    Such menu differences from USA.
    Russell Z.

Ok first off, forget everything you know about A&W if you're from the USA. In the USA's A&W, there's no breakfast, no poutine, there's no super extensive menu, no whole wheat bun, food quality on par with McDonalds, the list of negatives go on and on. Meanwhile, in Canada, they know the real deal. Fresh tomato, fresh lettuce, secret sauce that reminds me of In N Out's hybrid thousand island, and default wheat bun. Better yet, portions that are reasonably human sized and designed to create an obesity problem, and poutine! Whereas poutine is a specialty in the USA, it's a standard lifestyle here in Canada. Don't believe me? Google "A&W Canada Menu". Now google "A&W USA Menu". You'll notice that Canada actually has an extensive breakfast menu not to mention an extensive overall menu, while A&W USA focuses on a few menu items that are predominantly beef based with chicken being a mere afterthought. I came here to get a lunch experience and got a Mozza burger with poutine and root beer. For those of you new to poutine or if you're just too lazy to Google, poutine is fries with gravy and cheese. At the time of this review, A&W Canada's website claims that their poutine dish contains 22 g of protein. That's pretty good considering a double cheeseburger at McDonalds USA has 25 g of protein. Poutine comes pretty damn close in terms of protein content. The burger felt light. I know that sounds crazy, since I'm reviewing a fast food place, but I aint' kidding when I say, when I eat at an A&W in the USA and I feel gross afterwards, but here I feel energized at the right amount and can burn it off afterwards on a walk along English Bay just southwest of Stanley Park. Fries, well, fries are fries to me. It takes a lot for a place to impress me with fries, but in poutine form, the gravy and cheese make the dish. Finish with a creamy root beer with light ice, and that's a meal to make me feel content at the end. Until next time, A&W Canada!

    Yuk

Extremely quick service. I tried their new smoked Gouda cheese burger. Not impressed. Very Blain and mushy. No character what's so ever. I brought it back after taking 2 bites and got a refund. I would not recommend.

My very first job at the age of 15 was at McDonald's. I…read moreloved eating the food then. I love it now. Making a McDonald's burger is a science. No, it actually is....literally. The only thing missing in every McDonald's is a microscope. That's the level of precision, and that's why they are the mother of fast food for 70 years. There are two types of McDonald's Restaurants. One is Clean and One is Messy, and no I'm not referring to its floors. I'm referring to how they make their sandwiches. From step 1 all the way to placing it in the bag. This one I like going to when I do decide to indulge in my very sinful fast food crave. Why? Every time I have ordered, it has been tasty, well put together and the proportionality of the ingredients spot on. So, you don't have a soggy, sticky, greasy, messy burger in a paper bag handed to you. I've tried several McDonald's in my area downtown, but they are outright scary. Too much sauce, greasy bag, 2-day old fries and burnt buns.....Yup. Scary. So, whenever I do crave it and I'm in West Vancouver I'll go here. I mean we all know it's not the best food for you, and you can't even speak of quality when it comes to McDonald's, but actually you can.....in a weird sort of way even McDonald's has varying standards and quality control across different stores managed by varying managements. So, why only a 4 out of 5 when it's the one I like the most? My Fries were not topped up. This time.

It wasn't really close to the highway so it took a while to get there and the parking here is a bit funky. Ordering was easy. We lucked out with a spot right by the door and the ambience of the McDonald's rival any other McDonald's I've been to. The servers here seemed very nice for some reason and we're very friendly and took my order. As expected at McDonald's, the food came out very quickly and very hot. We grabbed a table and ate at the restaurant in the meal was great and we were ready to continue on our trip to head home can highly recommend a stop at this McDonald's so party on

I think with this place it's more the attitude, lack of effort and sloppy service that defines this Chipotle. Almost insulting. We ordered two bowls with steak and rice. The serving portions of both bowls were so off that you'd think that one of them was half the serving of the other. There was no one behind us but it was as if we were witnessing a chicken line running out of time. We asked for a cup of water with our meal and they said..."no cup of water, you have to buy a bottle". A restaurant that doesn't give tap water with their order....wow. That, I would have to say is a new species of crap service. The service reminded me of the cooks at the prison lunch-line counter....not that I would know prison lunch...but you know what I mean... The bowl didn't really taste like anything other than sodium. The steak was tough, overcooked, over seasoned, dry and extremely chewy. Interesting. I've gotten an overlying thematic experience with several Chipotles in Vancouver. I wish it were a good one. Yeah, I don't think I'll be going to Chipotles in this beautiful city anymore. #makeyourown.

I don't like Five Guys. This place made me like Five Guys…read more After several other Five Guys locations throughout the years, I decided to remove this particular fast food chain off of my list of indulgences, and the reason was because their burgers were consistently poor and their fries even poorer and cold. This changed yesterday when I tried the one in Park Royal. First thing I noticed was how clean the place was and orderly and the service matched the environment. Friendly and efficient. The Burgers were beautifully put together. Not overcooked and not squashed like most Five Guys, and the fries were the highlight. Stunningly cut and served piping hot fresh. All I gotta say is..... The Park Royal Five Guys made me give Five Guys another shot. Well done.

It is like a war zone every time I come to Park Royal. On one positive note at least the restaurant is well maintained and clean.

Truffle Parmesan fries - steak fry size with an excellent coating of truffle oil and Parmesan cheese. Personally, I prefer shoestring, but these were still very good. The Royal Huntsman House made bison patty, royal blue Stilton cheese, Cajun Hickory, smoked wild, boar, bacon, apple chips, butter, lettuce, tomato, 40 Creek barbecue aïoli, charcoal brioche bun, choice of salad, or fries. The patty definitely could be bigger, given the fact that the rest of the ingredients are "big" and losing sight of what should be the featured layer was a miss. Otherwise, what an impressive plating and wonderfully composed flavors. The tangy blue cheese draws out like a blade and the bacon is to die for. Seafood Chowder Creamy style chowder, shellfish, steelhead, Pacific cod, potato, chive, crispy, bacon, served with baguette. This outdid even the Huntsman - a well packed chowder with generous bites (not bits) of all the above - there was more volume of bites to sort out than actually creamy soup. Incredibly integrated flavors and keeps amazingly well. A five star can't miss dish. Given the venue , ambiance, food quality, menu creativity (they even offered a lychee boba martini), I'm rounding this up to an outstanding five star experience. Next time I would try the duck poutine. Well done - that's all.
