Right in the middle of Stanley Park adjacent to the Vancouver marina. There's a large outdoor tent-covered patio area and it's pretty cool to eat in a structure built in 1911. Truffle Parmesan fries - steak fry size with an excellent coating of truffle oil and Parmesan cheese. Personally, I prefer shoestring, but these were still very good. The Royal Huntsman House made bison patty, royal blue Stilton cheese, Cajun Hickory, smoked wild, boar, bacon, apple chips, butter, lettuce, tomato, 40 Creek barbecue aïoli, charcoal brioche bun, choice of salad, or fries. The patty definitely could be bigger, given the fact that the rest of the ingredients are "big" and losing sight of what should be the featured layer was a miss. Otherwise, what an impressive plating and wonderfully composed flavors. The tangy blue cheese draws out like a blade and the bacon is to die for. Seafood Chowder Creamy style chowder, shellfish, steelhead, Pacific cod, potato, chive, crispy, bacon, served with baguette. This outdid even the Huntsman - a well packed chowder with generous bites (not bits) of all the above - there was more volume of bites to sort out than actually creamy soup. Incredibly integrated flavors and keeps amazingly well. A five star can't miss dish. Given the venue , ambiance, food quality, menu creativity (they even offered a lychee boba martini), I'm rounding this up to an outstanding five star experience. My mom and I stopped in for lunch while exploring Stanley Park. The restaurant is located near the Aquarium and Rose Garden. We initially chose to sit inside, but it was hot and the box fan wasn't doing enough to cool down the dining room so we switched to a table on the patio. The tables had umbrellas, but some of them were positioned in a way where we couldn't adjust them. My mom tried her best to move her chair out of the sun so she could get some coverage from the umbrella. I had the Dragonfruit Breeze Mocktail which was really good and very refreshing! My mom had an Iced Latte which she enjoyed. For my entrée, I went with the Fish and chips. Unfortunately I did not care for my meal. The batter wasn't evenly cooked. Some bites were very soft and doughy while other bites were very crunchy. The fish itself was flaky and tasted good, but the batter kind of ruined it for me. I also didn't care for the coleslaw that came with it. I don't know what kind of dressing was in it, but it had a vinegar after taste that I didn't like. Midway through the meal, my stomach started hurting (perhaps from the oil used to fry the fish). Needless to say, I didn't finish my plate. My mom ordered the Mediterranean Bowl and she enjoyed it. I did not try any of it, but it did look good. Our server was polite, but not personable compared to the other tables in his section. He was attentive in the beginning, but towards the end of our lunch he completely disappeared. He struck up conversations with a gentleman from Australia at one table and a couple from the UK at another table. Meanwhile, whenever he came to our table, he barely spoke. At some point he completely disappeared and we had to flag someone down so we could close out. Apparently our server went on break and didn't let us know. It honestly seemed like he didn't let another staff member know because no one covered for him in his absence until we grabbed another employee's attention. Mediocre food and mediocre service. We came here in April for lunch, and wow, the garden in front of the restaurant is beautiful. We spent the morning at the aquarium and then had a short and easy walk to Stanley's. We had to wait about 15 minutes but the kids loved running around on the lawn and we enjoyed the flowers. The restaurant has a large covered patio and indoor seating as well. I ordered their Mediterranean bowl, which had a nice mix of ingredients and everything tasted fresh. Nothing was too salty or seasoned. I also loved the cherry blossom festival drink special! They had a kids menu and the restaurant is family friendly. There were a few other tables with kids. If you are visiting the area, I would recommend Stanley's. We went here in December during their Winter Lodge re-theming, and it was just delightful with lots of Christmas decor inside and in the enclosed patio and a cheerful fire burning in the hearth. It was the perfect Christmas-time ambience. We actually didn't order any of the special dishes for the holiday theming but stuck with the menu standards and loved everything we had. The spinach artichoke dip was the best I've ever had anywhere with perfect balance of creaminess and a lemony tang and served with nicely spiced tortilla chips. Everyone around us was ordering Lord Stanley's burger, and so I had to try it too, and it was wonderful. A great piece of Wagyu beef with the perfect accompaniments, including nicely melted cheese, bacon, raw onion, and tomato. The Caesar salad was also good and really huge. Their cocktail menu includes dessert coffees; Stanley's Monte Cristo is close to my all-time favorite. So I had them switch out Kahlua for Amaretto and ended up with what we call a Cafe Jessica: coffee, Grand Marnier, Amaretto, and whipped cream. It's the perfect combination. It was cool to find out the same name of Stanley Park in where this restaurant is located, it is named after the same person of this restaurant, Stanley's Bar & Grill, which is also who the Stanley Cup trophy is named after!!! The flower garden is so colorful, the surrounding trees as we ate outside was so green, and the restaurant building was big and cool. My family was a party