I don't know what else to say about Shamus sandwiches other than they are PHENOMENAL. The bread is so fresh and they sure like those suckers HIGH. The chips are delicious and plenty. I've about tried all of their sandwiches and have never been disappointed. The staff is friendly and quick to make your order. Each shop has places to sit and sports memorabilia that is fun to look at. (GO EAGS). Shamus is always my go to place to get a sandwich when I'm close to one.. Only thing I wish for is if they were open for dinner. Sometimes I get a craving in the evening for one of their delicious sandwiches but have to wait til lunch the next day. One of my favorite local sandwich shops. We go to the one on sprague. The place is fantastic. My team eats lunch here at least once a week.

This is a no-frills spot with a few beers on tap, Ivar's clam chowder, and big, tasty sandwiches. They serve Tim's chips and a pickle with every order. The Rancher is my personal go-to, but I've had most the sandwiches on the menu (even the tuna, which I don't order at most places) and I've never been disappointed. My pictures are of the large size, which I can only finish half of, so if you're a light eater the small will suite you fine. I like having more for later though! Service is never bad but can be pretty curt during lunch rush and seating is very limited so plan on getting your food to-go. It travels well and service is as fast and efficient as they come, so no worries. If you work in the area, this is a dependable, tried-and-true lunch spot that will have you coming back even when you change jobs and it's no longer convenient. read more

I think my review wouldn't be different from any other here .. great assembly of sandwiches .. breads are freshly baked everyday, sourced from a local bakery .. and they are absolutely super. The amount and quality of meat, the cheese and the combination of sauces are great. And the way they make your order in a flash is really really amazing .. I was astonished on my very first visit for a to go order .. I mean during the time the payment from your card is getting approved or they are giving you the change back .. the sandwich is just ready .. You are like "is it mine?" .. "are you sure?" .. "no it is not mine" Still having some doubt you want to peep in to it .. :D .. But then they are more of a "sandwich assembly shop" .. not taking anything away saying them the sandwiches are great .. hundred percent. Portion size is great and prices are really fair. Had the Shamu's famous last time .. it is more like a reuben .. thought that the corned beef could have been a bit more tastier .. but I am not very fond of bland meat so it could just be me. Shamus's is small but mighty! Right off of sprague, with plenty of parking. If you stop in for lunch on the weekday just know it'll be busy with local workers. My husband and I split the Hawaiian on French bread, it was delicious! There are usually only two people working in front but they are fast! They even separated our sandwiches in two baskets with pickles and chips. Honestly the large was perfect to split, and the small will probably be plenty for you. It is inexpensive and you get a great product. Anytime I'm in town this is a must stop. I paired my sandwich with a Mac and Jacks African Amber, and they usually have 3-4 beers on tap. Limited seating, some outdoors when it's nice. The decor is all local sports related, a lot of Eastern Eagles jerseys and pics, love it! This place was hopping! There were a lot of people coming in ordering sandwiches and taking them to go. They have a limited amount of tables, but even those were pretty full. We ordered our sandwiches and found an empty table that had just been vacated. The food was average We accidentally were double charged by the sandwich shop. It was very hard to get a hold of anyone to straighten things out so that the second charge was taken off of our account but, we never did get a hold of anyone and no one ever contacted us to straighten things out. It's soured what could've been a fairly good experience! The place is decorated very cute with a leprechaun and green and white paint. They did a good job decorating the small little sandwich place. The food? So so... The decor? Very cute. The business practice? I'm afraid they get a big thumbs down. read more

This is my second sampling of Shamus's offerings. Both places were great but the Sprauge location is a well oiled machine that is down to earth with a very local feel. The sandwich I got was the Shamus's Famous. This is a seriouse sandwhich! The corned beef almost melts in your mouth and the meat to kraut ratio is Jedi level good. The bread is soft and pillowy but holds everything in place without getting soggy. The spread they put on is just enough and compliments the meat and kraut well enough without being intrusive. What I enjoyed most about this place is the customer service, I mean my sandwhich and pint of Mac n' Jacks was ready before I was. There is a nice level of conversation among the customers alone and some of the locals and the workers here. The music here is a very good mix of mostly 80s pop and rock which I am a bit biased to tbh. Stop in, grab a sandwich and a pint! You won't be disappointed. read more

Definitely a Spokane gem. There is a sandwich here for just about any palette but my favorite is Rocky's Italian Stallion. Service here is super friendly and super fast. Even if they are really busy, which they often are cuz lotsa folks love this place, you get your order quick. Prices here are better than Subway, and Subway doesn't give you free chips and a pickle spear. If you are in the mood they also have a decent selection of beers to enjoy with your sandwich. One other cool thing is this place is Spokane proud. Sean, the owner, was raised up in Spokane. He went to Eastern, and there are a few pictures from his football days. Lots of other cool sports memorabilia as well. Basically, buying a sandwich here supports Spokane cuz the money stays in Spokane. We pulled in to the parking lot, intending for our family of four to lunch there, but right outside the back of the restaurant there were four or five very sketchy men; likely using drugs; loitering. I had lunch here today for the first time. I had the Shamus's Famous, corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and Shamus's Irish mayo/mustard sauce on thick cut marble rye. The bread was incredibly fresh, soft and tasty, the sauerkraut was mild so the tang did not overpower the taste of the Swiss cheese and corned beef. The corned beef was only average in taste, it needs to be a little spicier for me. Overall this was an excellent sandwich. The folks were very friendly and fast; after I placed my order the sandwich was being delivered to my table while I was still getting seated. I want to come back and try the BLT. read more

Great locally owned sandwich shop! Easily the best in greater Spokane in my opinion. And they even get their breath from a locally owned bakery where it's made fresh daily. I eat here at least once a week, and it's delicious every time. Their sandwiches are between $6-$8 each, and will definitely fill you up. Their staff are super friendly, and they just opened their 3rd location in airway heights! Chances are your lunch will be ready before you can sit down! To go orders? Usually under a minute! So eating on the run is a sinch. My favorite is the stallion on sourdough bread, the pile river is also really good. Blt, tuna, I've had most of their menu come to think of it... This place isn't the kind of place to go if you are at all concerned with your health. It's a place for gluttony and heart disease. Large amounts of cheese and processed meats and basically no vegetables. It says vegetarian options but that's basics a lie because lettuce is the only thing that doesn't come from a can or jar.
