The Cavalier Club with Vegetable Medley

This restaurant is an old school gem! It's been there since 1948 and this was my first visit! I had lunch there today! The place is clean and I mean clean to the point when you open up your napkin, the silverware had no water spots and you know they hand dried the utensils! I ended up ordering The Cavalier Club with spicy mustard in place of the mayo ... OUTSTANDING! My side was the vegetable medley which was delicious! Tea was freshly brewed and was always topped off without asking! Only downfall ... I was too late for the cheesecake ... they had sold out by 1:30pm. I will be back and probably order the cheesecake first! ;-)

Love this place. Great selection of foods and the service is friendly, fast and accurate. If we lived closer we'd be frequent customers!

What an Amazing place! We stopped in for lunch and was so glad we did. We were greeted and seated quickly. Olivia, our waitress, was exceptional. She took our drink order and gave us time to look over the menu. She gave great suggestions and placed our order. The food arrived hot and was presented beautifully. My Waist Line chicken dish was well seasoned and perfectly cooked. The broccoli was delicious as was the Caesar salad I had in place of the cottage cheese. Definitely a MUST visit!

Great atmosphere! Food was good, I had the cheese steak. It was ok, really enjoyed the spinach dip. My wife had the French onion soup and 1/2 club sandwich. She enjoyed it and would order again, We'll be back.

Cremimi mushrooms, and smoked bone in chicken wings with pickled red onions and arugula. For our entree's we had: Cowboy burger with seasoned fries. Candied smoked salmon, tossed in unagi, grilled sesame sticky rice, with wakame salad and sirracha aioli. And who doesn't love meat + cheese + bread? So when sustenance was needed on our road trip, a Yelp search for "sandwiches" led us to What A Blessing. I admit we were skeptical. The interior was small and... well... odd. It reminded me of my great-aunt Marie's farmhouse. Upon immediately walking in the door I saw that a large bakery case was empty. I almost walked out thinking the place was going out of business. However, we grabbed a table in the (small) dining room and perused the limited menu. We ordered roast beef, but they were out of it. We ordered soup, but they had none to offer. Discouragement set it, but we persevered. Finally, our subs and sandwiches arrived! They all came with a side of BBQ chips. Now... BBQ chips are my favorite, so I perked up immediately. Let me shout this: THE SUB ROLLS WERE HOMEMADE! They were delicious. Fantastic flavor. Perfect texture and crumb. The subs were piled with meat, which tasted high quality. Kid #1 swore her turkey was Boar's Head. Maybe it was or maybe it wasn't, but it was definitely quality meat. My cheesesteak was fantastic, and the Italian sub was spot-on. The burger was just average, but the delicious HOMEMADE bun made up for it. All the veggies (lettuce, tomato, etc.) on our subs seemed fresh. The owner(?) dropped some free pastries at our table, too. Sweet, tender, and tasty! I would recommend you grab a donut or two to go, too. In the area and want a sweet or a sammie? Check out What A Blessing to support a local guy and a Christian.

I also got The Yardbird sandwich after the server recommended it. It's basically just chicken salad and lettuce between a ciabatta roll, but it was simple and great. And what the heck: I can't visit a bakery that has multiple sweets without getting one. I also listened to the advice of the server when she recommended the orange scone. She was right again! It was tender and tasted like a Froot Loop. Blue Sky is located on the corner of a busy street. There are lots of tables, but if you can, sit at the bar that looks out onto the street to see the hustling and bustling college town.

Sometimes, when college students leave great reviews, that means good food that isn't too expensive. True here, especially for what you get: generous servings on amazing bakery breads. I had the "Sorry Charlie" on a slice of focaccia -- topped with tomato slices and melted cheese and a satisfyingly crunchy, warm crust, with a simple but nicely refreshing black bean and corn salad. Dessert treats are also worth a splurge. The people couldn't be friendlier with customers of all ages enjoying themselves. (And they have a coffee bar. And a "speakeasy"!)

My dining companions ordered different things off of the menu and let me take bites: spring rolls (yum, especially with the sauce), empanada (my favorite), falafel (great) and soup (I didn't taste). They also offer vegan desserts, which I was tempted to try but was stuffed from my healthy lunch. The restaurant itself is very small with not a lot of seating. I'd say maybe eight people can sit down inside, but there are some tables out on the sidewalk for outdoor seating.

He raved about the meatballs saying they were homemade and it was one of his favorites. So of course I had to have it. An let me say it was by far the best meatball sub I have had! Just the right amount of everything! An to top it off the bun was toasted which made it even better! My aunt had the club sandwich as was equally as pleased.
