I had a whole two hours for lunch today, and I couldn't find anything in the immediate area that was too appealing. As I was walking around searching, I finally came across this place and decided I would just eat here since they already have several sandwiches that I know and like. They have quite a few new sandwiches, but ultimately I decided to get the Ultimate BMT that had a couple of types of meats like pepperoni, salami, and ham. It also included double the amount of provolone cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and onions by default. I requested that they delete the onions and instead add jalapeno peppers, black olives, and pickles. I also requested a small fountain drink. I ate my lunch here in the restaurant, and it was a welcome relief to be sitting down inside with nice air conditioning. My review is based on 6 visits - and only 1 sub was good. I got a ham and cheese footling with 5 slices of ham & 5 half slices of cheese- a ton of lettuce and mayo that I was eating drippy lettuce on a big bun. The steak and cheese was not edible and 1 out of the Spicy Italian had enough meat- they are using the amount of meat for a 6 inch on a 12" sub. Spreading out 4 slices of salami/ 4 slices of pepperoni and 4 half pieces of cheese on a footling witn a ton of lettuce is a total rip off for $12.99. They used to have the meat slices pre measured with wax paper- and I went to Cleveland Park location and the same girl that made an awful sub was working there as well. I am done with subway. There is not a lot wrong with this subway establishment, but if you want your sandwich made the way that you ordered it you should not I repeat do not order online because they will make your sandwich poorly! They will not add extra things but they will leave off ingredients or not give you extra ingredients when you requested online. I ordered a sandwich it had Double X Y and Z, but it was just a single serving of vegetables instead of the double order. They also left off a vegetable that I requested to have on there. The online order ticket spells out everything that you order but they don't pay attention very well to that. If it says double spinach then they put a little bit of spinach on the sandwich and move on! I'd rather pay for the double vegetables then to be cheated or skimped on My order! So order in person if you can and then you will get what you ask for, otherwise you'll get what they give you. read more

