The protocol for ordering is different from most restaurants in that there are no servers to take your orders. You go pick up a menu and sit at a table to choose your items and then proceed to a counter to place your order and pay. You are then given a number to bring to the table and the food is delivered when ready. The service is quick and brought to the table with accompanied silverware, etc. The employees are accommodating and pleasant. Cereals are served in large cups and drinks come with metal straws. The tables are also set with the usual condiments and also honey and maple syrup. The hours are 7 am to 3 pm seven days a week, so it is mainly set up for breakfasts and lunches. Since I have only dined there once so far , I can only say that the items I ordered were the best that I have ever had in any other restaurant or diner. The coffee and drink choices are many and their coffee is great, served in massive cups. I intend to visit again soon and try more dishes and anticipate that I won't be disappointed. The only minor complaint I had was the menus. Although they were large with many choices, the color printing and lightness of the characters made it a bit challenging to read. I brought this small complaint to the owner who received it with gratitude and understanding and replied that she intends to rectify it in the future. Great atmosphere, great service, great food and great management.

ATMOSPHERE: Since Chomp Chomp is located in a mall food court, the atmosphere is as expected -- lots of background noises, scents, and activity. In a nutshell, not a relaxing place to gather and dine. CONCEPT: Chomp Chomp is fast food, but offers a curiously diverse list of dishes such as pastrami sandwiches, rice bowls, pork belly bao, and Oklahoma-style burgers. Likewise, Chomp Chomp offers a diverse range of beverages to complement your chosen dish, including mango milkshake, Coke, and creamsicle float. FOOD: So much is offered on the menu, but I've been enamored by the Oklahoma-style burger and have yet to explore the menu. As I understand this century-old regional burger preparation method, beef is smashed on a grill, seasoned, topped with thin slices of onions, which in turn are covered with cheese. Steam from the onions permeates the cheese as it melts. The result is a super moist burger in which flavors of each component are married, rather than contrasted. SERVICE: Each time I've visited the person working the counter was enthusiastic about the new business and eager to offer guidance. TIP: For a few dollars more you can get fries and a drink. For a single burger this ends up being around cost of McDonald's ($12), but the quality, service, and flavor is far better at Chomp Chomp. The Oklahoma burger is available as single or double. I found that the flavor was more pronounced in the double version. Toppings are customizable. For example, you can add lettuce and tomato on a burger, or add meat or sauces to fries. (That said, I prefer to stick to the original Oklahoma burger version in order to experience the regional burger in its original form.)

They run a lean operation....sometimes just one person manning the grill so you order through a big tablet up front. Choose what you want to eat and drink and the person behind the counter makes it for you. If you put your phone number in when you order, you'll get a text when your food is ready. I usually have chicken when I visit Chomp Chomp and it's always juicy and hot. They have a Chomp Chomp sauce that I really like, it's especially good with fries. Additionally, the brioche buns they use are very high quality. This is a good alternative if you're tired of the other places in the food court.

When 'Tastes of Danbury' included Po-Yo, I wanted to try the Chicken and did just that. Had Chicken and Yuca fries and cheese fries. The Chicken, I believe, is marinated for a long time with the special Peruvian herbs and spices. (All Peruvian, not just here) That shows in the Chicken. I would call this flavor one of the best of this kind. Loved the chicken. Also, asked the nice lady what are the main take out orders for. It seems to be this chicken. My companions got the Ghost Chicken - which I heard was decent. The tacos looked real good. I loved the 5 different sauces that came with the table. Each one unique. They had beers on tap, which sealed the deal for me. Good place. Excellent staff, very friendly.

They had tables outside and in the shade - Ding Ding! This was also our first time at Po Yo. The staff was friendly from when I went inside to see if we could sit outside, our server, and the girl who brought our food out. Instead of bread or chips our meal started out with popcorn which was a nice change. My husband was not that hungry and ordered nachos, and I went with the cuban. Good thing I can eat because the nachos were HUGE. Layers of tortilla chips, shredded cheese, shredded rotisserie chicken, red onions, and black beans. On the side for toppings was cut up avocados, salsa, and sour cream. Besides the 1st layer it got cold sort of quick. We're not sure if the nachos finished before my sandwich or it was just the nature of the layers. My cuban was nicely toasted. The shredded chicken good. It had my fav the spicy mustard. I felt like there may have been mayo or another sauce that I could have done without. The shoe string french fries I chose as my side had just enough salt and were very good. Overall a good meal. Something different besides pizza and chinese food. Worth a try!

