My daughter wanted to go here for her birthday. We had a blast! There were 4 of us. When we arrived we were the only ones there. We ended up getting the package with the extra items to throw. It was only $10 per person and came with quite a few different items. My daughter and I were nervous at first but after a while we became more comfortable. Besties day at Bury the Hatchet was a success! We purchased a deal through Groupon for one hour of play. Foxxe was our Axe Master and he was great. He explained the rules thoroughly from start to finish with great detail and supplied us with all the tips and tricks to have a successful day. I was worried at first thinking it'd be a waste because there was no way I'd be successful in making any shots but I was wrong. We made lots of shots and half of us even hit the bullseye! By the time we got going and split into teams the competition got heated and we were thinking we were axe masters. We wanted another hour. LOL It's BYO food and beverage so we brought in a few beers. There were beverages there (soft drinks) I believe for purchase. Music was on point. My type of tunes. An array of hard rock and metal. What can go wrong getting pumped on metal music and throwing axes? Ha! You have a choice between throwing an axe or a tomahawk. Use whichever you prefer. I stuck with the tomahawk as it was lighter than the axe and I felt more in control. You must be wearing closed shoes. No open toes! Walk ins are welcome but it's always best to reserve ahead. I went with my partner for a yelp elite event and I was scared for my life because we argued driving up... lol All jokes aside, this place was great! It has 9 lines with wooden targets. It is BYOB believe it or not. You sign a waiver prior to throwing. There are Axe Masters who are there for your safety and will successfully teach you how to properly throw the axe so your experience is just as great as mine. They work off of tips as well just a side note. They have picnic benches to relax with friends, eat, drink, and wait until it's your turn to bury the hatchet. The staff were all knowledgeable and were not strict at all but made sure you and your team was safe. There is a huge Jinga! Also, other cool games as well. At first I was hesitate to try it because I didn't really see how throwing an axe could be fun. But boy I was wrong. Even without alcohol consumption, I truly had a blast. Our instructor, Kevin, was super helpful and friendly where he gave great pointers as it was my first time. I finally got a hang of it and got pretty decent after awhile. We had basically played every game they had provided on a packet along with instructions. The vibes were great and the staff was super dope. But two thumbs up for Kevin and his lessons! I also want to say a big thanks to our new CM Katarina as she continues to do an excellent job in her new role. I had never gone axe throwing so I didn't really know what to expect. All I know that Yelp events are always entertaining. The owner and staff of Bury the Hatchet were very friendly and very helpful in teaching us how to safely throw axes and to prevent any injuries. I honestly think this place will do very good, its very spacious and you can bring own food and drinks. Bury the Hatchet is a great place to visit for an adventurous date night or a fun night out with friends. The staff make it very interesting and I think you will leave wanting to do it all over again. So I would definitely recommend giving them a try, throw the axe and release the frustration after a stressful week or just come have some fun. I came here for an elite event for yelp and returning back did not disappoint. I was here with my family and I believed my cousins enjoyed quite a lot. The idea is simple, yet barbaric. The person who was us was great and he was very patient with teaching the people who weren't very comfortable with throwing the hatchet. It is quite unfortunate that I do not know his name. It was a two hour session and beside throwing our hearts out and rage at the wooden board, we were provided with numerous games involving us throwing the hatchet. All of the games are fun and challenging, however my favorite game was the giant jenga. The rules were simple: who ever hits the furthest from the bullseye, has to pull the jenga peice. A little learning, A little practice, a little bit dangerous, but a whole lot of fun. When we were finished, while walking to the car I said "that was way more fun than I expected". Each group is in their own separate cage, divided by chain link fences. The first thing they go through is the safety rules. They take safety seriously which is reassuring. Then you learn how to throw a hatchet and a tomahawk. Of course for newbies there is a learning curve but they make it fun. Our "host" was such an expert and patient teacher. He could watch our throws and know exactly how to improve our technique. Then the games began! A little competition always ups the teamwork. Our reserved time flew by. Will definitely do this again. Food and drink is allowed to be brought in. I personally wouldn't want to drink while throwing and that's just me.
