Had a clog in our septic line and after snaking it out, Paul put a camera into the clean-out and it turned out we had roots in the line. Our initial bid of $1200.00 soon turned into $2300.00. We needed a pipe replaced from the house to the septic tank (it was a ten-foot stick of pipe). His helper was the one who did the work After the pipe was replaced, he sealed at the tank with Styrofoam spray. His helper buried the cover the septic tank and all was well. A couple days later the toilets began backing up again. We called Paul and he stated that there was something else wrong with our entire septic system. My wife was angry because we had paid him not only a deposit, but another cash payment to pay his helper. He became indignant that my wife was yelling in the background and he refused to come back to fix this stating " I'm a man and I can't be talked too like that". I called another company to have the tank pumped. When the lid was removed from the tank, there was a dome of Styrofoam blocking the opening to the septic tank. The gentleman who was going to pump the tank began pulling large pieces of foam from the opening. The foam had gone into (and fully blocked) the pipe that empties into the tank, which is why our toilets backed up again. I rented a snake on my own dime and got it opened up. Do yourself a favor and stay far far away from Ghost plumbing or P&R plumbing as it was previously called. OK. I see Paul has responded. I would just say that I would never ask him to use foam to seal the pipe. I am a jeweler, NOT a plumber. I texted you yesterday BEFORE I paid to rent a snake. You did not answer me. We contacted them and they were prompt to send a service tech out to look over the issue. After the assessment, replacing the shower body (valve and cartridge) was necessary. Plus having to cut into either the tile and/or the drywall to get to the pipes, would be an additional cost with their contractor between $200-400. Because we thought we could replace the shower/tub set fixtures and cartridge ourselves, we bought the entire kit at Home Depot for the fraction of the cost they wanted to charge us for the set. Picture Rocks told us they would start the repair that morning and would have to come back that following Monday to complete the repair. Their estimated price was $1650 without the contractor's price. However, they were giving us credit for the set we purchased but they couldn't warranty it only their labor which was understandable. I called a family member who is a licensed HVAC and Plumbing company owner in Phoenix. To make sure we were getting a fair cost, he told us they were charging us way too much to replace and install the entire shower body. His company charges for that type of installation up to $800 with no issues. He was taken back by the estimate and told us to find another company. Needless to say, we found a fair, licensed and knowledgeable Plumber here on Yelp. We waited on his estimate and to our surprise, his price was significantly lower and in the same range of what our family member stated. Minus the dry wall repair, which we can do ourselves due to being a small square cut out and the price was fair. Therefore, due diligence is necessary in getting a fair price, even on a holiday weekend (Easter). Don't go with the first recommendation, in a long run, this will save you money.
