I ordered that and my roommate decided to try The Rancher, sub ranch, lol ikik, for the Beaver sweet and spicy mustard and Italian dressing. I couldn't get enough of my tuna sandwich, it was so delicious! The sourdough bread is just so fresh and soft, yet not soft enough to sog up my sandwich. My roommate kept saying how much meat there was and couldn't imagine being hungry enough for a full sandwich He really enjoyed his crazy combo of Beaver mustard and Italian dressing too. After a Doctor Appointment I was starving as I hadn't eaten since the day before. I was craving a good deli sandwich and I got a Great Sandwich. They were getting ready to close, but treated me with plenty of courtesy and didn't rush me. The owner explained they only had sourdough or french bread left, which I totally understood. I'm glad I had the French bread. The sandwich was handed to me before I could even put my change away. I ordered the Rocky's Italian Stallion. It came with a crunchy dill pickle spear and some kettle style potato chips. The bread was soft &!fluffy with a slight chew on the crust. There was plenty of meat, pepper jack cheese, veggies, & a slightly chunky sweet spread that compliments the meats and cheese. If I could I would do a 3.5 star rating. I did not find my sandwich to be anything spectacular. I do appreciate the location and how fast the food comes out. The folks there are nice. I guess for me when I pay for a sandwich I like my Italian style subs to have more sauce and flavor. I know many who like this place but unfortunately for me I'd rather go to a chain. I highly recommend checking it out and see if you enjoy it as much as most people because if you're there around the lunch hour it's booming. read more

Great sandwich for the price, I wish the bread didn't get soggy so quickly though. I ordered the Italian sandwich and it was delicious, the ham was a little weird and I don't know if that's from the Italian dressing they put on it or what because it was wet. I wish the ham to pepperoni and salami ratio was more even, i had 1 slice of salami and 1 slice of pepperoni so i wish they used more of those and less ham but either way it was still a tasty sandwich for the price! The owner was working the counter when I ordered and was super friendly, I was out in 5 minutes which was also nice. The inside is small but not a bad spot to sit inside and drink a beer with your meal. I will definitely be back as long as the price stays reasonable because it wasn't the best sandwich I've had in town but it was good quality! Found this place while driving back to Coeur d'alene and we were on the hangry side. Great little sandwich shop, friendly staff at the counter and fast service. We both ordered sandwiches, mine was a small and it was huge, mounds of turkey. We could only eat half of them, took the rest home for later. There was a pleasant little courtyard in the back that had sunshades, even with warm temperatures it was comfortable. The price was right as well. read more

My wife and I have been at the MultiCare Hospital all day every day for a week. It is only a few blocks from Shamus. As a result, I have eaten the Herbivore everyday for lunch. Not only is the sandwich super delicious but the staff is super friendly, and super fast. They always have my order complete before I can get the fountain drinks--It's pretty amazing. I had the King of clubs, and my wife and the Rocky's italian stallion, both on sourdough, as recommended by the girl working the counter. They were far cheaper than subway, jersey mike's, Quiznos, and all your regular sandwich places, and the amount of meat on these sandwiches was crazy. This was such a great experience! We were staying in a nearby hotel and wanted to try something local for lunch. The food was amazing. We've had a fish sandwich and a roast beef sandwich. The bread could not be fresher, the toppings were just like they should be, the chips were just fresh and we would be regulars if we lived closer. I don't work out in the Valley very often, but today I was moved over to my works valley location, which is a short 2 minutes away from Shamus's. Shamus's has been my favorite sandwich shop in town. Great prices, great food, great people, and extremely fast service. Today, I received some not very great news and have not been having a good morning. Obviously I'm gonna cheer myself up with a good sandwich. They are training a new person, who made my sandwich. When I got back to work with my food, I realized this sandwich was not the same quality as I had previously received. I called and explained what happened with my food (apologized a lot because I felt bad for calling.) I explained that it wasn't a big deal, but I was not having a good day at all and was just very excited. They were all very quick, and offered to remake the sandwich (I told the wonderful woman who answered that I would be fine if they just gave me more meat lol.) When I got back to the shop, they finished remaking my sandwich in like 2 minutes. It was only a hiccup, not one persons fault, and they were very quick to helping me. Thank you so so so much for your continued service- my bad day is not your fault, but you all made the effort to make sure that THIS part of my day was great. I can't believe the amount of food you get here for such a small price! WARNING: the "small" sandwich is still big! Smaller appetites are recommended to bring a friend and split one of these. I had the Pile Driver, a big roast beef, cheddar and pepper jack sandwich. It has mayo and horseradish, and I had mine on sourdough. And it was simply great. All sandwiches come with Tim's Cascade chips and a pickle spear. Clam chowder is apparently Ivar's, which is fairly good. Place is super clean, and seating is nice and open. The owner, a big friendly guy who likes to greet people and learn their names. He runs a tight ship but still has time to chat with the regulars. He also used to play football at Eastern so is invested in Spokane with deep roots. In addition to prearranged selections, you can build your own sandwich if you prefer. They have a small beer selection as well. You won't find THAT at Subway. So glad that this location opened up close to my house. read more

Big sandwiches seem to be a thing around Spokane and this place does Big sandwiches extremely well. The gals that helped us were very knowledgeable and our food was made quickly. The Parking isn't for large trucks but then again no place has good parking in that town. I wont let anything stop me from hitting this place up when I get back out that way. read more

This place is a staple in the community. They've been around forever and they are small business. They use quality ingredients and they don't skimp on the size of the sandwich. The chips are fresh made from scratch in their kitchen and they are great. You always get a pickle with your sandwich and the pickle is always fresh. The service is friendly and fast and they have good menu options. I gave it four stars because the location is a bit of a hole in the wall. I decided after dining in once that I would take my sandwich to go in the future. Nothing against the staff or the food. If you want dine in I suggest the patio in the back. read more

We stopped by here on recommendation of fellow Yelpers. The thing that threw us off was that it is listed as sandwiches, Hawaiian. I thought that they might have Hawaiian food but when we drove up there were flags of Ireland hanging? I ordered the small BLT which was not small. I asked them what a large would be. Basically, the small has 8 pieces of bacon and the large has 16 but he bread is the same. It comes with chips as well. So the reason for the Hawaiian is that they have a sandwich that is called Hawaiian. So those of you looking for Loco Moco, this place doesn't have it.
