No joke. Monster amount of meat! Unless you are a big eater, I would recommend the small size sandwich which seemed to have almost as much meat as the large size sandwich. I had the Shamus Famous - Fresh soft bread with delicious corned beef. There were a steady stream of regulars, which is always a good sign. Friendly service with down to earth ambiance. After a Doctor Appointment I was starving as I hadn't eaten since the day before. I was craving a good deli sandwich and I got a Great Sandwich. They were getting ready to close, but treated me with plenty of courtesy and didn't rush me. The owner explained they only had sourdough or french bread left, which I totally understood. I'm glad I had the French bread. The sandwich was handed to me before I could even put my change away. I ordered the Rocky's Italian Stallion. It came with a crunchy dill pickle spear and some kettle style potato chips. The bread was soft &!fluffy with a slight chew on the crust. There was plenty of meat, pepper jack cheese, veggies, & a slightly chunky sweet spread that compliments the meats and cheese. Now I want to go back for another sandwich even though I live over an hour away. It would be worth the drive. read more

This place is a hidden gem! I ordered the Rancher and it was a massive turkey sandwich on delicious sourdough bread. It also came with chips which was a great surprise. And they make your order fast! Shamus's is definitely my new favorite sandwich shop in Spokane. read more

If I could I would do a 3.5 star rating. I did not find my sandwich to be anything spectacular. I do appreciate the location and how fast the food comes out. The folks there are nice. I guess for me when I pay for a sandwich I like my Italian style subs to have more sauce and flavor. I know many who like this place but unfortunately for me I'd rather go to a chain. I highly recommend checking it out and see if you enjoy it as much as most people because if you're there around the lunch hour it's booming. read more

Found this place while driving back to Coeur d'alene and we were on the hangry side. Great little sandwich shop, friendly staff at the counter and fast service. We both ordered sandwiches, mine was a small and it was huge, mounds of turkey. We could only eat half of them, took the rest home for later. There was a pleasant little courtyard in the back that had sunshades, even with warm temperatures it was comfortable. The price was right as well. read more

Great sandwich for the price, I wish the bread didn't get soggy so quickly though. I ordered the Italian sandwich and it was delicious, the ham was a little weird and I don't know if that's from the Italian dressing they put on it or what because it was wet. I wish the ham to pepperoni and salami ratio was more even, i had 1 slice of salami and 1 slice of pepperoni so i wish they used more of those and less ham but either way it was still a tasty sandwich for the price! The owner was working the counter when I ordered and was super friendly, I was out in 5 minutes which was also nice. The inside is small but not a bad spot to sit inside and drink a beer with your meal. One of the best sandwiches in Spokane. Fresh bread, lots of meat, special sauces for each sandwich and huge. A small sandwich isn't small! I had the Reuben on swirled rye bread. It was outstanding! Still the best and will continue to be the best. They have a small menu with daily soup selections. The meat is sliced so thin and they pack it in! They're following the Covid standards so you can rest assured you're safe. I live in Vegas now but eve time I visit home I have to come to Shamus's. They have nothing in Vegas that comes close to the freshness and taste for these sandwiches offer. Every sandwich comes with baked chips that are pretty dang delicious. The difference between the small and the large sandwich is how much meat they pack in. I always get full with the small San who he's and so does my boyfriend. My wife and I have been at the MultiCare Hospital all day every day for a week. It is only a few blocks from Shamus. As a result, I have eaten the Herbivore everyday for lunch. Not only is the sandwich super delicious but the staff is super friendly, and super fast. They always have my order complete before I can get the fountain drinks--It's pretty amazing. Needless to say, Im a huge fan that will likely go through withdrawals after I return home to Chicago. read more

My wife and I were looking for a sandwich shop off the beaten path, something that wasn't a chain place. If you are in Spokane Valley, this is your place!!! I had the King of clubs, and my wife and the Rocky's italian stallion, both on sourdough, as recommended by the girl working the counter. I have had a lot of sandwiches in my lifetime, but these 2 rank way up in my book, easily top 5. They were far cheaper than subway, jersey mike's, Quiznos, and all your regular sandwich places, and the amount of meat on these sandwiches was crazy. This was such a great experience! We were staying in a nearby hotel and wanted to try something local for lunch. The food was amazing. We've had a fish sandwich and a roast beef sandwich. The bread could not be fresher, the toppings were just like they should be, the chips were just fresh and we would be regulars if we lived closer. Also the outdoor seating in the courtyard is just super cute. Oh, and the food came out SO fast. read more

