I was really hungry and just needed a sandwich. I didn't want a ban mi or Subway, just something different. Searched on Yelp and Monroe's came up. It was a little far from work but I wanted to get away from there so I ventured out. It's a great location though parking can be a challenge. I just parked a little in the red in front. The people are really nice. I ordered a turkey and ham sandwich with cheddar. It was made with such care that everything in the sandwich was a perfect balance. They also have some sandwich combinations that look good too! I wandered around while waiting and found Olipop...that lemon ginger soda was really good, as was the cream soda. I normally don't drink soda but I'll make an exception for something different. Definitely worth coming to! read more

Just discovered this wonderful deli and market while walking my granddaughter. I ordered the Chipotle Chicken with bacon and avocado on toasted sourdough. Stopped by and got a wrap Togo on a Saturday afternoon. I got the Cajun chicken which is usually a sandwich but I ordered it wrap style. I placed my order over the phone which was quick and easy! It only took about 20 minutes which was fairly quick for a weekend lunch rush hour. The wrap was heavy on the lettuce. I felt like because of this, some of the other flavors were a bit lost. Yesterday, we were looking for a deli to order great sandwiches from. I went to the Yelp app of course to search and I came across Monroe's. It had mostly great reviews so we decided to give it a try. We placed an order through Uber Eats and it was delivered pretty quickly. We both loved our sandwiches. I had the Turkey sandwich with bacon & avo and it was great. The Turkey was described as oven roasted and thankfully it was. It was fresh and not slimy. They had several bread choices and I chose rye bread and it was lightly toasted and delicious. The sandwiches came with pickles on the side. I have been disappointed in other delis so I was really happy that the sandwiches were fresh and great. We will definitely order from Monroe's again. read more

This is one of my favorite delis! It's inside the corner liquor store (which has so much good stuff btw). The owner is so sweet and always welcoming. The liquor store itself is always clean and fully stocked. I actually live in the street about 400ft away so I order from here almost weekly and walk over. It's super easy to call in or order there and the wait isn't super long. They use boars head meats, which is the best!! I LOVE their chipotle chicken sandwich and their chicken bacon Caesar wraps in the spinach tortilla! Definitely recommend giving this spot a try! read more

Blatant discrimination. I entered the store, looking for cream cheese & couldn't find it, so I asked the ladies behind the deli counter. One says "We should!" and goes to look for herself. She doesn't see any so she asks a man stocking the shelves, who could either be a manager or the owner, if there's any more cream cheese in the back. He turns around, looks me up and down, and then answers "No." Not only did he not check, but there is NO reason to do a head to toe scan of me with your eyes and THEN answer. They use Boars Head meats, which we all know is the bougie brand of deli meat and cheese. In my experience the best sandwiches are usually found at a deli within a local market, and I was pleased to find out that this is the case with Monroe's. I decided on their Italian Sub. The sub roll was very fresh (this HAS to be the case for a good sandwich) and the ingredient, both meat and fixings, were high quality and fresh (they use Boars Head products). The two young women running the deli were friendly and informative about their menu items. The sandwich was delicious. I really wanted to like Monroe's Market. They are close by and they had great reviews on yelp. So I gave them a shot. I ordered some sandwiches for my wife and I and stopped in to pick them up. I was given the sandwiches and walked out, only to realize that I forgot I needed to order a drink. I went back inside and walked up to the counter and waited for a minute or two, and when I noticed no one was noticing I was there I kindly said "excuse me" and heard no response. So I more loudly said excuse me again, and this time the employee working there yelled at me that he heard me the first time and to hold on. Quite honestly, this completely ruined my experience at Monroe's. I'm a very friendly guy from a small town and I totally understand being busy. But when I say excuse me kindly and you don't respond, how am I supposed to know you heard me? Acknowledge me and I'll gladly wait patiently. Instead I was then made to feel like the jerk, I picked out a bottle of water that was HIGHLY marked up ($4) and I thought whatever, I'll buy it and go home to enjoy my sandwiches. I try to pay for it and he tells me (very rudely) that there's a $5 minimum. I was in a rush so I just asked if he could just charge me $5 for it or something and he said no and that I needed to pick out something. So I rushed and found a pack of gum (despite that fact that I just paid $20+ for two sandwiches). Now, when it comes to the sandwiches: they were ok. Quite honestly I've had much better from FatBoys or Ike's. And the prices were WAY overpriced when there are much better options in town. But the real killer here was this dude's poor attitude.
