Poor craftmanship on all skill levels that build these homes. They like using GE appliances the cheap ones the cook top on stove hard to keep clean and pans slid on the glass top. Electric hot water heater made in Mexico. Dish washer does not dry, and leaks door gasket came loose in less that 6 months. The 2x4 they used on the structure full of knots and cheap grade. The electrical sub panel in garage is wired in aluminum feeders. The garage floor not sealed. The fit and trim very poor. The shower and bath tube small and cheaply made. **Not Recommended - Poor Quality, Cheap Craftsmanship, Warranties, and Customer Service** We purchased a Stylecraft Builder home for nearly $400,000, and I deeply regret it. The quality and craftsmanship are well below what should be expected for this price range. They used 1/4 inch sheetrock instead of the standard 1/2 inch, and as a result, we can hear everything inside the house, as well as noise from our next-door neighbors. They also cut corners by tearing the wall insulation in half, leading to poor soundproofing and energy inefficiency. To make matters worse, they didn't even tape and float the drywall properly. The siding is already discoloring and chipping after just a year, and the brick and stone are starting to fall off because they didn't use the proper support for each piece. Additionally, they installed the hot and cold water lines backwards on the toilet--an inexcusable mistake. The garage doors are made of cheap sheet metal, and ours keeps coming off the rails. When we contacted the builder, they didn't even know who installed the garage doors in the homes on our block! Everything feels cheaply done, and it's clear they took shortcuts to save on costs. For the price we paid, we expected far better. I would not recommend Stylecraft Builder homes to anyone and wouldn't even give them one star. read more

There is no rating on this scale to address this builder. There is never ever any communication even while in the process of buying. Promises made, non kept. They do not build to CODE. Replacing the guest bath light fixture, there is no electrical box. Fixture was mounted into stud no outlet box in sight. Bringing this to their attention caused the comment, " quit replacing stuff". We wouldn't but it is hard to live with bargain basement fixtures. We were told gas was in the home. However on move in we discovered this did not include the laundry. So 700 bucks later we have a gas outlet but also huge cutouts of the drywall from floor to ceiling. There is value, there is cheap and then there is garbage. You might be able to guess which I'm implying to. This from a guy who had 30 years in the building trade. Have not met one neighbor who would recommend to friend or foe. read more

It was finally admitted that it was their fault and the 4th leak would be fixed on their dime BUT it has taken 4 months and we still aren't fixed. We aren't able to use the space we are paying for due to these issues. We now have a 5th leak and I am just immensely disappointed in the quality of what I've received. I would NEVER recommend this builder to anyone. Their work is sloppy, rushed and it's pulling teeth to get them to fix anything. Terrible with fixing repairs. Will never recommend them to anyone I know. House had so many issues after we moved in. Circuit breaker missing, the front door cracked, floors upstairs unlevel, roof not sealed, microwave not level, foundation not level, gauges missing on ac units, attic insulation, not a proper fit, garage ceiling was leaking water and bubble formation. Sent painter out who painted bathroom and garbage ceiling three shades lighter and messed up texture in the bathroom. Plus they will leave the trash behind. Do not buy a home from them. read more

