The reviews are misleading... Before my son was born, I went through and read a lot of reviews from…read moredifferent hospitals and was nervous about going to Banner Desert - where my OB delivered. I could not have had a more dramatically different experience than what I saw in the reviews - it's safe to say that the management has heard your concerns! We came in at 9:30pm to a very full labor and delivery floor - cancelled the inductions for the day & a woman had been waiting for a delivery room for 7 hours longer than me... Things were not looking too promising. The nurse in triage, Kristy (I hope I'm spelling that right) moved MOUNTAINS for us. She continuously let us know what was going on on the floor and how my labor was progressing. When there was no delivery room available and the nurses were literally spread to their max, she found a way for us to get to a room to help alleviate my pain and welcome my son into the world. I have never felt more looked after than I did with her. Following that, the postpartum ward was delightful! The team that works in there is extremely respectful and caring. Food wise, pretty good! Not the typical icky hospital food that you hear about! If you get the chocolate chip cookie, put it next to a piece of bread for a little bit and it isn't as dry & oh so much more yummy! I hope & pray that everyone gets to have my experience! Even the OB who was on call... I don't know if I would have remotely the same delivery experience if it wasn't for him & his gentle encouragement throughout - you are the best Dr. Canestraro!

Banner Desert Hospital in Mesa Arizona failed my father in every possible way during what would be…read morethe last weeks of his life. My father was admitted on April 16th 2026 with a confirmed cancer diagnosis that had already been documented in his medical records. He sat in that hospital for five days before a single oncologist walked through his door. Five days. When the oncologist finally came on April 21st it was the first time my father had ever seen an oncologist in his entire life. And it happened on the day they were trying to discharge him. The discharge paperwork they tried to send him home with was factually inaccurate. His CT scan performed right there in that building showed possible pancreatitis, bowel wall thickening, gallstones, aggressive malignant ascites, severely elevated bilirubin of 12.80, and compromised kidney function. None of it was on his discharge papers. They listed cirrhosis and noted he should get a blood test to check for liver cancer. He already had confirmed liver cancer. That is not a clerical error. That is negligence. They tried to discharge my father for three to four days before we even had a chance to arrange proper care elsewhere. When we finally had an appointment at City of Hope they discharged him to a hotel because they refused to transfer him directly to the cancer center the way it should have been done for a critically ill cancer patient. When I advocated for my father and asked questions about his care and his inaccurate discharge paperwork they called security on me. Twice. I was not threatening anyone. I was a daughter fighting for her dying father. That is what they called security for. Nurses Kelsey and Ashley were dismissive, cold, and treated my father without dignity or compassion. They did not do their jobs and their lack of care was witnessed by our entire family. The one exception was nurse Merisol who treated my father with the kindness, warmth, and professionalism that every patient deserves. She was the only bright light in an otherwise disgraceful experience. My father came home after leaving this facility and passed away shortly after. He deserved so much better. Every patient who walks through those doors deserves so much better. If the people running this hospital ever have to admit their own parents here I hope they receive the exact same level of care that my father received. Maybe then they will understand what they put our family through. Do not come here unless you have no other choice. And if you do end up here ask for Merisol and pray she is your nurse. This hospital is under investigation and I am pursuing every legal avenue available to me.

Instead of helping me as a first-time patient, she acted like I was an inconvenience and talked to me with an attitude that was completely unprofessional. I've never dealt with someone so disrespectful in a medical setting. Her behavior alone was enough to make me not want to come back. If this is the kind of customer service they think is acceptable, I seriously don't know how they keep patients. I left feeling frustrated, disrespected, and honestly shocked at how poorly I was treated.

