And who doesn't love meat + cheese + bread? So when sustenance was needed on our road trip, a Yelp search for "sandwiches" led us to What A Blessing. I admit we were skeptical. The interior was small and... well... odd. It reminded me of my great-aunt Marie's farmhouse. Upon immediately walking in the door I saw that a large bakery case was empty. I almost walked out thinking the place was going out of business. However, we grabbed a table in the (small) dining room and perused the limited menu. We ordered roast beef, but they were out of it. We ordered soup, but they had none to offer. Discouragement set it, but we persevered. Finally, our subs and sandwiches arrived! They all came with a side of BBQ chips. Now... BBQ chips are my favorite, so I perked up immediately. Let me shout this: THE SUB ROLLS WERE HOMEMADE! They were delicious. Fantastic flavor. Perfect texture and crumb. The subs were piled with meat, which tasted high quality. Kid #1 swore her turkey was Boar's Head. Maybe it was or maybe it wasn't, but it was definitely quality meat. My cheesesteak was fantastic, and the Italian sub was spot-on. The burger was just average, but the delicious HOMEMADE bun made up for it. All the veggies (lettuce, tomato, etc.) on our subs seemed fresh. The owner(?) dropped some free pastries at our table, too. Sweet, tender, and tasty! I would recommend you grab a donut or two to go, too. In the area and want a sweet or a sammie? Check out What A Blessing to support a local guy and a Christian.

Extra dirty Martini. Spicy tequila fizz, and 2 Cosmopolitans, one sweet and one sour, both excellent! Can't say enough about the mixologist (Bartender). He's wonderfully talented. For appetizers we had: Nashville chicken wings in a warm homemade cream cheese with crispy thin sliced toasted French bread slices. Cremimi mushrooms, and smoked bone in chicken wings with pickled red onions and arugula. For our entree's we had: Cowboy burger with seasoned fries. Ribeye steak with crispy mac n' cheese, sauteed onions and peppers dressed with a chimichurri sauce. Grass fed beef burger on fried goat cheese patty with fig, and truffle parmasan fries. Candied smoked salmon, tossed in unagi, grilled sesame sticky rice, with wakame salad and sirracha aioli. For our dessert we had: Chocolate mole cake with a raspberry pepper coulis with vanilla ice cream and carmel drizzle. We highly recommend checking them out. Great people, great service, good times! As soon as we walked in I could smell the goodness. This cute restaurant is off the beaten path but well worth finding. We were seated right away and drink orders taken. Our waiter was a nice young whose name escapes me but he gave amazing service. I asked him recommendations then asked what he thought about the meatball sandwich. He raved about the meatballs saying they were homemade and it was one of his favorites. So of course I had to have it. An let me say it was by far the best meatball sub I have had! Just the right amount of everything! An to top it off the bun was toasted which made it even better! My aunt had the club sandwich as was equally as pleased. We took our desserts home as we were stuffed. But they were all amazing. From the cannoli to the cheesecake to the tiramisu. It was all amazing. Wish I could've tried all their desserts but these were a few like you chose. We never had to ask for refills or anything as or waiter was great. Highly recommend here in the area or even not in the area that you go and try Vito's Pizza bar and Grill. I'm telling you it is worth the drive. You won't be disappointed..
