Suburban Solutions made our move a breeze! The night before we added extra mattress covers and they were able to accommodate. 3 movers came 15 mins earlier than expected and they wrapped everything safely and securely from our apartment to our house. Everything was padded and wrapped with extra cushion. The brought a huge box to take all the loose items that we didn't quote, which we didn't expect but was super helpful. They also agreed to take several large heavy boxes of books that we didn't include in the quote. ALSO, I didn't do a very good job of packing the boxes of the heavy books so they repacked it in some extra boxes they had at no extra charge. When we got to the house, they were even more fast and efficient. They were happy to move items around and placed the furniture exactly where requested. They also took off all the padding and wrap. They were super prepared. They had box cutters to cut the wrap quickly and they had tools to put the beds together. The team was great! They were fun to work with, extremely hardworking. All 3 were a pleasure to work with and we just love our new home. Also, please know that the final payment was actually less than what was quoted and we had quoted 2 other moving services before deciding to go with Suburban Solutions and they were priced the best out of all 3. Now it's been a month since our move and today in the mail I received a thank you card, business card, and magnet from Suburban Solutions. THIS IS TRUE PROFESSIONALISM. I've moved 7 times in the past 7 years and have worked with a few different moving companies. Suburban did a great job with my last move and definitely ranks among the best. The move was of a 2-bedroom apartment from Rockville to Falls Church. The team showed up within 15 minutes of the scheduled time. Brad, PJ and Frank were a great team to work with: polite, professional and communicative, asking plenty of questions along the way. This is a nice change of pace from some other joints that hire people who can't speak English. The team worked efficiently to get all my stuff loaded into the truck in about 2 1/2 hours. Considering I was moving out of a 4th-floor unit with no elevator, they had a lot of stairs to contend with but moved fast and didn't complain one bit. They even helped carry down a few items that I wanted to move in my car. They arrived shortly after I did at the new apartment and had every moved into my new apartment in about an hour. This included some clever and careful maneuvering of my couch and two desks through a tight corner near the doorway. They took special care not to damage my furniture or the walls and handled it very well. Overall I am very pleased with my experience with Suburban. While they weren't cheapest quote I received I felt like I got good value for money. They were also able to move me nearly 10 days earlier than the other company that quoted me, so I didn't mind paying a little extra for that kind of flexibility. read more

I booked these guys based on their Yelp reviews. Thankfully, Yelp is pretty darn accurate. Set up was easy, no deposit necessary and the guys were good about emailing etc. I told them I had 2 LED TVs w/o the boxes and they said it wouldn't be problem, as long as I wrapped them up. I boxed all my goods and wrapped the TVs. The team (3 guys) showed up on time and checked out the situation. Once they surveyed, the said "time begins now." Over the next 5 hrs or so, these guys hustled, and were professional. I don't think they even stopped for something to drink. Had I not been so busy, I would have offered them water/gatorade. They are the only guys I would trust to move my house. They communicated thoroughly. They were on time and very professional. Actual price came in under our quote. My guys said that was due to me being organized and having things boxed up and labeled and ready to go. You have some control over your costs if you can be organized and efficient. They wrapped everything up and took great care of my stuff. Lastly I could not believe how hard the 4 guys worked. I figured since it was hourly they might take their time or take a lot of breaks. I have used this company twice. Overall pleasant experience booking for move. However, during my last move they seriously damaged two pieces of furniture. Office did re-reimburse me for damage but amount will not be enough to have one of the items fixed. My real issues with this company is that they lost one of my boxes with many clothes. Owner and me exchanged several emails and he told me "nothing was left on the truck." I had already told him that i had looked into the truck at house and it was empty, so box was either left in a hallway/loading dock in my building or "dropped off" on the way to my house. I explained the situation and owner suggested I contact the police. This to me is unacceptable. You as the moving company need to be responsible for theft/lost property. read more

I moved yesterday with Suburban Solutions and the experience was - well - perfect. I mean, perfect. I had a crew of Josh, Steve, Rey, John, and Nick - who showed up on time and got set up. We did a thorough walk-through to confirm everything and before I knew it the team was hauling, disassembling, transporting... I mean, they were ON IT. The team was professional, courteous, and friendly, careful, quick, and strong. All in uniform. Kind of like how you would picture they should be in your dream move - but better. Seriously. They got everything loaded up in no time flat and kept the property in great condition (no nicks, wall scuffs, etc.). they got right over to the new place and got right to work unloading. Here's the funny thing - they seemed to memorize exactly which lamps, books, games, desks belonged to each of my kids or which rooms (like, "Sir, you didn't mark these boxes of clothes, but I remember them being your daughters, so I'll get it over there"). and got them to the right destinations (I'm not sure I could have memorized that). So unloading was a breeze and we actually had the house livable by the end of the day. So ... you've been on a dozen review sites and read a million reviews. Just hire these guys. If I could give them six stars, I would. Just talk to Brian at the front office and get going. You'll be glad you did. read more