We have been in our new stylecraft home since Nov 20, 22 now. So far the warranty department has taken care of the current issues. I just hope they look into and take care of the INSULATION NEW issues. This first COLD spell brought in lots of Cold exterior air into the house through floor trim, window frames, Door frames, etc. This is Not an energy Efficent House. I am retired and living with a Budget income we kept away from buying an older home to stay away from stuff like this. I am praying and hoping Stylecraft looks into these issues. First off, bought a house being told how great the build was. Of course an agent is going to say that. Toilets are KID size, not too easy for 2 adults to use this key piece of a home. Master tub is slanted oddly, and feels like at any moment, it could fall through the flooring below, or whatever is below. Shower apparatus is inexpensive and we expect it to break any second. Bathroom is cold, even with gas on. NOT sure how well insulated the home is. Most likely not well at all. (there us visible insulation in the attic area, not much. I can not see through the walls, but suspect NOTHING. .Gap in garage where cold air gets in. Kitchen sick fixtures recently replaced. And caulked, and in the master bathroom. There is only one sink in the dual type master bath. Normally a master has 2 sinks. And the only sink is kid size. Bathroom has adequate storage space. And a good size walk in closet. Carpet in all bedrooms are the same and builder grade, ( horrible color and material. ) dismal. House in the winter is COLD. have to use space heater. (not liking that , since you should not place one on carpet, can only be warm in living room, and then still not that warm. Gas heat is a problem, dries one sinuses and cause some headaches. Light switches: some work, some blow out as soon as your pop in a plug. Scary, and very cheap. Granite like counter top is faux granite, does not shine nor clean well. Windows are one pane. This also does not fare well in cold or HOT weather. Cabinets in Kitchen are peeling. The company that plans to replace these, does not test their employees for Covid. Owner said only is worker shows signs. Poor judgement. Last week saw a team of cabinet men at a house down the road. NO masks. I feel like the kitchen is in a mobile home, not enough room to prepare meals, and really only good for 1 person at a time. Cabinet space is fair. Appliances are fair. Dishwasher loud, to accompany at the washer and dryer. Light fixtures are as old as the hills. It is sad when neighbors seem to comment how fast, and how bad the homes are overall. Some of the floor time is crooked. Lady at SC said that's settling, no its poor workmanship. Also there are numerous unidentified noises off and on in the home. I have heard positive comments too on this company.Not everyone will have the same issues or situations. I hope Stylecraft can rectify some issues in this house, and make things better. I understand that a new build has a one year warranty, if true, that's really bad. Regardless that this home is 7-8 years old, it could be adjusted if Stlyecraft cares. Stylecraft has made the experience of buying my first house a nightmare. I started the process in February of 2021 and I have yet to move in my house. The communication within the company is horrendous!!! I have been lied to, and pushed aside by Stylecraft. They do not care about their customers at all. I was supposed to have a final inspection completed on our house on a particular day only to be told by the third party inspector that the house was not ready. I contacted the GC and he apologized and said that he forgot to contact me to tell me the house would not be ready. Still do not have a closing date, they won't return my call or my email to set up a walk through to get a timeline. Do not buy from Stylecraft!!!! Take your business elsewhere. read more

You can trust my review because I have been dealing with Stylecraft's sub-par business for almost 8 years now. I built my house is 2011 in Brenham. Here are the issues that happened with the FIRST YEAR: Slab was not poured correctly and I caught a construction worker beating it with a sledgehammer during construction to correct it, outlet from Dryer vent straight up to the roof was NEVER connected and years of lint has blown into our attic, the day I moved in we did our first load of laundry and had a FLOOD because nobody connected the water outlet pipe together....so they had to replace the flooring ( on day one!!), Electricity went out in front half of the house 4 times in the first 3 months of moving in, FUSE BOX PLACED OUTSIDE is not a good idea if you are not going to weatherproof it...so that was fun, Heater went out 3rd month in and we had to have it replaced..tried to use Faux Fireplace for heating during that time and it made us sick from the propane fumes, windows in spare rooms won't open all the way, water leak was found in attic and front porch from roof because someone didn't put up caulking correctly, A/C went out 3 times and I had 2 separate contractors tell me our house was zoned incorrectly as far as A/C ducting and "ton-age" of our compressor, leveling/Grading on our yard was done completely wrong and the first time it rained we had 2" of water on our patio ..so we fixed it ourselves, I paid for our oven vent to connect to outside (not just blow back into the kitchen) and they never connected it...and the list goes on. The ONLY reason I gave this company a 1 star rating is because I cant do ZERO. Piss Poor construction but excellent salesman and financing people. THIS WAS MY FIRST HOME PURCHASE AND THEY TOOK ADVANTAGE OF THAT. BUYER BEWARE. Never again Stylecraft! read more