And the most notable... in lieu of relatively simple cheese and bacon burgers, Favi serves a variety of tall hamburgers known as X Tudu. A popular street and restaurant item in Brazil, X Tudu, pronounced "Shees-TOO-Dew" is a play on the Portuguese pronunciation for the letter X (Shees) and can be translated as "cheese with everything". And so it is! A variety of permutations are offered on the menu, with the classic X Tudu composed of layers of beef patty, mozzarella cheese, corn kernels, lettuce, tomato, bacon, ham, and fried egg encased in a sesame seed bun smeared with mayonnaise. EXPERIENCE: The X Tudus were highly recommended by neighbors, and I started with the Classic X Tudu. The composition seemed to exemplify a literal definition of brunch, with traditional American breakfast (egg, ham, bacon, cheese) joined with traditional American lunch (lettuce, tomato, corn, beef) in every bite. As this was my first experience with X Tudu, I am unable to remark on how well or how traditionally Favi executed the dish. I can report that the beef patty was relatively thin, allowing ground beef to be one of many thin layers that combine into a unique, complex single bite. Yuca fries complemented the X Tudu, as well as a small container of garlic-intense avocado purée. A refrigerator case is stocked with a wide variety of Brazilian desserts, including Brigadiero (chocolate fudge balls covered with chocolate sprinkles), as well as unique sugar-based sodas. Shelves are lined with Brazilian candies. It is clear that sweets are popular in Brazil! TIPS: X Tudu is very filling, as intended, and great option to pick up for brunch on a weekend errand run. I am told by neighbors that they prefer the sirloin option at Favi's (X Tudu Picanha). Try the imported Brazilian sugar-based sodas that are flavored with rainforest fruit (Guarana). Parking is available on the right side of the entrance.

Hungry For Halal…read more Karl Anthony Towns is playing hungry for the Knicks again, like he hasn't had a Chopped Cheese Sandwich since the Dominican Day Parade or from Mainstreet Muncheez in Danbury, CT. I rave about my Chopped Cheese Sandwich discovery at work, explaining how I'm more in touch with my NY roots since I've had my 1st Chopped Cheese Sandwich, a bodega cheese steak creation from Spanish Harlem, despite my first experience eating one being at Mainstreet Muncheez in Danbury, CT. A female coworker who wasn't involved in my conversation with my coworker notices that I have the room's attention, which annoys her. So, Mrs. Buzzkill says, "That's a bad area. I wouldn't go there." And I say, "When you lived in Queens and Brooklyn, you're not sweating a breezy walk down Main Street in Danbury, no offense." Anyone who works in Danbury or the neighboring area needs Main Street Muncheez in their life; it's across the street from the Mothership Café, another regional culinary pride in Danbury. The handsome Brookview Commons West is a modern apartment complex that gleams above next-door signals that more positive, cosmopolitan change is in the air. Now, some people who've never worked in Manhattan aren't familiar with Halal food or, dare I say, "street meat", which is what Main Street Muncheez specializes in while making it anew. The Lamb and Chicken over rice with white sauce, hot sauce on the side at Main Street Muncheez is top tier, top of the heap, in a league of its own. The yogurt-based white sauce oozes with sultry, super-tasteful flavor, and the smoky, chunky, not insanely hot, hot sauce is a winner, assuming you don't drape your entire dish in it. Understand that Halal food adheres to Islamic dietary law, which is similar to Kosher law, forbidding pork but allowing the eating of cow, lamb, and chicken, slaughtered in a ritualistic way that causes minimal animal suffering, which pleases our maker. Both religions use a specialty knife to kill the animal, except Muslims give a shout to Allah before slicing Mary's Little Lamb's throat. Now, most Chicken Cheese Steaks are bland, boring, and annoyingly regrettable. The Chicken Cheese Steak I had at Mainstreet Muncheez doesn't suffer from the same depressingly predictable fate. Then again, not every Chicken Cheese Steak is made from holy minded, Halal chicken. Try a Chicken Cheese Steak from Muncheez on Main Street. The West Conn kids can't get enough of them, and you'll never crave a dry, ordinary, traditional cheese steak from Jersey Mike's ever again. I can't emphasize this enough: the Lamb and Chicken over rice at Mainstreet Muncheez is perfect. The only problem is that it disappears from your plate way too fast. The firm chopped lettuce strips, interspersed throughout the Lamb and Rice, add a welcome springy complexity to the pillowy yellow rice beneath. But my favorite lunchtime treat from Mainstreet Muncheez is the Chopped Cheese Sandwich. I'd enter a no-go-zone area in London to snag one if they made them there. The Halal meat wasn't spilling out from the side. The chopped meat was perfectly seasoned. The bread was fresh, crisp, and crackled with East Coast bread authority. The lettuce and tomatoes inside the Chopped Cheese Sandwich were fresh and snappy. A hit of Ketchup inside the Chopped Cheese Sandwich was a welcome insertion that didn't make it taste like a cheeseburger from Beefsteak Charlie's either. My Chopped Cheese Sandwich was more satisfying, flavorful, and life-enriching than the short rib grilled cheese I had earlier that week, which came with tomato chutney at a posh, upscale, farm-to-table American restaurant in Danbury. You don't need the munchies to enjoy Main Street Muncheez on Main Street in Danbury, CT. Every morsel of Halal blessed meat shines. I'm only eating Kosher meat and halal meat now because of it. Kosher chefs and Halal chefs produce holy-hued meat creations that please our creator for not eating anything that's plopped in front of us. I'm hungry for more Halal and have no problem becoming a new age evangelist for my new Kosher, Halal meat mix diet.
