After a long drive out to Mt St Helens and back we pulled in for a sandwich before getting back on the interstate and the second we walked in the door we were greeted with " I don't have much we are of almost everything. What you see is what we have". I don't know if she just had a run of 100 loggers needing lunch but all we saw was a little chicken, steak, some pepperoni and a little lettuce. That's it! Barely enough to make one sandwich. I didn't even look to see if she had bread. We turned and walked out. It was 2:30! Who is in charge of stocking this place. Was she working alone?! That would also be a problem. I have never seen this before and the hours said they are open til 9 pm. It's going to be a long day for that worker. read more

I've recently been eating at various Subway locations around the county, not by choice. I have to say, this was the worst by FAR! Which is unfortunate, because I used to think they were at least average, if not good. I used to slightly frequent the location, even, but that was probably over a decade ago in high school. Let me start with the food: it's as good as any other Subway. In terms of taste and quality. However, it was a sloppily assembled sandwich. Some vegetables were nearly running out but not being replaced, instead more concern was placed with getting customers through quickly. Some other items available for purchase were out of order, sold out, or unavailable in the first place. This location could almost be described as "like a Subway 'Express' location in an airport." (They're not called "Subway Express" when they're in an airport FYI. I was making a joke.) Then let's move onto service. They didn't get customers through very quickly. Granted, they only had two female employees that seemed high school age, and only one of them cared about doing a good job. And the other female may have been a new employee. But everyone was clearly witnessing a cluster. At least they weren't rude to anybody. I've just seen other Subway locations get people through faster with the same number of employees (two) or even less (one) at equally as busy of times. It's not got the best atmosphere. It does have slightly more seating than some of the average sized locations, but the atmosphere was very worn out. This location felt like it was on its last legs, and the people in my line were clearly tourists who missed the Kelso location or had no clue it existed. (A close location, that's also right off the freeway, that's an overall better location and also closer to more things.) I also had a brief issue where I called in advance and was told I could do something, then arrived and was told the opposite. That doesn't change my rating, but it further ruined my personal experience. There's a decent sized parking lot outside, and the location is easily accessible from the freeway as previously mentioned. I'm gonna just barely avoid a 1/5 star rating on here...I'd ultimately still go back, so to me that's not a 1/5 star establishment. That doesn't mean the 2/5 I gave it on here isn't generous, because in reality I'd give the location a 3/10, but obviously Yelp is out of five. I think that's all. I really hate writing negative reviews. However, I'm gonna write new reviews or update old ones, for all the Subway's I visited. Even this extremely disappointing one. If you look at others reviews on here or Google Maps, you'll not be surprised to hear this location is subpar. I guess my overall experience was about average for fast food, maybe a bit more below average. But I've always found Subway's to be slightly above average fast food, considering when you order inside, you get to choose what you want and watch them make it. Or mobile orders are picked up on a shelf inside, usually with ease. read more

I have only been here twice, I would not recommend this store because...the first time I went there, they were just out of pickles and straws. This last time they were out of pickles, tortillas for wraps and only had reg bread not the 6 or 7 diff kinds! The people working here were fine. Subway is generally awful these days. Their meat is pressed, high-sodium and thin, while their eggs are tasteless and the cheese is fake. But this particular subway is the worst of the worst. Today they were out of most items, including vinegar! Poor service and worse food for an outrageous price. We will never stop at another Subway again. read more

This particular subway in castle rock I do not recommend...to start they illegally work minors past there hours and alone on a closing shift..they do not properly rotate there food so that the first food in is the first food out..I saw a worker pull a bin of Spinich out of the reach in fridge and there was a bug in between the lid and the veggies.they never clean their oven or proofer..management's refuses to answer there phones on the weekend even when it's a minor working. This place is ran like a high school if ur not a part of their little click then u are a problem to them no matter how good of a worker you are. The best part is they like to fire people over text message. Not only is the food there questionable but the managers are to..very unprofessional environment I wouldn't suggest eating or working at this subway location at all. Skip this subway. Go to any other one. The staff clearly doesn't want to work. Not sure what they're there for. The place is disgusting. We asked for 2 sandwiches, and asked for the meat to be warmed up prior to being added to the sandwich and then suddenly he needs to check for chicken in the back, does so and days oh the chicken is defrosting so I can't make those anyway. We left. They are also pretty much out of everything. Had probably 4 bags of chips total on their racks. Corporate should close this location or do a serious retraining/ hire new staff. read more

DO NOT ORDER FROM THE APP! You will not get what you ordered... ever. Done it myself maybe 5 times now. Never correct. It seems they pretty much give you your choice of meat, after that, you get what's pictured on the board. You paid for avocado and bacon on the app? Well thats it. That's what happened. Cause they aren't putting it on your sandwich. Also don't go in before closing. Not like five minutes before closing cause that's a dick move. But don't even go in there a half hour before closing, they're xany bars are already kicking in and they have to find out from their managers if they serve during open hours. read more