The coupon I "tried" to use was the buy one footlong and one fountain drink. And get one footlong for free. Which is a great deal and marketing promotion tactic. It worked. I came in to do that. I got a chicken terriyka and one meatball sub for my boss. Well. IT DID NOT WORK!!! When trying to scan the coupon the system would not register the coupon. Then server(An old middle eastern/asia/ white hair/ probably mid60-70s/ 5'3 around that - Told me that I had used the coupon and why system was not working. I explain to the server that is not possible since I just ripped out the coupon from the paper in front of my boss to get him the meatball sub. What happened next is NOT OKAY!!! He called me a lair. Not just once but twice. I tried to get managers number. THey both would not give me the managers number. other young lady. I am going back until I get this managers number. Subway you lost a loyal customer today. You can fix this by figuring out a better way to deal with the disposal and usage of these coupons..becasue this has been the worst experience. The same thing happened to me yesterday at your Chevy Chase DC location. But it was a server problem. I had come to this Subway near my house to see about having 2 platters made for my Baby Shower. I love Subway and I've NEVER had anything bad from them. Whether it be customer service or a fresh sandwich made. This is my first baby, and my first baby shower I've EVER had, SO EVERYTHING had to be FRESH, ON TIME and WELL made! I walked in, told them I was interested in their platters. The staff was extremely friendly and engaging. They listened to my request and even helped me figure out what would work well. I finally chose 2 platters, "The Craver Platter" (I'm a meat eater, and so are MOST people) & "The Veggie Platter" (For those who just want greens). I came on Thursday to order "The Craver Platter" just to try it in advance. It was A..M...A...Z...I..N..G!!!! Super fresh, tasty and simple but delicious. Pre-paid on Friday and Picked it up on Sunday@ 11:50 am. OVERALL.....IT WAS PERFECT! Alot of guests ate the sandwiches (especially the "Craver Platter"). In fact that platter was DONE by the end of the day. There was nothing left. Lol. The "Veggie Platter" was good too but not as popular as the "Craver Platter". But still worked well, Because I filled it with some deli meats and my friend and I finished the "veggie platter" too in the end. The owner I believe (short guy with glasses shoes who is the only person that I've ever seen they're working), Hass to be one of the rudest, most unprofessional person that I have ever met. During the month of August, there are coupons for foot-long's for half price. I would go into the store and do that promotion while sitting there, and I do not know if that made him mad or something because one day I had ordered him a foot-long from home and went down to pick it up at 7 o'clock. When I got there around 7:10 he said it was not ready and he did not receive a ticket but I received an email stating that the order went through to his address and the pick up time would be 7:20pm. So that time came and gone and said he still hasn't received anything and he kept pointing to the sky or somewhere stating that you need to go to another subway , didn't understand that nor did he explain what that meant, and to call subway, which I believed he meant the HQ somewhere and that It's not his problem. I stated that the money was taken from my account and on the receipt of the email. It was your store address so you receive the money and you try to keep pointing the air trying to say technically he did not receive the money, so maybe it was the IT department phone or something I still do not know. So after a couple days of trying to contact Subway with no success, I went back to the store and was upset and explain to him the situation, and that there would be further consequences (not threatening), because I had to prove that you took the money, and I did not receive any good. When you do the online order as I did in the store, there's an alarm of some type that tells you there is a order placed online. I believe he heard that order and did not make it because I was not there and proceeded to delete it, and to give me the runaround and thought, maybe I just wouldn't care. Ultimately he met, gave me the sandwich because he knew he was in the wrong and the guy is just an incredible jerk. Also, at the end, he proceeded to imply that he did not care that he gave me the food because it's not a big deal to him like he was rich or something, which was totally unprofessional. I am a pretty avid eater of subway subs and my partner the wraps, The one I usually go to in VA is great, but this one just gets a "meh" from me. I asked for a 12" cold cut combo with double meat on italian herbs and cheese and a Baja Steak wrap. He pulls out the bread, tears the heck out of it while cutting it with what I assume to be a dull knife and then asks me what wrap I want for the Baja. He pulls out the tort and then asks me what meat I want on the sub. Uhmm, I asked for cold cut combo, double meat.... he put all the meat on the top part, which was partially torn in several spots, I tell him my toppings and he put so much lettuce in it that he could barely get it closed to cut it in half, for my sauce I only got mayo. For the Baja steak wrap, I literally had to pull up what it was on the subway website and show him and then read to him what the listed ingredients were, once made he then proceeded to roll this poor thing so hard he tore the wrap completely on the outside and wrapped up what resembled a large softball. When I got home about 20 minutes later, the cold cut combo was wet and soaked, I assume the lettuce was wet? not sure, but because the top was torn and it was cut so bad and ALL the double meat was on the top of the sub, the bread had basically become this wet sloppy mess on top that barely held in the rest of the sub. Maybe it was just how he was trained? (I have actually worked at a subway before) but when you destroy the bread, it's common courtesy to ask if the customer wants a different loaf, especially on a double meat sub. all in all, it's close to my home and easier to get to then the one I frequent in VA, and I wouldn't have any issues going back... but I would hope that I would get someone who was better trained next time or on a night where there was more than just one person, as this poor guy was clearly working solo. read more

Subway is the new Starbucks. Everywhere you look, you can find a Subway. Why are there 3 within 2 blocks of each other? I don't know, but more power to them. This particular location is a great quick stop after work, especially if you're on your way to some sort of gathering or sporting event. I never liked how all Subways forget about the toasting option until it's too late. I'm sorry, but I want the bread toasted, not the tuna and fixins too. Do you know what toasted tuna tastes like? I do. I like how Subway does it's best to help the community. For $1 each, my friend and I donated to one of their great causes. Unfortunately, it was a while back so I forget the exact cause, but in the store they hung a special certificate with our names. Since my friend and I act like 5-year olds, you would have seen that "Ace" and "Derek Lowe" were proud contributors to Subway's philanthropic efforts. A few days later a friend of ours ran into us and told us how he saw that we were proud contributors to a good cause. I have seen the full Subway spectrum from the cleanest, friendliest locations to the dirtiest, rudest spots - but I am sorry to report that this location is the absolute worst. At work I provide admin support to around 150 people or so and often I have to order food for some reason at the last minute. On Tuesday, I got to work a little after 9, and someone says to me "Did you order lunch for the training today?"....of course I didn't b/c no one asked me-or even mention that we needed food, the training started at 11:30 so needless to say I had no time to spare. So I started calling placing and of course searching on Yelp to see what places would give me lots of food on such a short notice. After getting rejected and being told by other places, they needed more time. While searching the internet for sandwiches, Subway shows up and guess what they were only 4 blocks away. I called, I ordered, and I pick to pick up the food, it was ready, fresh and they even helped me put the food in my car. Such great service, I plan to use again. read more