of six of us. We were seated pretty quickly in the patio area. It was so beautiful outside that we wanted the outside seating. To start off, I had a Maple Old Fashioned. It was a beautifully made whiskey drink, best one I have ever had. We all shared a tortilla chips & spinach Artichoke dip as an appetizer. For my main course, I had the Royal Huntsman Bison burger. This burger won an award in 2023, and I understand why! It was such a great, mouth-watering burger!!! The French fries also came with my burger. They were off the chart good too! Other items ordered in out party was Lord Stanley's burger, Butter chicken, and the Chicken tenders & Fries for my two granddaughters. Everyone seemed very happy as we all tried each other's food. Cute little bar and grill centrally located in Stanley Park! Stopped in on a perfect day after a trip to the aquarium and around the park via horse drawn carriage! Sunny and 75 with NO RAIN!!! Came here with a friend on a Friday around 4:30pm. The garden outside was beautiful and we got to spend time taking pictures of the flowers before going in - we were seated immediately when we entered as well! We only wanted some appetizers as we were just stopping for a small bite so we split 3 appetizers as pictured below. I LOVED the Caesar salad and the spinach artichoke dip sooooo much. The salad had the perfect amount of dressing on it and was so refreshing. The dip came with seasoned tortilla chips and I think I could've ate a pint of that dip for real. DELICIOUS! I wasn't in LOVE with the poutine. This was my second time ever having poutine so I'd still love to give that a try next time I'm in town. It was very rich and heavy, so I think paired with our other appetizers, it was just too much. Would definitely get just that plus the salad next time for better balance for us :) For 3 appetizers, no drinks, we spent about 62 CAD (including tip) and left feeling very full and content. The options from the children's menu we chose were a hotdog (on a toasted and stale bun that was hard to bite thru) and the chicken strips which were approved and shared since the hotdog was a fail. It was a beautiful day (May 3rd), the sun was shining and we sat on their beautiful covered outdoor patio. Our server was so sweet (unfortunately can't remember her name) and attentive. We started with a beer for my husband and Iced Tea for me. The view of the grounds is lovely. We both ordered the House Burger and it didn't disappoint. It was large, so flavorful and cooked to perfection and the fries were equally as good. Our server also pointed us in the right direction of the "totem poles" since there wasn't much signage. We ordered the poutine as a starter based on the fact it had won a Vancouver Foodster challenge. The gravy was very good, as was the cheese curd, however the duck was a little strong to my taste. The Huntsman burger also won a challenge.it was a good burger. The highlight for me was the bacon. In addition we tried the oxtail mac and cheese, which was very good. The food price is relative to the cost of eating in a cabin'esque Bar and grill in the middle of the park but that doesn't mean it's not ultimately worth it. The portions are on the larger side as well and the team of cooks and chef are keeping their choices safe so there isn't anything unexpected. A fireplace and the minimalist decor accented by influential moments and people in time makes for a relaxing place. Except the CAPILANO GROUP's insistence that every single one of its establishments has the same R&B, pop, 90's, gay beach dance party circus or beats drilling a hole in your head. My god, please, for the love of civilization, we do not need to listen to High Hopes sync up with boy bands from my youth with a cranked up beat while we're crunching. What's more you won't let the staff change the music? Throne and the ass that sits on it-- I'm going insane here. You're a restaurant in a turn of the century park with stone accents and cursive writing on your signs- just play some classical until the club opens in six hours. Gah! read more

Stanley Park is HUGE so half way through our walking tour we decided to grab a snack to eat. Emphasis on snack. Well, we greatly underestimated how large the portions of the truffle fries, poutine, and flat bread was going to be. Holy cow. Those three starters were more like three whole meals. They were also really, really good especially the flat bread. The tomatoes on there were so fresh tasting and delicious. Definitely was not expecting this quantity and quality out in a touristy island! Rarely will I say this, but the food is secondary at this location, in my opinion. The main attraction here for me was the beautiful scenery when seated on the outdoor patio (HIGHLY recommend). It feels like you're in a forest while dining on some awesome food. They also have gas heaters there if it's chilly out. Definitely stop by here before, during, or after your trip to Stanley Park but be aware of the enormous portions at least for the starters! read more