Went in for a cough that wouldn't go away. Left feeling like sh*t when the NP told me I'm obese and…read moreneed to diet and lose weight. Let me set the stage. Quickly runs through vitals and asks questions about my cough. Then double checks my height and weight from my driver's license (from 8 years ago). I tell her the weight has changed and make a small joke about covid. She pauses and tells me I'm obese and need to start working out and dieting. I've played sports my entire life and do a HIIT workout every day. So I let it slide for the moment. Then 5 minutes later she hands me paperwork explaining my BMI and how to diet and lose weight. I explained to her how rude she is coming across and threw the papers away in the office. So if you want not only a diagnosis for your illness, but also be called obese based on an outdated membership, this is your place! But I can't image anyone would want that, so just avoid this one. Side note: I called into corporate to see if that second diagnosis is a requirement when I have a cough. I'll update when I know.

1. The first appointment I made here was put over a month away as the "soonest" available…read more 2. They force you to stand at the front while filling out paperwork/answering stuff instead of, like any other medical office of any kind, letting you sit down to do it. Even Urgent Care locations allow you to do so. 3. My initial visit that I finally got seemed positive aside wait time and the fact I was forced to do what I just said, standing around filling out paperwork and such, when my entire reason for being there was related to my ability to stand or walk. Once I actually got to see a nurse and doctor it seemed good and the doctor seemed to care. 4. This is the main actual reason for the super low rating. The medication prescribed to me was not working so I used their MyChart system to message the doctor about how I could change that for something else that may have an effect. I waited about 4 or 5 days before finally getting a response from a nurse (not the doctor, which is who I specifically mailed it to) who did not respond to what I asked at all and left me with absolutely no answer. Then I messaged them back asking the question again. No response for about 4 more days. I messaged them again asking how to change out this medication that was not working at all - this time the doctor actually responded but it took several more days for that to happen and it wasn't a kind response nor one that explained what steps to take to get a drug that may work. Instead it was incredibly condescending and passive-aggressive along with a fucking essay about all her credentials and how proud of herself she is like I give a shit and there's no excuse for that from a professional of any kind but ESPECIALLY not a physician - someone you trust to help you and care for you. She even implied that by asking for a new medication I might be trying to abuse drugs or something even when I had 25 of the 30 pills prescribed to me still with me and told her this and that I could bring them in as proof and so they could dispose of them. Anyway, she was incredibly rude and condescending and that - after waiting about two weeks to find out how to get another medication to try - was just not okay at all. To make it worse the actual answer was simply "make another appointment and come in" to get the prescription changed...but it took them multiple messages and basically telling me to screw myself to FINALLY tell me that answer. Plus her explanation for the nurse not answering me was that it's a controlled substance (a strong painkiller) and so nurses can't do anything about it...but last I checked a nurse doesn't need a special license to say "oh, to change medication you'll need to make an appointment and talk to the doctor" which is all I was asking for them to do (tell me HOW to change the medication not change it) I won't be coming back here, I'd rather push through this pain while looking for another doctor than have to interact with anyone employed here again. Everyone is either completely incompetent or incredibly unprofessional and rude. If you want a doctor that will get to you in a timely fashion, that will make you feel comfortable and like you're being attended to by someone who cares about your well being, or even just a simple professional working on your health - look somewhere else before you have to go through a childish e-mail argument entirely fueled by the "doctor".

This place was a saving grace when I got diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes. I did not have insurance,…read moreand this place offers medical services (including dental, and OB-GYN) for people who are denied AHCCCS and can't or get medical coverage on their own. I was told about this place while getting treated at Planned Parenthood. I called and got an appointment for an interview, was about a three week wait. I went and had to show how much money I had made in the last 60 days and proof of where I lived. They asked about how much a spend a month on bills. After that they put you on a tier, that tells how much of a discount you get. I ended on tier two, which was a $20 copay to visit my PCP, and anything she ordered (blood work or x-rays) was 30% of what AHCCCS would pay. I will admit the wait times where long, once I waited over an hour. The staff was very nice and professional. I felt all my needs where addressed and treated as they should of been. I ended up getting free family planning services. I also ended up getting a Mirena IUD for $20 (that was just the copay). That type of IUD costs over $800. My biggest complaint was that this center was not latex free. I work in the medical field, and I know how important it is to have non latex supplies ready for patients like me, who are sensitive to latex and even some types of tape.
