It's been a little while since my last review here and wanted to give a refresh. Not much has changed. The seating area is still pretty small with 5 two seat tables. It was also kept very clean. Water is provided in a help yourself container along with styrofoam cups. The employee working the counter was friendly and efficient and my eat-in order was ready within a few minutes. I had the southwestern turkey and it was excellent. Nothing fancy, just a very good and well stacked panini. For those of you who might not like super hot stuff, this one isn't. It's got a little kick, but nothing that ruins the rest of the day. A very good experience and reasonably priced in today's food market. Definitely worth a try if you haven't been here before.

Great little mom and pop sandwich shop! The food tastes homemade and authentic, made fresh for you. Dad had the deli club and I had the chicken pesto panini style. So glad we found this gem!

Not bad for the price. Shredded lettuce is always disappointing and the Bacon reminded me of the stuff you microwave.

The food here is really fresh! So delicious! I always order the Deli Club Sandwich and the Loaded Potatoe Salad. The only thing that sucks is that they are closed on the weekends.

My last review of this place was a couple years ago and I had to give an update. First, the owner Kristen is a gem. She loves her business and our community and takes amazing care of those who love her food. The little shop in garland district is a favorite. We have eaten in, done take out, ordered on UberEats, and with the issue of the COVID - 19 we have recently ordered her sandwich packs. Now since this all happened I have watched business owners put themselves forward and try innovative new ways to care for their customers. The sandwich packs included a loaf of bread, cheese, meat, tomato, lettuce, and love. This lasted us 6 sandwiches and we ordered three of them in two weeks. Since the kids are out of school, and my son's favorite food it sandwiches, this was an amazing idea. The pastrami and the turkey, ham and swiss are favorites of mine. When life is regular and normal their paninis are off the chains. I mean I crave the turkey bacon and a warm sandwich during lunch is such a treat. Also, the orzo salad is an absolute fave an you should definitely try it.

Southwestern turkey panini with bacon added. The bacon is equivalent to subway bacon so I was disappointed with the $2 upcharge for that.

Second time trying a sandwich from here.i have gotten the southwestern turkey panini both times now, delivered to work and by the time it gets here the sandwiches are kind of soft but that's expected with delivery. I bet these sandwiches are amazing fresh! My coworkers all ordered a sandwich from here as well and also enjoyed their sandwiches. The price point is fair for the amount of meat in each sandwich.

Roast beef BYO, with horseradish mayo, cheddar, onion, tomato, and avocado

First time here on a quiet Tuesday morning. I got a big build-your-own roast beef sandwich that had fresh crisp veggies, cheese and horseradish mayo that would have cost me several dollars more at other places. They didn't skimp on the fresh cut avocado, cut the cheese to best fit the bread, and didn't squish the bread when they cut it. The basics matter and these gals have them down. The sandwich tasted great and certainly filled me up. Didn't get a picture of The Big Dill my partner ordered but he enjoyed that as well. He said he could've eaten a second, so keep that in mind if you want to try one and have a big appetite(one would be plenty for me though). Service was friendly and funny and I'd eat in next time because of that. Carrying Boar's Head is a huge plus for me, makes me confident that all the meat will taste good. I've seen some gnarly turkey and roast beef from FSA and Sysco, glad I won't run into that here. Be back soon to try a panini and side salads!

    Dubliner-yummy!
    Jessy I.

First time at Garland Samdwich today and it's been on our list for a while. We got the Southwest Turkey and Dubliner which was a pastrami. We enjoyed both sandwiches very much. They were well balanced with meat, toppings and sauce. I was super impressed that the bread held up so well. We took these home and there was no sog! Really enjoyed this lunch and will be back to try more!

Every contact I've had with Grain Shed employees has been more than pleasant; they truly seem to enjoy working there, and take good care of their customers. I need to shout out to Toby and Audrey before I go on. They each provided 110% on customer service, being personable and making sure we left happy. On 2 separate trips to Spokane, I've visited the Grain Shed 3 and 4 times over the course of 3 days (yes, if you do the math, I went twice in 1 day, and the restaurant was NOT just around the corner!) Everything I've tried is delish, but in case you have to limit yourself, I highly recommend the OG, the beets and feta toast, the bread flight with sauces and cheese, the molasses ginger cookie, and maybe a chocolate croissant. I've heard their bread pudding and pumpkin pie (holiday special) are out of this world! I tried to get over to listen to their live music before leaving town, but still need to squeeze that into my schedule. Travelers: save space in your luggage for a loaf of bread. Sadly, no shipping at this time, but I'm waiting for it! This SoCal resident is officially The Grain Shed's #1 fan. I dare any of you to try to take away my title!

The Grain Shed does a farm to table model and is a bakery and brewery. I got a snack here along with a beer and left quite satisfied. I got a Grilled Cheese Sandwich on some of their house made bread with some Cheddar, Swiss and Provolone cheese. The exact name for this sandwich is the Cheesy Toastie. And of course moving on to the beer... the primary motivator to come here. I got the Kölsch beer here called Field Trip. I do love a good Kölsch as they are nice, light bodied beers. And they are especially nice in the summertime. Flavor features in this beer is maltiness, breadiness, a bit of hoppiness and a dry finish. Another beer that Steve and I tried was the INWPA which was a Pale Ale. It was also a nice light bodied beer which again hit the spot despite it being a different drinking session. Flavor characteristics in this beer is citrus, a yeastiness, hoppiness and a biscuity trait. Good beers and sandwiches and we are aiming for a return whenever we are in Spokane again.

Tonight two people of our party had pho and one said it was the best by far, and the other felt that our usual haunt in Hawaii was more to her liking. So much so, it will be a decent snack later on tomorrow in the form of leftovers. The service is what I want to also comment on. The staff was very welcoming and the food came out fast. Please also note that their "spring roll" is what most people call a summer roll. Their deep fried spring roll is called an "egg roll" on their menu so make sure you know what you want and order accordingly. The biggest issue right away was how long the food took. It felt like we were waiting forever, and by the time it finally came out, it definitely didn't feel worth it. We started with the pretzel, which honestly was nothing like a pretzel. It tasted more like glorified fried dough and didn't have that classic pretzel texture or flavor at all. For drinks, mine was way too strong and just didn't taste good. It wasn't balanced at all and ended up being hard to even enjoy. For my main, I ordered the Cascadia burger medium, but it came out clearly well done and overcooked. On top of that, the egg on it was severely undercooked.. some of the whites were still clear and slimy, which completely ruined it for me. I had also heard good things about the mac and cheese, so I gave it a try, but that was another disappointment. It was bland and runny, and even after adding salt and pepper, it still had no real flavor. My husband ordered the chicken sandwich, which wasn't terrible, but it was definitely on the dry side. They were also out of fries, so he had to get fruit instead, which was kind of disappointing. Overall, the food took way too long, the quality didn't match the price, and the experience just didn't live up to the hype at all. Unfortunately, we won't be returning.
