I cannot believe I haven't reviewed this place yet! This place is a staple on my house. My wife, kids, friends, and enemies all go here when they are in town. This is where the locals go for great beer, service and food. Don't come during karaoke though. It is packed and standing room only. You just got to do this place. ADD ON: yelp had me believe I never reviewed this place. Obviously I did. Review stands. One of my favorite places.

Hey Stadium Inn !!who is owned by the same as this place, why the heck can't you make burgers that taste like this.. the bun hold's together, the burger does not taste like old grease like the drill does not get cleaned during the day.. the fries are yummy cause you can tell the fryer has fresh grease... the best burger around.. and the hot dogs are yummy and actually grilled not dropped in the fryer... yes the stadium says they don't do that, but we have witnessed this 3 times, so we don't get dogs there anymore .. not lie.. maybe you should let this girl running this place run it there.. just saying .. excellent. Worth the drive to Amherst for sure

I really wanted to try The Bonfire Burgers and Grill today, but unfortunately they were closed. Instead, we opted for the Filling Station, which is exactly that - a gas station/restaurant. It was very dimly lit and very small. There were about three low tables, several counter seats and a couple high tables. We tried one of the "Specials". I had the Philly Cheesesteak and my friend ordered the Chicken Philly Cheesesteak. Each came with a side and we chose the chips. There are no soda fountain drinks, only bottled beverages from a cooler. My special and bottled soda came to just under $20. The meal tasted just okay, and I would not buy again....too expensive for a sandwich, chips and soda.

Very odd place to have a little diner, inside of a gas station. I heard this was common in the south? I'm from Ca so this was interesting to me. Well, I was very happy with my food and ate it ALL! I had the Philly cheesesteak with tater tots. I wish the meat had a bit more flavor but overall I would get it again. The young lady who helped me was very sweet!

The food was so good there. And the service is too. Get the onion rings with their homemade ranch.

I was already not in the mood for anymore drinking after spending a weekend in a major tournament in Lynchburg. Anyways, for a Saturday evening, this place was pretty packed both inside and outside. We both ended up getting a flight of beers each and every one was great. The food surprised me as my fish tacos was super fresh. The chips and queso was also great. Overall, a must see - especially for the view of the mountains if you decided to eat outdoors.

Brewery # 445…read more Devil's Backbone is a very large operation it seems. They make beer, the make bourbon, and they make food. They just do them all very slowly or at least they did when I was there. We came here on a Monday evening, and it was somewhat busy but there were visible empty tables and a couple spots at the bar. We went to the bar and waited awhile before the bartender asked what we wanted. I didn't ask for a flight because he seemed too busy. Whatever I wanted they were out of, but I ended up with an Imperial 16-point IPA which was quite tasty. I also got some chicken nachos, but I had to go stand in line to order them. They were adequate but not worth the wait. The place was very disorganized. They had workers always standing by the hostess desk, but the bartender was overwhelmed. Seemed like they should have had more than one, after all it is a brewery. Would have loved to try more beer but we just left and went back into Lexington for another round at another place. I don't know maybe it was just a bad night.

Devil's Backbone, like a good story, doesn't try too hard--and that's exactly why it works…read more We wandered in for an early dinner, the kind of stop you tell yourself will be quick and sensible. But the beer had other ideas. As expected, it was excellent--cold, confident, and clearly in no mood to be rushed. Everything was clean and orderly. The burger arrived and did not disappoint. Honest, well-made, the sort of meal that reminds you why you ordered it in the first place. My wife's brisket sandwich, meanwhile, was everything brisket ought to be--tender, rich, and just indulgent enough to feel like a reward rather than a mistake. Fries came alongside, hot and crisp, doing their job without complaint or ceremony. And then, on the way out--as these things tend to happen--we stopped at the bar. That's where we met Vance. What followed was less a quick cocktail and more a conversation with drinks attached. The cocktails were excellent, but the company made them memorable. Vance makes a great adult beverage. All in all, Devil's Backbone isn't just a place to eat and drink. It's a place where a simple plan quietly turns into a better evening than you expected.

We visited around 3:00 p.m., well before the dinner rush, so we weren't expecting service delays or other issues. Unfortunately, the food was bland, overly oily, and significantly overpriced for the quality. We used to come here regularly and always enjoyed it, but it just isn't what it once was. The dining area was also uncomfortably warm, as the air conditioning didn't appear to be on. The only relief came when the kitchen door opened. Service felt rushed and impersonal as well--we were greeted with a curt "Where do you want this plate?" when our food arrived, which didn't make us feel particularly welcome. The property itself remains a lovely place to spend some time outdoors, but based on this visit, we wouldn't recommend it as a destination for dinner. We hope the restaurant can return to the level of quality and hospitality it once offered.
