Laurie and Cindy guided us through their beach package, adding a musician at our request (they booked Marvin Tevaga), recommending the perfect beach location, arranging Amber Quale Photography, and having co-founder Reverend Al Terry officiate. The bride shared a few bouquet ideas, and the result was stunning. We planned everything over email just a month in advance, and every vendor they recommended was outstanding. As Laurie predicted, we had the beach to ourselves. Mother Nature gave us a breathtaking sunset that Amber captured beautifully, Marvin's ukulele and voice added elegance and joy, and Al not only felt like family but was genuinely engaged--helping us focus on the meaning of the moment rather than just the logistics. If you want a stress-free, classy, and unforgettable beach wedding ceremony, Makena Weddings is the way to go.

Laurie at Makena Weddings is the best! After an absolutely horrible experience with another…read moreplanning company, I scoured the internet and reviews for someone to help me plan a destination wedding. I was soon blessed with making contact with Laurie and the rest is history! The next nine months of distance planning was eerily effortless! All I needed to do was give her basic details of what I wanted and Laurie made it happen! She listened, worked within my desired budget, gave honest advice and warnings about certain things that are/are not necessary. Laurie even helped calm me by handling some last minute makeup concerns. Once on island, I met her to go over some final details and I immediately felt connected to her and so blessed to have Laurie on my team. I don't say that lightly because some people are just in it for the money. Laurie truly cares about creating a beautiful wedding event. My fiancé and I both felt her care. On the day of the wedding there was an overcast sky and light rain. I was slightly concerned, because who doesn't want a sunny bright blue sky for their wedding day? Laurie just said, "It's just good luck! No worries. Let's get you ready!" At that moment I released the sadness and radiated joy. Our wedding felt truly magical! I was able to walk on air to confidently and happily marry the love of my life. Our Officiant was Reverend Al. There are truly no words to explain how he gently and genuinely he commanded the ceremony. His soft voice yet spirited passion floated around us throughout the service. Reverend Al even sensed our nervousness and prompted kisses throughout. What a great gift to us! My aunt from Georgia later said, "Baby girl, don't know what he was saying the whole time, but I felt and understood those beautiful words in my heart!" That comment spoke volumes to me since we were not in a church but outside overlooking the ocean. Reverend Al was awesome! Our guests were amazed with the beauty of ceremony and dinner reception. The location, catering, florals, cake and staff were so wonderful. Many said it was the best wedding they'd attended. I, too, was blown away because although I had an idea of what I wanted, the reality far surpassed my imagination. Don't hesitate to choose Makena Weddings to make your dreams come true!

We decided to add a wedding to our already-planned holiday, and so only had about 2 months to plan....no problem! This is clearly what this company is built for. 1. The officiant [Joe!] they selected for our non-religious, Hawaiian, spiritual service....he was perfect and brought exactly the vibe we were looking for. 2. Karma photography was fantastic! She captured so many great shots, and was flexible when we wanted to move down the beach to change-up the background. She spent the time she needed to get the shots, and we will be forever grateful. 3. The flowers were gorgeous! We did leis for everyone, a masculine green lei for the groom and white flowers for my bouquet 4. Everyone at Simple Maui Wedding was friendly, great communicators and made you feel special and welcomed. We were a tiny little group - 6 of us total - and we felt just as taken care of as a large wedding party. Highly recommend Simple Maui Wedding if you are getting married on Maui!

We booked Simple Maui Wedding to do our beach wedding and we had the most perfect day. No amount of 5 star reviews would ever do the Simple Maui team justice. I had zero stress, zero anxiety and was able to experience my wedding day full present in its entirety. Thank you Simple Maui Wedding for the most perfect day. I want to relive it everyday! From meticulous planning to flawless execution, every detail was perfectly orchestrated. Cherise's professionalism and attention to detail ensured our vision came to life amidst the lush gardens and stunning ocean views at Olowalu Plantation House. The personalized service, valuable insights, and seamless communication made the entire process stress-free. In short, you will absolutely have the best wedding ever with Cherise as your wedding coordinator! Further details: We got married in Oct 2022, but I reached out to her about a year in advance. So we planned everything via emails and some zoom calls, and yet planning felt seamless! Throughout planning Cherise made sure to remind us when we needed to select certain aspects of the wedding by (photographer, florals, decor, catering, etc.). Always patient with our indecisiveness, but she gave us ideas and options if we asked. She also made sure everything was decided by us, no pressure by her on utilizing specific vendors. We really liked that she gave us freedom with honest opinions and facts (like if it'll be in our price range, where we can take photos, venue rules, etc.). On the wedding day, she made sure we (the bride and groom) were TOP priority. We felt like we barely saw her, but she was always around for you. Even though we had never met in person until the rehearsal day, she felt like someone we knew for a long time. Her presence and comfort is something you can't beat, especially for a destination wedding where the location is not your home. She warmly invites you to her home island and plans the most perfect wedding!

This seemed fair and normal. However, when we tried to arrange a follow-up meeting, Kara refused to meet with just my husband and me. She insisted on including her entire team in the feedback session. We felt it would be more appropriate and comfortable to provide our feedback directly to her, with the understanding that she could then relay it to her team. During numerous email discussions, Kara made excuses for every issue we raised and essentially blamed us for the shortcomings of our wedding planner. Because of that, I cannot recommend Aloha Wedding Planning Services. Although Veronica, our planner, was lovely and personable, the service we received on our wedding day did not reflect a 5-star experience. Given that we paid $4,000, I expected much higher quality. If the cost had been lower, I can confidently say I would not have been as upset by the small details that didn't go perfectly.

Both his photography and customer service were unsatisfactory. First, Mr. Tegarden's package options only included hard copies of the photos. I asked him whether he'd consider selling us the original .jpg files of the photos if we purchased enough printed copies, and if we waited, say, a year. Tegarden said that it was a very uncommon business practice, and he'd have to think about it. Uncommon business practice? All my other married friends received the electronic versions of their photos without asking. When I went back and asked again, he did not respond. Second, my husband is much, much taller than me. Both my husband and I knew about our height difference before we got married. But Mr. Tegarden decided he wanted our heights to look less disparate, so for every standing photo we took, he instructed my husband to put his feet waaay wide apart, so that the wide stance would make him appear shorter. We obeyed, with the assumption that Tegarden was planning to crop the photos, so that we'd be shown only waist-up. No!! Tegarden printed full-height photos, where my husband's pose looks beyond ridiculous. I would have gladly cropped the photos myself, but remember that Tegarden wouldn't furnish us the electronic versions. I am disgusted with my wedding photos and his idea of customer service.
