Good food but some of the employees are passive aggressive (avoiding eye contact, being rude)

A friend invited me to go on a little Duke's tour with her, and this was our first stop. They were decked out in panda decor and had a charming menu. I was mainly there for their drinks, but I decided to try their quinoa salad too. What a hefty, satisfying salad! The butternut squash, goat cheese, and pumpkin seeds were the highlights. Based on this initial experience, I'd be back for sure. Good happy hour too. Now, this location may be a little out of my way, but thankfully there are closer Duke's.

Server came by, not so much as a greeting or introduction, just a short, "do you know what you want?" Fine - no problem. We ordered two avocado toasts and side of fries to share. Now, the menu clearly says the avocado toasts are served with a "runny egg". Ok sure, no problem. What i did not anticipate was a half raw egg with the yolk swimming in a sea of translucent completely uncooked "whites". It was like a golden disc encased in a snot rocket. Ok, maybe that's their "runny". Slide it off the toast and press on - snail trail of mucus be damned. The avocado spread was great - bright, citrusy, and well seasoned. The "hot sauce" was likely from a bottle and could have been left off. The radishes would have benefitted from being tossed in lemon, salt and pepper. The image of the "runny" egg was too much so I ate half the toast serving and meandered to the fries. Not bad, crispy , hot, and...wait...sweet...something is off, I can't put my finger on it but at least it's not a raw egg. I keep eating. My kids looks at me and says, "do these remind you of funnel cake?" THAT'S IT - FUNNEL CAKE. We have both had enough, ask for the check. The server comes by gives me the clunky machine, I tap and put it down, he reaches for it and I say, it's processing, I still have to sign...and then he starts snapping his fingers...WHAT IN THE ACTUAL €¥($ ARE WE DOING RIGHT NOW?!? Never again. Never, again.

Takeout review! I…read morewas craving some nachos and stumbled upon this place. Well, I'm so glad that I did because the food speaks for itself! El Bacho Nachos with grilled chicken. These nachos were DELICIOUS! The nachos cheese sauce took it over the top but the other toppings and the grilled chicken were all chefs kiss! It's the kind of nachos that you want to share but you're also enjoying too much to share. Al pastor taco with spiced pork and pineapple on a soft taco. This was FANTASTIC! The pineapple helped cool down the heat from the spiced pork but both flavors were perfectly paired together. Delicious! Overall both of my items were excellent. Not sure how it looks in person but the goal is now to visit and grab some more of their nachos and tacos. Packaged well for delivery with a few sauces on the side and a coupon for the next order. I'm a new fan! I love a good nachos and tacos so I was happy to stumble upon this.

Happy hour review I…read moresit at the bar and the service is great! Even got to chat with the chef once while it was slow which was cool. The happy hour food options are filling and affordable. Drink options are standard but you can get a variety of marg flavors which is nice and different than what most places offer. It has one of the later happy hours ending at 7 which I love. You don't have to sneak out of work early to catch it lol. It can get packed so go early!

We stopped by for lunch after walking around in Rock Creek Park on a weekend and found the place quite packed. Didn't know what the ordering system was at first - they have two staff at the bar but no waitstaff since you are supposed to order either at their station by the entrance or scan a QR code and seat yourself. Being a Biergarten they have a long list of beers which is great for those who like to try different brews. We had a cheeseburger, chicken tenders and tater tots. Forgot to order beer online but the bartender was very helpful so ended up getting it at the bar (I guess if you don't want to order online you can always order there). Anyway you take a number and food came out in about 10 minutes. Everything was quite tasty, and the chicken tenders has generous portions - I packed most of it home and made two more meals out of it! The restaurant is on the west side of the street so come summer it would be nice in the afternoons to be shaded outdoors. Right now still a bit too windy and cold which is too bad as they have a lot of outdoor seating some covered off a wide sidewalk. But indoors is pretty nice too, well decorated with many high tables and some booth plus regular tables. Nice ambience, not too crowded but plenty of people around. Given the beer selection will definitely be back again soon.

It's kind of tricky to do wings and karaoke simultaneously (the sticky fingers!), but you have to figure out how to juggle your singing and eating time. The karaoke hosts make signing up easy with a QR code. Other bars probably use the same program, but the song list is very current. Karaoke starts right at 8pm. Early in the night is best to do multiple songs. Because it's so close to Georgetown, and essentially GW and AU, you get the younger crowd coming in later, but karaoke is still fun! They picked ABBA and Billy Joel, among current artists. My friend and I got 20 wings, half and half Old Bay and Honey BBQ. Hot inside a takeout box, the wings came out quickly after we ordered. I wish they gave you more napkins to start, like more than two, but at least we got a wet wipe. They gave us more after we asked. My friend and I also got margaritas, a $7 special that night. Not the strongest but still good.

We ordered a burger, wings, and a mix of fries and onion rings. The burger was cooked a bit more than I prefer but it was still enjoyable. The real standouts were the wings. We tried the mango habanero and the Old Bay honey. Both were excellent, with the mango habanero carrying a nice kick and a saucier finish while the Old Bay honey had a great balance of sweet and savory. The onion rings were crispy. The seasoned fries were fine, though they weren't "seasoned" Overall, I would definitely come back for the wings. The burger I would likely pass on next time but the wings alone make this place worth a return visit.