They do not stand behind their work. They are fly by night. They have lots of people to work for them, but their policy is " not to do any repair ". Even the brand new houses you buy from them, all those " under warranty" for them does not mean anything. They sell you lemon, not a house, and they never come back to do necessary repairs. If I could I would give them a minus 1000. Stylecraft homes are the absolute worst homes on the market. They use seconds, cut corners and the finished product is horrible. There is NO quality control whatsoever, and that is a definite fact. They hire the cheapest vendors they can find who care nothing about quality or workmanship. Stylecraft is constantly lying to us. We asked them about several things wrong with our new home and they just blatantly lie about it. We have paint drips, holes and gouges all over the woodwork. The sinks and tubs are marred horribly because the installers, and the workers after the installation don't care if they scratch or trample on it. The cabinets are all scratched. They find the cheapest appliances to install that barely work. We have talked to nearly every one of our neighbors and each one of them say the same thing, complaining nonstop about their homes and the lies they keep hearing from this company. Stylecraft wants the new homeowner to find the things that are wrong and then email each one into them, but the list is endless & time consuming. If you don't find the problem yourself or find it too late your out of luck. You wonder why we bought this piece of junk I am sure. They told us they would fix everything! All we hear are excuses and lies. When they send someone out to fix their shoddy workmanship, they do a deplorable job trying to "HIDE" the problems they are supposed to FIX. It is an endless parade of returning vendors. If you have a job you can't take off every time they say they are going to come and many times don't show up. I watched them build one behind us. I can't believe it's legal to cut corners like they do. Since the finish work is so horrendously poor I can't imagine these houses are any where near safe to live in. There is nothing between the sheetrock on the inside of the house, and the outer layer of the house. Anything can crawl in. Do yourself a favor and don't buy a stylecraft home. Very poorly assembled, cheap materials, careless contractors, limited warranty. As our house was coming up, I voiced all concerns I had with the on site supervisor and sales rep. I had to really kick up a fuss to get some major things fixed before closing like broken wood on the staircase, waving of my floors, cracks in my kitchen cabinetry. Over the first year, I had re-occurring problems with the lighting. One of the light fixtures burnt up and an electrician came out to fix it but the company never offered to repaint or anything. I have dimmer switches in the bedrooms have malfunction since day one. They keep changing them out but I expressed concern of the wiring since the problem has not subsided and nothing. Also, plugging in kitchen appliances sometimes shorts the whole kitchen. The busted cabinetry was covered up with another thin sheet of the poor quality material they are made from and the molding they put on the corners come off at least once a month. I have leaking through my windows and a large area in the front of my house where we expressed concern of water and the paint has completely separated. The whole front part of my house is freezing cold in the winter. I have to purchase space heaters in a one year old home! The warranty repairs consist of short-lived cover-ups. I call them on lies and broken promises and we began to see the repair guy less and less. We still have several unaddressed repairs that were reported months ago. When they have come they blame many things on the fact that I have a large family and refuse to acknowledge the poor quality of the materials used in our build. Plus large families have nothing to do with electrical problems, leaking, flooding, and exterior structure and paint issues. We are looking into pursuing legal action. I stated concerns before our closing, in the review at our closing and even after our closing. We were promised things would be done about the concerns and nothing. This was our first home purchase and an utter nightmare for our family! I truly wish we had backed out while we had the chance! Poorly built, cheap materials, limited warranty. No help with problems after first year. Yard is flooding, was not grated right. They will not do anything. Carpet buckling after one year, no kids, just me and my husband. I bought the most expensive house in the neighborhood at the time. The future plans they told me did not happen. They throw up these houses in very little time and move to the next. They are more interested in making money than they are in their buyers. They will promise you anything for you to buy and then after that you are sol. I just hired an attorney to file against them for what they did not do and refuse to do. My home is only 4 years and 3 months old. I paid cash for over half of the house and did $30,000.00 in plantation shutters, landscaping and patio. We had plan to retire here, I am 60 years young and cannot sell the house until the yard is grated and done properly so I can have drainage. This has been a total nightmare for me. My husband and I are very happy with Stylecraft Builders and their team. Marcos and Oliver were professional and helpful with our contract, and kept us informed of the progress on the start of our home. Our move in date was delayed about 2 months but was due to very bad weather in the initial stage of construction. I lived close by, and I visited the construction site regularly. I was most impressed with the cleanliness of the work site during construction. Every evening all the debris was picked up and contained in a dump area. Jeremy and Josh were very helpful and responsive to all my questions. Kathy V. was efficient in preparing the settlement statement for our closing. We have been in the new home about 3 weeks. The house was not quite as clean as it should have been. The upper cabinet shelves had not been wiped of construction dust, and there was sawdust in some of the corners along the window tracts and inside the cabinets. There was a sheet rock repair that need attention but Josh already had it resolved. I responded to the Guild Survey. I received a call from Mandy within a couple of days thanking me for filling it out. She, too, was so pleasant and willing to help with anything that was not just right. This is the first time I have ever lived in a brand new house and couldn't be happier. Even our cat likes it! read more