These guys were great for my small-scale move (1 person/1 bedroom's worth of stuff) from eastern market to columbia heights, both in DC. I found them because they're in Chris My Truck Buddy's network, and I would recommend them directly for any move. They're very flexible, reliable, and communicative - and of course hard-working. They have an hourly quote which is nice, not complicated like the sketchy moving companies you come across every two seconds on craigslist, but I did add a bed to the mix and then didn't ask for a requote, so it ended up costing a bit more than I expected. Suburban Solutions really saved the day! The Save: My fiancé had a moved scheduled with another company this past Saturday. The other company cancelled 15 minutes before they were supposed to arrive. This was more than just an inconvenience. My fiancé was in a high rise and the freight elevator is booked months in advance for the summer months...and his time slot was ticking away. I suggested he call Suburban Solutions because I scheduled them for my move next week. My fiancé called and within 15 minutes the company worked out a way to patchwork a team together for us. They were at the apartment within 90 minutes of the first call. We started with a team that was in between jobs and then had another team take over before the first team had to leave for their next job. Phew! We really appreciate the creativity they used in finding a solution to our dilemma. The Team(s): All four guys were polite, professional, and clean (seemed like college-age guys). Tim and Max (the second team who did most of the move) were amazing. They did not sit still for a moment. I guess they have some sort of incentive to come in under the estimate (what movers do that?! No milking the clock here). Tim and Max worked hard to place all of the items in the new house correctly. Straightening out rugs etc. The Costs: I originally found this company because I wanted a fair flat fee---having been burned in the past by movers charging $4-$10/roll for tape and using crazy amounts of bubble wrap. The cost was a flat fee for the truck and an hourly fee for the work. That was it. No hidden fees (even for the last minute scheduling---thanks, guys!) They came in slightly over the time estimate, but in fairness, they only had a 30 second description of the locations---they did not know about the super long hallway and the small, slow freight elevator. According to the website, the time does not start until they pick up the first box---they meant this literally. They came up to the apartment and scoped out the move, brought up equipment, THEN picked up a box and started the clock. In the interest of a fair and honest review, I had a little trouble using the estimate form online. Also, if you are looking for movers who will spend hours wrapping every single item with 6 layers of bubble wrap, these are not the movers for you. They were very careful with the items and wrapped the TVs and more fragile things with their own wraps (no extra charge). I did not see any scratches or damages from the move. Honestly, that was exactly what I was looking for. I am not at the stage in my life (or probably will ever be) when everything needs an hour of prep time before the move. Just throw my stuff on the truck because it has already been through 3 to 7 moves over the years! My move is scheduled for next Sunday. More points--they work on Sundays--I had trouble finding movers who do that. I requested Tim be scheduled for the job. Will post an update after my move! read more

On the day of my move, Eddie, Chris, and Smokey showed up and, not only were they pleasant and fun, they worked hard and moved quickly. I have had problems with movers in the past taking their time loading/unloading the truck and getting "lost" on the way to my new place....all the while, just running up the clock and costing me extra money. I've got nothing but good things to say about the Suburban crew we hired. We had a two-stop move starting in Fairfax, then to Tyson's, and ending in Herndon. The crew was very professional and FAST while still very mindful of safety and caring for the parcels. They wrap everything in blankets and/or plastic wrap, use dolleys, and make common sense good decisions regarding how much they can lift, when a piece requires two-man lift, etc. Per their own paperwork, you might watch out for your particle board items. They did their best to protect everything, but there were some small dings in those items. That said, I knew the risks going in, and didn't take any preventative measures since these items are pretty cheap to begin with. In conclusion, door-to-door-to-door in 4 hours, 5 stars, super professional. Did I mention the final stop had two flights of stairs? They got my 200 lb desk all the way up there, around the bend in staircase, and had to remove and reinstall the door hinges for it to pass. Zero damage. Thanks! read more

These guys were terrific! The crew was super professional and courteous. We moved most of our furniture and belongings out of our house into a townhouse a few miles away in advance of a renovation. They guys were very flexible and patient about taking directions in terms of what to pack/wrap and store, what to pack and move to another part of the house, and what to put on the truck to move across town. They were very efficient and even though I thought they should stop for lunch or at least a break, they kept at it, cheerfully. They then moved us into the new place just as professionally, courteously, and efficiently as they had moved us out. Steve was the crew leader, and we couldn't have asked for a more organized, professional mover. They helped us move a big house full of furniture -- nothing broken and no scratches. They even moved a piano for me. Movers were courteous and professional. I engaged their services to move a dining room set that I had bought from someone on Craig's List. It included one very large table, 14 chairs, a huge china cabinet, and a large credenza. The shelves of the china cabinet are glass, the back is lined with mirrors. There are three pedestals on the table, and two leaves. The chairs have intricate fretwork on the back. It was an expensive set with a lot of fragile pieces that I was admittedly worried about. I thought about buying extra insurance, but was reassured after talking to the dispatcher (owner?) about my concerns. He was right; the team wrapped everything very carefully, and the team leader phoned me ahead of time to tell me about the two places in the set where they had found a cracks in the chairs as they were wrapping them. I would use them again in a heartbeat, and I would specifically ask for team leader Danny and his two co-workers James and Tae. You should, too! read more

From the initial quote onwards, Suburban was incredibly easy to work with, up front about all costs and aspects of the move, and professional. The two individuals (led by Wayne) that Suburban sent were extremely friendly and kept in touch with me at each stage of the move. As a young single woman moving alone, I had absolutely no concerns about my own safety or the safety of my belongings throughout the whole move. All of my items were moved efficiently and quickly with no damage to any object. In fact, a couch I had did not fit into the new apartment. Darrel and the Maryland team were very punctual, respectful and faster. They wrap what they could and handle all of my furniture with care. I had a simple part 2 of a move to move out some extra furniture to clear apartment at Palisades Apt in Bethesda MD. The sales guy Brian was solid and prompt with a simple bid with clear numbers. At first I wanted stuff to be donated to Wider Circle. The ops person gave me an email over weekend to confirm Monday 10am-12pm slots. I think her name was Andrea. Last minute I had a change because Wider Circle was closed due to virus for donations. Brian handled it well by providing a solution and cost was actually a bit lower.
