My very first job at the age of 15 was at McDonald's. I…read moreloved eating the food then. I love it now. Making a McDonald's burger is a science. No, it actually is....literally. The only thing missing in every McDonald's is a microscope. That's the level of precision, and that's why they are the mother of fast food for 70 years. There are two types of McDonald's Restaurants. One is Clean and One is Messy, and no I'm not referring to its floors. I'm referring to how they make their sandwiches. From step 1 all the way to placing it in the bag. This one I like going to when I do decide to indulge in my very sinful fast food crave. Why? Every time I have ordered, it has been tasty, well put together and the proportionality of the ingredients spot on. So, you don't have a soggy, sticky, greasy, messy burger in a paper bag handed to you. I've tried several McDonald's in my area downtown, but they are outright scary. Too much sauce, greasy bag, 2-day old fries and burnt buns.....Yup. Scary. So, whenever I do crave it and I'm in West Vancouver I'll go here. I mean we all know it's not the best food for you, and you can't even speak of quality when it comes to McDonald's, but actually you can.....in a weird sort of way even McDonald's has varying standards and quality control across different stores managed by varying managements. So, why only a 4 out of 5 when it's the one I like the most? My Fries were not topped up. This time.

It wasn't really close to the highway so it took a while to get there and the parking here is a bit funky. Ordering was easy. We lucked out with a spot right by the door and the ambience of the McDonald's rival any other McDonald's I've been to. The servers here seemed very nice for some reason and we're very friendly and took my order. As expected at McDonald's, the food came out very quickly and very hot. We grabbed a table and ate at the restaurant in the meal was great and we were ready to continue on our trip to head home can highly recommend a stop at this McDonald's so party on

I think with this place it's more the attitude, lack of effort and sloppy service that defines this Chipotle. Almost insulting. We ordered two bowls with steak and rice. The serving portions of both bowls were so off that you'd think that one of them was half the serving of the other. There was no one behind us but it was as if we were witnessing a chicken line running out of time. We asked for a cup of water with our meal and they said..."no cup of water, you have to buy a bottle". A restaurant that doesn't give tap water with their order....wow. That, I would have to say is a new species of crap service. The service reminded me of the cooks at the prison lunch-line counter....not that I would know prison lunch...but you know what I mean... The bowl didn't really taste like anything other than sodium. The steak was tough, overcooked, over seasoned, dry and extremely chewy. Interesting. I've gotten an overlying thematic experience with several Chipotles in Vancouver. I wish it were a good one. Yeah, I don't think I'll be going to Chipotles in this beautiful city anymore. #makeyourown.

I don't like Five Guys. This place made me like Five Guys…read more After several other Five Guys locations throughout the years, I decided to remove this particular fast food chain off of my list of indulgences, and the reason was because their burgers were consistently poor and their fries even poorer and cold. This changed yesterday when I tried the one in Park Royal. First thing I noticed was how clean the place was and orderly and the service matched the environment. Friendly and efficient. The Burgers were beautifully put together. Not overcooked and not squashed like most Five Guys, and the fries were the highlight. Stunningly cut and served piping hot fresh. All I gotta say is..... The Park Royal Five Guys made me give Five Guys another shot. Well done.

I came here to get a burger, drink and fries. I wanted a specific drink but they ran out and when I told the staff, she just ignored me and told me that she will let her manager know. Her manager is no where to be seen. The burger was ok. I had better Five Guys burger at another location. Their fries were not as good as their other locations as well. Parking here is horrible. It is like a war zone every time I come to Park Royal. On one positive note at least the restaurant is well maintained and clean.

We had to wait about 15 minutes but the kids loved running around on the lawn and we enjoyed the flowers. The restaurant has a large covered patio and indoor seating as well. I ordered their Mediterranean bowl, which had a nice mix of ingredients and everything tasted fresh. Nothing was too salty or seasoned. I also loved the cherry blossom festival drink special! They had a kids menu and the restaurant is family friendly. There were a few other tables with kids. If you are visiting the area, I would recommend Stanley's. Such a peaceful and scenic area!

It was the perfect Christmas-time ambience. We actually didn't order any of the special dishes for the holiday theming but stuck with the menu standards and loved everything we had. The spinach artichoke dip was the best I've ever had anywhere with perfect balance of creaminess and a lemony tang and served with nicely spiced tortilla chips. Everyone around us was ordering Lord Stanley's burger, and so I had to try it too, and it was wonderful. A great piece of Wagyu beef with the perfect accompaniments, including nicely melted cheese, bacon, raw onion, and tomato. The Caesar salad was also good and really huge. Their cocktail menu includes dessert coffees; Stanley's Monte Cristo is close to my all-time favorite. So I had them switch out Kahlua for Amaretto and ended up with what we call a Cafe Jessica: coffee, Grand Marnier, Amaretto, and whipped cream. It's the perfect combination. Service was friendly and attentive.

We liked it enough to buy a frozen tourtière to take home, and also picked up the steak and Guinness pie since apparently that's their most popular one. They serve ice cream at Savary Island Pie Company? Yup. They do now. I don't know when they started selling ice cream at this place but my bro was in the know and...well how could I turn down an opportunity for ice cream? Of course I would make room for it! When we got to the shop I was a bit confused with the setup cuz I recalled there being tables where people could sit down to eat. A bit of investigating cleared up my confusion. The space that I remembered, with tables and chairs was still around; it was just next door. It seems the Savary Island Pie Company expanded their space, and so the new space is the part that is now operating as an ice cream parlour. The guy working there was kind enough to let us sample some flavors before purchasing. After trying Apple Pie Salted Caramel and Dulce de Leche I decided to get Dulce de Leche in a cup. This is one of my favourite flavors to get when we buy Haagen Dazs ice cream. Kind of a family favourite I guess cuz a couple of other people in the family also ended up ordering Dulce de Leche! It's old fashioned style creamy ice cream. They do also have a few vegan flavors too though. What a treat! Ummm...I really should come back though to have some of their pie sometime since they are after all, supposed to be known for their pie and not their ice cream!
