Spatula used to stir the tea is now sitting on top of the trash opening. ‍
    Mon R.

I couldn't get past the sanitary issues to enjoy my purchased food. The spatula used to stir the sweet tea was set out on the counter next to the trash opening. The same spatula was then used by an employee on break to not just push down the trash overflow but THEN put back into the tea!!! I'm entirely done with this location.

This is just Louisiana Fried Chicken, you can see there is another entry in here with that name and the reviews are not nearly as kind. Service was perfectly fine, the place is small but seemed clean enough. There endeth the passable things. I ordered spicy fried chicken 3pc (LWT), red beans and rice and a pint of gumbo (holy trinity, chicken, sausage, crab and shrimp - more on that to come and it isn't good). Those are a trinity for me, if you will, when sampling and then judging Louisiana fried chicken places. So, Enter Sandman... I got food poisoning, which is an automatic 1. I don't like to give them out, but for extreme circumstances; this being one of those circumstances. The food: The fried chicken was not golden brown it was dark brown, which says old oil/grease. It was bitter, but edible. I ordered spicy, and if they consider whatever I got as spicy, they need to dial it up. I detected no spice. The lady at the counter asked if I wanted hot sauce, I said yes, but it didn't meander its way into my order. The red beans and rice... I don't know what kind of black roux they use and how hard they cook the rice for it to be this mushy. It smelled like it should be good, but I had to add my own Cajun seasoning and some Tobasco to liven it up, even still it was more of, "I paid for it so I'm going to eat it" at this point. Popeye's RB&R is WAY better, and that Popeye's on the corner isn't even a good Popeye's. Now what I believe to be the criminal, the file seafood, chicken, sausage (note I didn't say Andouille, because this was straight up garbage Eckrich). It was a pint, and it was almost black (me assuming because they made a file gumbo, now I'm not so sure). It was packed with a thick mush of *mostly*, onion, celery and green pepper. Scattered among them were stringy pieces of boiled chicken, 2 or 3 pieces of sausage, I did not identify if there was indeed any crab in there because I never saw it and two soggy ass fried shrimp on top. I should've just tossed the whole thing in hindsight. I did pitch the shrimp. I didn't trust how they looked. I dumped the pint (it had that odd colored overcooked rice too), i added quite a bit of water, brought it to a boil, reduced to simmer. I had to add seasoning to this as well as some tobasco. I ate about 1/3 of it or so, then just pitched the rest. *a few hours later (said in that French accent you're now reading it in)* I'm pounding Nauzene, and pounding the toilet. Let's say, oh... about 8 -9 hours? The easiest way to explain how long. As the very unpleasantries began, I put on John Wick, I watched all 4 before finally being *done* and able to go to bed about 0500. Suffice to say, I will not be back. I give this two thumbs down and a raspberry.

The parking lot was like what I remembered but inside was a different layout so I am not sure if it was the same spot. Anyway, prices were very reasonable! When the food came out, we could immediately see it passed the eye test--cheese drizzling, real meat, grilled bun. First bite was excellent--I could taste the grilled bun, the flavor of the burger and even the crisped grilled parts of the meat. All other bites, just the same. Had me audibly saying "yum". On top of that, they offered horchata to drink and it was delicious. The fries weren't only well seasoned but they also had an usual kick of heat. This will be my go-to burger spot when I'm in the Garland area. Thanks for being great and charging fairly!

Lots of drink options from the standard soft drinks, iced tea, fruit drinks and horchata! The service is fast, friendly and helpful! The burgers and fries are the stars. I had the Big House combo (Massive, 3 patties with American cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, pickles, mayo and mustard). it includes a drink and fries. Really good fries. There are more reasonable big burgers, but my hunger was unreasonable and I needed a burger that was too big to eat, a knife and fork burger. The flavor was absolutely spot on! I'm guessing each patty was a 1/2 pounder. perfectly caramelized, moist, beefy. Price was VERY reasonable. Yes, no burger was left behind. I did go home and take a long nap afterwards :)

Asked for water, as I don't drink soft drinks or tea and the young man told me "we don't give cups for water, what do you want to drink". I said nothing to drink then and got my bottled water from the car. People should be able to have water with their meal, even if you have to charge for the cup or sell bottled water. Just my opinion. Sandwich was tasty but I didn't taste/see much cheese, supposedly Swiss? O rings were good and crispy, fair portion. Side of cheese sauce was TINY, fyi. Service at the counter was friendly other than the refusing a cup for water. Manager/owner came thru dining room to check on customers, good move. I didn't like the credit card surcharge (without being told or signage advising) as I had cash. 15% tip for counter service with the CC surcharge made my sandwich and o rings $18 and I had to provide my own water. Pricey lunch. Dining room could use a good sweeping, washing and painting. Both restrooms had signs on the door that they were out of order, but employees used them? Food and service 4 stars, minus a star for unannounced surcharge and no water. I would go again but not dine in, so I can get water and use the restroom.

The new spot is more spacious, no longer tucked inside a gas station, and you can actually breathe without inhaling a cloud of fried chicken aroma. Major win. And the chicken? Still . Only difference I think they stopped brining it. (A best maid pickle bring omg !!! ) So the flavor don't get to the bone but it's still slap yo momma good! 99.9% chance of me coming back next week for more. P.S. This unassuming restaurant tucked in a corner of nondescript row of stores has stood the test of time. My first review of the place was in 2013. Here it is 13 years later then it is still going strong. I went for lunch with the family on a snow day. You order at the counter and they bring it to your table. No numbers, they just remember who you are. I always get combo number 1 and add sweet potato fries. The prices are great and not much more than McDonalds but the difference in value is significant. The burgers are not thick but this time I noticed the double burger (#2) is just a couple of bucks more than the the single patty in #1. Note to self for next time. Although the patty is thin, the flavors work. The burger comes with lettuce, tomato, onion, and mustard. No ketchup, you add that yourself. The bun with sesame seeds always comes out piping hot. Sweet potato fries are crispy and not greasy. The combo comes with a drink for $10.99. That's a deal. I hope they stay in business another 13 years!
