    21. French Dip Sub and 24. Turkey, Bacon and Avocado Sub
    Ellen P.

The #21 french dip (12 inch, $14) was pretty classic and tasty, except that we added horseradish and boy was it a lot of horseradish lol we were tearing up after a few bites! The #24 turkey bacon avocado (12 inch, $14) was also good, but it seemed to be doused in too much oil so everything kept sliding out of the bread making it a bit sloppy to eat. The bread is glossy and firmer on the outside and pillowy on the inside and tastes like your typical sub bread--kind of like the ones you get from the breakfast carts in nyc. It's a casual, no frills spot with about seven tables for dining in.

    15. Division St. Special Sub it has ALL the meats!!

Been a fan of this place for a long, long time. I keep saying I'm gonna get something different but I always wind up with the #15 Division St Special. Why? It has all the meats! The shop is not fancy or pretentious, a little plain actually but try crank out one gf k of a sandwich!! Great value, good people, five stars all the way!

Knew immediately after buying 3,000,000 rounds of 9mm at White Elephant (jus' kiddin', it was 50 rounds of 45 ACP) that I would definitely support local business if the open sign was on at S-D1. Massive purchase, kinda. Lately, everyone in the house is laughing at me for wanting to, 'eat junk food,' but I honestly think patronizing places that are trying to hang in there should be frequented. I can cook, and I have the provisions. But buying food from professionals during 'this' time is just as cool as it was 87 months ago... ;) Review note: They are delicious, by the way, and no other sandwich place can touch their bread. Nice & chewy on the outside, and pillow soft on the inside. Meats and fixin's all fresh. Hours are wrong, too, in Yelp. They are open till 7PM. C'mon, people. Go out and eat, fergoodnessakes...

This is hands down my favorite place to go for sandwiches. Best little mom and pop shop in town. The food is always consistent, the bread has the most amazing chew to it and it always hits the spot! My partner enjoys how thinly sliced the onions are, and if you use oil on the sandwich.. it turns into heaven on bread. They have online order to pick up which is extremely convenient also. Highly recommend if you want to try a good sandwich made with love!

Pepperoni looks like store bought pizza pepperoni
    Kaitlin D.

Sandwich was okay, i got salami and pepperoni and the salami was equivalent to the walmart deli counter meat, which is good meat but I guess I expected a little more out of this place considering the reviews. The pepperoni also looked and tasted like store bought bagged pepperoni that you would use on pizza. The bread looks crispy on the outside but was actually soft as if it was kept in a refrigerator so that was disappointing and is the main reason for 3 stars instead of 4, the bread on a sandwich is what really makes or breaks it! I would say Jimmy johns has a better sandwich, unfortunately. My total came to $10 for a 6" and a medium soda.

    24. Turkey, Bacon and Avocado Sub

Gave it another try but this time in person. Sandwich had a pretty loose paper which wasn't wrapped closed and was cut through so it was touching the counter and I couldn't pick it up without it trying to spill everywhere. When I asked for another paper to wrap it myself I was glared at by the unfriendly guy who made the sandwich. Needless to say I won't be back.

Authentic bread. #4. Ham and Turkey Sub

I don't know why more people haven't recommended this place to me. These are the closest to an authentic East Coast sub that you would love. Sub-Division greater than jimmy j, subway, firehouse, Blimpies

Really big sandwiches! Half is probably good enough for most appetites.

The decor is very low maintenance here, as evinced by buckets catching stuff leaking from the roof and areas of open ceiling where tiles should be. I get that things happen and roofs can leak, but this looks like it has been an ongoing issue for awhile now. Person taking my order was very friendly, and also got my order ready super fast. Place was somewhat busy but it looked like only her and she did a good job of keeping it all moving. They claim to make subs "just like back east.", and I will say they got it half right. I used to live in Philadelphia for a few years so know what "back east" is all about. The part they did well on was the bread. Soft but firm on the outside with great flavor. Inside was another story. Salami and pepperoni kind of bland. Good ham though. Veggies kinda sparse. Flavor of stuff inside the sandwich just not setting off any bells. Overall, I am kinda underwhelmed. This place has been here a long time so I figured they must have something special going on, but $10 later for a sandwich and soda and I feel somewhat disenchanted. May try other sandwiches and give them another chance, just not right away. Frankly, I will probably just hit Jimmy John's around the corner.

The bill was super high for 2 items, about $52. The pizza didn't seem XL, cost 4 times the amount of Dominoes or Pizza hut. The pizza and the sandwich were fair. The service was okay, we ordered and someone brought it to our table. When we entered the bar, there was a lady on her phone. I didn't know if that was the bartender or a customer. I found out that was the bartender, who told a coworker "I'm getting paid to sit." She was laughing and talking about her vacation. I get that restaurants aren't always busy, but c'mon. She was still sitting at the bar after we sat down. I used to work in a restaurant/bar. My manager never let us sit, she made us clean the walls, sweep, food prep, bathroom checks, etc if the place was empty. It was a bad look for her, especially since we were within earshot.

The menu was pretty straightforward with various pizza and sandwich options. I am a big fan of French Dip and have not had a French Dip as good as Adamson's French Dip in Sunnyvale, CA (although their service and owner both suck!) so I decided to get a "pardon my french Dip." Decided to order the "whole" sandwich which as a pretty big serving. It felt like I had ordered two sandwiches, and was able to eat one half for lunch and one half for an early dinner. The sandwich itself was well made and the meat was not too dry, which was great. The au jus was nicely flavoured and not too salty, which I enjoyed. They used a liberal amount of onions (although, I could have gone for more!) and otherwise had the sandwich assembled very nicely. Along with the au jus, the sandwich had a very good complement. Definitely a French Dip I approve of.