I've purchased subs at this location about 3 times in the past 6 months or so, and had no complaints about the food. However, today was a disaster! There was a white sheet of paper taped to the front door, listing all the things they were out of, and apologizing for any convenience. They would have done better if they had listed the things they still had, as it would have been a much, much shorter list. They were out of steak, roast beef. bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, wheat bread, all cheeses except white American, and the list goes on. Your only choice was chicken, chicken, or chicken. There were 3 employees there, but nothing to make sandwiches out of (except chicken). I do not blame the employees......this was clearly a case of terrible mismanagement. I ended up with a chicken teriyaki sandwich, which I brought home and had to add my own veggies and cheese. We were told there is a truck order coming tomorrow, but if I had been managing the place, I would have made the 2 minute drive to the local grocery store and purchased a couple bags of shredded lettuce, a few tomatoes, and some cheese besides white American. At least people could have more than just chicken! A better step by management would have been a sign on the door saying they were closed today because the shipment of meats and veggies did not arrive. Just my opinion. Literally took 45 mins to get one sandwich, because they were just moseying along, joking around and having a great time, and only paying attention to online orders versus the line out the door in front of them. This Subway has a large dining area, about 3 times the size of normal. When I ate there yesterday, I found both employees to be courteous and diligently doing their job. It's a nice dining room to sit down and catch up with life for a while after a long day. I got a meatball marinara sandwich with cookies and drink. I give this Subway an A+, 5 stars I found nothing wrong. Subway is a nice go-to in unfamiliar surroundings, because of the same menu, same meats, same breads, same cheeses, same vegetables in all locations. This Subway deserves more than 2.5 stars average, hope this helps read more

I don't normally review chain restaurants but this place needs some serious help. I'm giving two stars because they recently updated the place so the lobby was clean and the one girl working there this time seemed to know what she was doing. Other than that they change out workers all the time that are very slow or appear to not know what they are doing. I don't blame them entirely based of lack of training. I got an a side order of meatballs and they charged me for a full 6 inch. They also didn't have the meatballs ready so they put them in this tray that was clearly very dirty and sitting out to be put in the oven and they still came out ice cold. There is bread "out on display" which involves 4 foot longs of each and they can't keep enough ready for actual customers. The wait time here is crazy long and I have never had a fast experience. I've been coming here years every now and then and it still is not great. I have placed online orders and they are not done by pick up time having me to wait in line with everyone else. I also am not expecting a 5 star restaurant but I'm expecting a simple sandwich to be made, workers that have good practice of hygiene, clean kitchen utensils and food in a decent time. read more

This is a very small town if you can even call it that. On the way back from a day trip to Mt, Saint Helen's we needed and quick bite to eat before heading home. Lots of employees but not of them really seemed like they wanted to wait on us. They seemed more concerned with what was going on within them than listening to us and take our order correctly. She had a Stevie Wonder head movement going on instead of making sure she was helping us. The place was not clean on the tables, flies in the eating and preparation area, no paper towels in the bathroom, I didn't bother to tell them that they were out, figured they would get to it whenever they felt like it anyway. So, yeah, I'm reviewing a chain. We were headed up to Mt. St. Helens for the day, and wanted something for lunch later in the day that wasn't the hot-dog-truck fare available at the visitor's center. We figured this was probably our last-chance stop, so we grabbed sandwiches for later. We clearly weren't the only ones with this idea. A tour van was just loading up to leave as we arrived ... and a tour bus arrived just as we were leaving. Thank goodness for our timing. They must be crazy busy at some point in the day, as they've taken the mall space next door for additional seating. (Though I do note: twice the seating but the same-length sandwich-making bar probably means very long lines.) If you didn't plan ahead ... this will do (and probably travel better than the pizza or burger joints nearby). Better yet: plan ahead and bring something better. read more

Ordered ahead on the internet. When I arrived artist were frantically making sandwiches. One gentleman in front of me. I did get welcomed. However there was no more dialogue as the artists continued making sandwiches. When they finally spoke up. I mentioned I had an online order but the other gentleman was before me. They promptly looked for my order. One was on the back counter but was apparently not mine. There was a order one artist had just finished and they assumed it was mine. They did not have the receipt to double check. Artist bagged the order. I had to ask for a copy of my receipt. When I got to the vehicle I found the order is was given was not mine. When returning to the store they still could not find my correct order. They offered to remake my order. I chose not as they still had the counter full of orders. Shame on subway it the franchise owner for improper training and scheduling to ensure the staff could handle the load. Hopefully the refund was done correctly so I get my money back. I really like a couple of the ladies who work there. It's been quite a while since I last ate there, but they seemed pretty good. About average for any subway out there. I enjoy their food, it tastes good and is prepared well. My biggest complaint is that they charge extra for cheese when you hardly get any in the first place. But that's with all subways. The person behind us in line was THE most annoying customer I can remember in a long time and they were incredibly patient and courteous with her 100 requests on her sub. They have this bell you can ring if they do things right. I couldn't listen to this whiny customer anymore so when I paid I rang the bell. All the employees celebrate and the annoying customer was like "what just happened?" They told her they were celebrating a 100% satisfied customer. Subway food is what it is. Went in at 12:30 to order a BLT they said they were out of tomatoes. I asked if they are just out of the slices or completely out of tomatoes. She said they are just out of the slices and it takes a really long time to slice the tomatoes. I asked if I could just slice them. I looked I the bin and there was some in there still so I told her to put those on my sandwich. I'm not a chef but I'm pretty sure it doesn't take a long time to slice a tomato. Out of tomatoes at 12:30 and refuse to slice more. That attitude is why she was fat. It takes 30 seconds. I would hate to see what the back room looked like. read more

i eat here several times a month. the employees are always nice to me and get my order right. they always have fresh bread and always have enough stock of what you want. it was messy once after a lot of messy people ate there and never even cleaned up their crumbs all over. this has been my favorite subway to frequent. read more