I don't work out in the Valley very often, but today I was moved over to my works valley location, which is a short 2 minutes away from Shamus's. Shamus's has been my favorite sandwich shop in town. Great prices, great food, great people, and extremely fast service. Today, I received some not very great news and have not been having a good morning. Obviously I'm gonna cheer myself up with a good sandwich. They are training a new person, who made my sandwich. When I got back to work with my food, I realized this sandwich was not the same quality as I had previously received. I called and explained what happened with my food (apologized a lot because I felt bad for calling.) I explained that it wasn't a big deal, but I was not having a good day at all and was just very excited. They were all very quick, and offered to remake the sandwich (I told the wonderful woman who answered that I would be fine if they just gave me more meat lol.) When I got back to the shop, they finished remaking my sandwich in like 2 minutes. It was only a hiccup, not one persons fault, and they were very quick to helping me. Thank you so so so much for your continued service- my bad day is not your fault, but you all made the effort to make sure that THIS part of my day was great. Update: I just realized that they gave me an extra pickle and I almost cried because it made me so happy read more

Fantasy and quick service! Lots of beverage options. Delicious sandwiches piled high with meat! We had the roast beef sandwich which they put just the right mix of horseradish on. Super tasty bread. Super fresh chips and delicious pickle!! Was grabbing lunch while doing a job in the area and it was unbelievably fast. Would definitely stop in again! I want to try the famous shamus!! Big sandwiches seem to be a thing around Spokane and this place does Big sandwiches extremely well. The gals that helped us were very knowledgeable and our food was made quickly. The Parking isn't for large trucks but then again no place has good parking in that town. I wont let anything stop me from hitting this place up when I get back out that way. read more

I went back in today to order some lunch to go, and the main owner, the gentleman who was not wearing a mask last time, was again not wearing a mask of this time. Even after I visibly stayed away from him, he still did not put on a mask. I don't think I'll be coming back until the pandemic is over. read more

This place is a staple in the community. They've been around forever and they are small business. They use quality ingredients and they don't skimp on the size of the sandwich. The chips are fresh made from scratch in their kitchen and they are great. You always get a pickle with your sandwich and the pickle is always fresh. The service is friendly and fast and they have good menu options. I gave it four stars because the location is a bit of a hole in the wall. I decided after dining in once that I would take my sandwich to go in the future. Nothing against the staff or the food. If you want dine in I suggest the patio in the back. read more

But the first time we came in, I saw things like Caprese Salad, Italian Salad, Smoked Salmon, and other options that actually work for me. And then I discovered they make their own hard seltzers. Game changer! They always have several fun flavors, and they're unsweetened, which is exactly what I'm looking for. You can also get cans to go if you want to bring some home. You can tell the husband and wife owners have put a lot of love into this place. It's comfortable, welcoming, a little quirky, and they've always been incredibly kind. I don't think it was a perfect balance between the two, and I got a tad much of the overwhelming sweetness of the figs in this sandwich. Again, others might enjoy it, but I didn't care for it. I really wanted to give this place a great review, but unfortunately it did not meet my expectations. The beer looks fun though and might be a good reason to give this place a try, and you may enjoy their sandwiches and many people have. For me, that's a no-go.

Pile driver all day! I come here every day after work and eat at this place. The smoke house is freakin awesome as well. Every sandwich you get is loaded with ingredients and so damn flavorful. Plus they have great homemade potato chips and give you an awesome fresh pickle every time you come in. The owner is there quite frequently and he is very nice. And a couple of the women that work there certainly aren't bad to look at. Always lots of sports playing on the TVs too which are quite large. read more

Clean, Fast, and Good Service! I come in for lunch at least once a week. Their bread comes in fresh daily and they never short you on the good stuff (meat and cheese). During the summers and warm days, I always sit on the patio. The fact that they have beer and wine only makes it that much more of a definite go to. read more