frowns, slamming of bread and veggies, and misery is what you get at face value from the staff. every time i come here, i'm so timid because i don't want to receive scowls and roars because i'm inconveniencing them by buying a sandwich. it's even worse when they get my order wrong because a) since i don't want to eat a sandwich that isn't prepared the way i'd like, i have to correct them and b) this means more scowls and roars even though they're the ones at fault. when i finally break free, it's just another subway sandwich. you just have to deal with more bullshit to get this one. read more

the new management at this location is wonderful! they were doing a buy one get one promotion so i went in and was immediately greeted but friendly workers. they made my sandwich quickly and well and were extremely friendly the entire time i was there. they even gave me the promotion despite me not having the coupon and gave me a free cookie at the end. overall if was a very pleasant experience. the location is easy to find and very clean. i will definitely be visiting this location again! Is it that difficult to make a f'ing sandwich?!? I walked in and one worker was ringing up another customer and gave her a free cookie for the road. The other worked asked me what I wanted. Although I was impressed he folded individual slices instead of just slabbing them on there which they do at some Subways, he put bad cheese on my sandwich. With two piles of pepperjack to chose from, he picked slices from the stack that looked age, yknow when it has that dark plasticy rim when it hasnt been sealed best in a fridge? Yea, he picked from that stack instead of the perfectly good stack next to it. I immediately stopped him. Then, after putting on the appropriate toppings, I requested honey mustard sauce. Within two seconds he managed to dump half a bottles worth of dressing on it. After yelping "That's enough!" too late, he did attempt to wipe some off but that damage had been done. I believe this location is under new management. I ate here once before, and it was just an average experience. However, on my recent visit, it was obvious that this location was making a very serious effort to build a reputation and earn loyal customers. The location was clean, and every single person I interacted with asked my level of satisfaction with my visit. The food was good, my order was accurate. While I was eating, the manager was walking around touching tables, and making sure everyone's experience was pleasant. I plan on going here for lunch more often with the hopes that this really positive experience is the rule not the exception. read more

I noticed the awesome reviews, and Unfortunately, mines was not the same. I came into subway at 6:30 am the time that they open. I had to wait nearly 15 minutes for the toaster to heat up. I love my sandwiches toasted in the A.M. I was first told by the gentleman it would be 4 minutes for the warmer to heat up, then I came back inside. I was told then told it will be an additional 8 minutes. My sandwich was done at 6:42 am. I had to be to work at 7am. So I had to rush to get to work. ANYWHO, the gentleman slid my sandwich in front of me with a attitude and asked me If I wanted to bag. I said yea, and I told him I also wanted a drink. The experience was OK. Could have been better if he had a smile on his face or acted like he cared to make my sandwich. The lettuce was not fresh looking at all, It was like one color from turning brown. I would assume you would want your products looking fresh in the morning vs. two day ago lettuce. From working in the food industry majority of my teenage years, I knew that lettuce had to expire days ago because today could NOT have been its last day. I saw a sign that said the store was under new management and they must have been making big improvements since the last management according to past yelp reviews. I had a coupon for that restaurant that was given out at my school and a man (who I'm assuming was the manager) asked me about the coupon and my school and wanted suggestions of when is the best time to go to my school and hand out coupons to the college kids. He was very friendly and I gave him my suggestions and he gave me a free cookie !! Plus they are not stingy with the amount of ingredients they put on your sub. read more
