. I also got a complimentary sparkling water to cleanse my palate. The espresso is hand pulled and tastes great. If you buy a bag of beans you get a free espresso. Will definitely be back for that. The space is tiny but service is great.

I got a creamy delicious latte from Spella, promptly made within 2 minutes (felt like record speed) so I could catch the bus. Thank you! Definitely coming back :)

Small, cool looking spot with some of the best coffee in town. We had cappuccinos. They were top notch. They have some of their gelato and some chocolates as well from woodblock. They were out of pastries.

We stayed at a hotel nearby and saw this coffee had high ratings. It's a pretty straightforward menu... pretty sure it's aunthentic italian coffee. I got the iced latte and an almond crossaint and it was so delicious. I'm usually a super sweet coffee girl but the coffee was so rich and tasty without any added sweetener. The barista was alone and was super friendly although it was a bit of a rush in there.

An absolute gem. So small and cute, and right in from of the Trimet 15 line stop. Not only was coffee great but service was quick. There is no more convenient coffee stop in Portland!

    Great cappuccino!

    Front entrance, happy customers!

We have traveled the world tasting every type of process from almost every region known to man. I always make it my mission to find the best cup of joe in town, so when I read about Push X Pull, I was hoping it was something we would remember. Luckily, we snagged a parking spot right in front of the shop. As we entered, the baristas were friendly and welcoming. We ordered a drip in a to-go cup and my partner couldn't stop talking about how great the cup of coffee was. We tried buying a bag of Galaxy Hops co-fermented beans, but unfortunately for us they sold out in both locations. Overall, highly recommend! It is the perfect spot to get some work done or simply hangout and talk. There is both indoor and outdoor seating which was nice.

Got a latte with their Ethiopia natural beans and it was lovely, roasty and bright within being acidic. The staff was engaging and attentive, the space industrial feeling and clean and the coffee top notch. Definitely on our must stop lost in Portland!

We took a last-morning stroll through downtown Portland and, on the walk back to our hotel,…read morerealized we wanted something warm and a short pause. That's how we ended up at Courier Coffee Roasters and it turned out to be the perfect pit stop. The shop itself is small and unassuming, but the moment we walked in it felt inviting and calm. The staff was genuinely wonderful. My partner ordered an Americano and was asked which cup he preferred, two different styles. He asked if they were the same size, and that simple question turned into the most endearing moment. Since the barista didn't know, she checked the bottoms of the cups for size markings (no luck), then filled one with water to see if it would pour evenly into the other, and finally put them on the scale. Verdict: same size. The curiosity and genuine desire to give us a real answer was just lovely. I ordered a hojicha tea, which was very well prepared and hit the spot. My partner said his coffee was smooth and really good. We also grabbed a pear muffin, nicely done, with generous chunks of pear (skin on, which I loved). My partner ordered a chocolate chunk cookie, which disappeared quickly. There was a record player on the counter with a mellow morning album playing, adding to the relaxed feel. The whole space and everyone working there felt warm, friendly, and welcoming. If you live nearby or are visiting like we were, this is a great place to slow down, warm up, and enjoy genuinely good coffee, tea, and hospitality.

I have mixed feelings about my visit this morning. There is so much to love about the vibe here,…read morebut the actual drink execution left me frustrated. The Pros: First off, the staff is incredibly sweet and friendly. They make you feel welcome the second you walk in. The modern, cool design of the space is top tier. It is exactly the kind of atmosphere you want when grabbing a coffee in Portland. I also love their progressive approach to dairy; they default to plant based milks and there is no upcharge for them, which is a huge win for accessibility and sustainability. The Cons: Unfortunately, the experience was completely undercut by the quality of the pour. The oat milk curdled almost immediately. I am well aware that Stumptown uses a more naturally acidic brew, which is a science experiment waiting to happen with plant milks, and I know it is technically safe to drink. However, the separation completely ruins the mouthfeel. Instead of a creamy, cohesive sip, I was left with a watery base and grainy floaties. It is disappointing to be told that this is normal when specialty cafes have the tools like barista grade buffers and temperature control to prevent this. While the ethics and the aesthetic are on point, a drink that looks and feels curdled just is not an acceptable standard to serve to customers. Summary: Great people, great space, great pricing, but the technical execution of the plant based drinks needs a serious overhaul.

There was plenty of seating available inside and outside on their patio. The service was delightful when taking our drink orders. The raspberry danish latte on their seasonal menu sounded scrumptious but the raspberry and the acidity of the coffee tasted a bit too sweet and tart for our liking. The black sesame matcha latte was also met with disappointment; the matcha tasted more like a steeped green tea with no earthy or umami notes. The black sesame helped deepen the flavor profile but I would not order it again. My friend's iced latte was my favorite out of the drinks that I sampled so perhaps I should order one of their classic coffees next time instead.

In a world where all coffee joints more or less run together, it was refreshing to see something that has more of a distinctly local flavor. The building is light and airy with a very large patio, extremely well laid out both on the exterior and interior, with plenty of places to sit and chat, eat, or work. The food menu, Weill, not expensive, offers a little bit of something for everyone. My friend opted for toast with butter and honey and a small hot chocolate made with almond milk. I, having just come from a lunch meeting, just had a large mocha. Placing the order was fast and accurate, and when the drinks were prepared, we were called up to retrieve them. While we were fetching them, a mere feet away, somebody delivered the toast to the table! We were quite surprised by that and a bit delighted. Definitely not expected. Sadly, no pictures of either food or drink this time - the toast evaporated before I had a chance, and to be honest, I find pictures of plain white paper cups pretty boring. Perhaps next time. The location is right on the edge of Ladd's Edition, just south of Hawthorne at the intersection of 12th and Clay. It's a delightful neighborhood, one that I often aspired to live in before I settled in where I am currently. Highly recommended, I'll definitely be back soon
