This is the Best Subway in San Diego, next to the drive thru one in Mira Mesa, but the employees here are truly Sandwich Artist. Staff are nice, presentable, quick, and knowledgeable. I understand covid has impacted the food industry and not many people want to work but the guy working there today may 25th 2021 pm shift 2 :00 pm to be exact was something else to a different level looked like he was just there for the paycheck his edd ran out or something almost an hour with only 2 guest in front of me to get a sub you guys going to go broke paying this guy 15$ an hour when it takes him 30 min to make an 8$ sub I know desperate times calls for desperate measures but that guy gotta go work at a library or something I could of gone to the subway down the street and gotten faster service. The one I've used for years, and now you couldn't pay me to go back. Read that subway was giving a 1/2 sub to vets today. So my friend and I decided to take advantage of this kindness. We walked in and asked one of the workers if they were honoring their ad. She ignored us. Asked again a little louder. She rudely said NO without looking up. Not that subway is famous for making their sandwiches the way the tv or ads have them, it's alright. Sometimes I look at them as they fill my sandwich up with a pinch of lettuce, or sometimes a slice of meat, but for some reason, the 5 dollar catch phrase always gets me coming back. I found this particular subway to be an amazing place to get a bite to eat. Not only is a 5 dollar foot long the only way to go but the staff were prompt and precise. While I wouldn't usually write a review of a Subway, upon seeing the bulletproof glass my first thought was to write one. My group, along with every other person entering after us was greeted with "Welcome to Subway!" (shouted over the bulletproof glass). I enjoyed that touch that most Subways don't offer. The gentleman that made our sandwiches wasn't fast but wasn't slow, which made the sandwich perfect. It got the love it needed and I didn't get impatient waiting. I most likely will not return unless I am in the area again, that's stricty due to the location. read more

Usually I do not like to review subways but I must this one as I had a wonderful experience. The lady who works here in afternoon is super sweet and friendly. She suggested that I try carved turkey with bbq sauce so I did. That was the best sub I ever had at subway. I have possibly had thousands of meals at subway over the years did I must say that new addition to subs such as carved and rotisserie chicken and excellent addition to the increasingly dull or uncreative menu. read more

Had a terrible experience today Sunday April 28th . At 1:30 pm. As soon as I walked in I did not get greeted at all . Immediately felt unwelcome , Tall guy with a beard and tattoo on his left forearm comes out and immediately give off bad energy , very rude. Blatantly asks me what I want. I brush it off and order. Grabs me a Burnt bread. I ask for another, he says why ?? There's nothing wrong with it. I say please change the bread. Again tries to combat it. When it comes to the veggies I'm now 5 minutes into making my sandwich . Very slowly and very minimally adding veggies to my sandwich . Okay fine. Keeping my cool. As he was wrapping my sandwich he smashes my sandwich as he wraps. I look at him and smile . I previously worked at subway . I know what he was doing the entire time. I lived right next to this Subway for over 2 years. I still catch myself driving there since I moved. Its a good place to go with only (literally) 5 bucks in your pocket. This particular location really stretches that 5 dollar value. They stuff the sandwich more than any other Subway I've been to. The normal MO of other Subways is stinginess -- not here. Even if you ask for extra toppings, no problem and no charge. So on one of those lazy nights you don't feel like cooking, go here rather than any other Subway in town. Since my friend and I are regulars and always order their delicious chopped salads they get their big bowls and "choppers' out as soon as they see us come through the door. Terrible service. Ive never been to a Subway that when you ask for something they do the opposite of what you want. I ask for very little Mayo, the guy squirts on too much. The woman behind me tells the workers she wants a certain sandwich and the guy behind the counter says they do not make them that way. She tells him, "I came here last night and had it this way and they proceed to go back and forth and she walks out because they will not make the sandwich the way she requested and had it made last night. Mind I do have a deep voice, but the employee decides to give a attitude towards me and I can't help if my voice is too deep. I like the food but the people were very rude. I think its because I don't look like I speak Spanish that they think they can make fun of people in Spanish. I was the only customer in there and they were bad mouthing me the whole time like I had no idea what they were saying. Being that I'm really trying to stay away from Mickey D's, I was hunting for a Subway and stopped at this location because it's fairly close to my work. I was delighted to see only two people in line at during lunch hour and was greeted by a wrinkled woman who was seemingly very high on an anphetamine of some sort. Her jaw clacking and rapid eye movement were almost enough to scare me out of the store, however her speed and attention to detail kept me in line. The cashier was also friendly and fast (maybe her and the wrinkled gal were sharing the goods). They both asked me if I wanted the footlong (being only $5) but I always get the soup and 6 inch combo so I declined. After arriving back to work and cracking open my soup lid, I was disappointed to see that not only was my soup filled only half way but that it was watery. I understand that Subway has the whole 2 scoops of soup per bowl BS going on, but seriously, they make it look like they're robbing you. Change the size of the cup to accomodate the crappy provision you've mandated so that we don't feel cheated. Other than the soup being a little less than par, I was happy to get out of there in less than 5 minutes and on my way back to work. Beware of antibiotics in the meat. Lookup the fast food study on CNN. It is unreal that McDonalds got a better grade than Subway.

The quality of the meat at Subway is unimpressive but the restaurant is very clean and the staff is nice

Can't say enough about Joselyn, very cheerful, efficient and friendly. Good customer service skills are a plus for this location. The new carved turkey is to die for, love it and it is actually good for you, another plus. Needless to say, I will be back for more yummies. read more
