First time stopping into this Tacos El Amish location (us gringos pronounce it "Ehlll Ahh-meeesh")…read moreand it was awesome... Great little authentic taqueria up on the far northeast side of town. We've been to the restaurant on Broadway (which is good), but the Harlan location is better. Both locations are owned by the same family and you can tell they work their butts off to offer a quality product to their customers. The Broadway location is "tacos only" (nothing else), where as Harlan offers all your traditional Mexican fare. We got tacos, beans, and rice, and it was excellent... Our favorite taqueria in town is Rigo's down in Waynedale, but this location gives them a run for their money. Their tacos here are absolute fire, they stuff them silly full, and they offer up four different types of salsas (they've got some damn kick, so be careful) with cucumbers and radishes. The one thing we really like is they don't overly salt any of their food unlike other taquerias around town. You know this place is good when you're the only gringos eating there... Add in friendly/service, fair/reasonable prices, cool authentic/old school looking design inside, and Tacos El Amish is a hidden gem. If you're up on the northeast side of town, this little taqueria is worth the stop... You will not be disappointed (unless you don't like authentic Mexican food).

The tacos were so delicious and full of meat! The server was attentive and checking in on us often…read more The decor of the restaurant really provides an insight into a Mexican household.

We weren't expecting to find such amazing food at this restaurant!! We were driving from one state…read moreto another and stopped at the gas station (next to the restaurant), and decided to give this Italian place a try, and we're so glad we did. The prices are very affordable, the portions are huge, and the food is absolutely SOOO delicious. Totally exceeded our expectations. So, If you're passing through the area or happen to live nearby, I definitely recommend stopping here, you won't regret!

We had a great dinner at Salvatori's. Two of us ordered calzones. They were huge and stuffed…read morealmost too full of toppings. Hubby wanted to eat lighter, so ordered the peppers, onions, and sausage appetizers simmered in red sauce. The portion was huge and definitely enough for his main entree. Another of our party ordered spaghetti and meatballs side, which he also enjoyed and was a huge portion. We loved the hot breadsticks. The only down side is that my daughter's entree was late. The server told us that the kitchen had pretty much just spaced it and didn't start making her food with the rest of our order. She did not receive her entrée until all of the rest of us were completely finished eating. Well, we were good natured about it and didn't create a fuss or complain or asked to talk to a manager,, but Salvatori's also didn't take the initiative to offer any additional words of explanation, apology, or even a coupon off our next visit. My daughter's entrée came out so hot, that the ceramic plate was actually steaming. Ordinarily that is not a bad thing if she would receive her order at the same time as everyone else.. She felt so awkward about having to wait until it cools off before she can eat, and knowing that all the rest of us were finished and waiting on her that she just pretty much asked for a box and packed it up to take it home. That was a bit of a bummer.