A little gem in the middle of HUGE Stanley Park. We were told it may be a 30-minute wait but we're sat quickly when all the parties before us magically did not claim their tables. Vibes 5/5. Beautiful location overlooking a beautiful garden in the heart of Stanley Parl. You can't beat a beautiful summer day in the outside patio of this location. The inside is small anyway, so always pick outside. (The bathroom could use some more attention, but it wasn't the worst I've been in). Service 10/5. Our server was great and attentive. Gave us lots of tips for Stanley Park and always kept our drinks refilled. Food 2.5/5. Nothing was great. The calamari was the best part, and even that was just okay. My sisters soup came out cold. My salmon was over cooked. And our friend ordered a salad with chicken but they traded it out for salmon because they ran out. They didn't ask her, they didn't even tell her until the food came out. She's not a fish eater so this was an automatic let down. This place could be really great if they stepped it up on the food just a smidge. read more

A great place to check out with friends after a day at Stanley Park! We happened to stumble across it after biking around the park. We saw a sign for happy hour and off we went... LOCATION & PARKING // It's located in Stanley Park. There is parking right near the bar but you do have to pay for it. We found it to be easy to find though. SERVICE // Service was super great! All questions were answered and we were consistently treated in a welcoming demeanor. FOOD & DRINKS // Solid through and through. For a group of 5, we decided to share some VEGGIE POUTINE & ONION RINGS. They were delicious and perfect for sharing. We all ordered drinks as well and they were great. Don't waste your time. Lunch service took well over 30 minutes just to be seated. Then another 1.5 hours just for lunch. The server was extremely disrespectful to us and it seemed like he couldn't be bothered to pay any mind to us. Once we got his attention, he walked away mid order after we requested an appetizer. Then we had to call the manager over to order our main dishes since our server was nowhere to be found. Everything took forever and we had to flail our arms for service. The Poutine app made our stomachs hurt and we couldn't finish our mains. The extremely rude server then literally laughed at us for not being able to finish our meal. We arrived at 5:30 and the hostess (who was very sweet) told us that although the kitchen closed at 6:00 we had plenty of time to come in and order. She then sat us at a table...and we waited for about ten minutes before our waiter decided to ask us what we wanted. He seemed genuinely annoyed that we were there. There were a couple of things (can't remember off hand what they were) that my kids (adults) asked questions about-and he flat out told us "it would probably annoy the cook to make that since we are close to closing"...wow...just...wow. Okay then-how about drinks? Yeah, that might annoy the bartender. But-we ordered anyway-cause-WTH? We ordered: Parmesan Fries $10-good. Would have been better off the waiter brought me the ketchup I asked for 3 times...unfortunately it came when we had 4 fries left...so.... Wings-had better. Much better. these had A LOT of vinegar taste to them $9 GF Raviloli...ok. $18 Sirloin cheeseburger-bad. Really, really bad $20 with meh Caesar that was ok Salmon Riso. Nope. this wasn't good either $20 Carrot Soup-awful $10 Seafood chowder-ok $12 HH Lemonades were interesting but weak AF $7 each We never had a refill of waters or Iced teas. Never had anyone ask us if everything was ok-and it wasn't. The soup was inedible and we wanted it taken off the bill-and we would have replaced the soup with something else-if we ever found the waiter while everyone was eating. By the time we were able to get him to stop chatting it up with others-everyone had completed their meals-so why would I want something else? he gave us a hard time to take it off the bill even though it was clearly uneaten. I was not expecting food this good for a place in Vancouver's best public park. The place was not busy around 2 pm on a Saturday, and we were greeted and seated quickly. The menu is fairly simple and easy, a lot of basic comfort foods-burgers, salmon, Mac and cheese, as well as a separate menu for happy hour which we were not on time for. Nonetheless, the options looked good-wings and other simply bar fare. Like most places in Vancouver that are decent, the food was definitely not cheap, most dishes in the 20-30 Canadian dollar zone. Nonetheless, the food was well worth it. I had Salmon with root vegetables. It was nicely marked with char lines, then glazed in a honey mustard sauce, well seasoned and delicious. The veggies were excellent too. Fish and Chips were good too, nicely cooked Pacific Cod, tasty fries, and excellent tartar sauce. Even the Indian butter chicken was good for not being an Indian restaurant. Canada is so impressive-while there are the food trucks in the park selling some tasty grub as well as fast food stands selling burgers and hot dogs, it's really impressive to find great food and ambience inside one of the best parks in the world. If I'm backing in Vancouver in Stanley Park, I would not hesitate to visit this restaurant. read more

I was impressed that the server, Sasha, inquired further once I mentioned that I can't have dairy. Even though the salad has no gluten, he made a gluten intolerance note on the order. A hidden gem in the park!! While walking at Stanley Park, we happen to find this place by accident. What drew us here is a sign in the middle of the park that said, happy hour. 'Nuff said right? We found our way to this bar and grill and decided to sit outside because it was such a beautiful day. It was a great decision to sit outside because the scenery was just breathtaking. I love that we were able to snack on delicious appetizers, sipping on yummy drinks, see little animals running about the trees, and a slight breeze blowing through the air. It was quite relaxing. The bonus part was that appetizers were buy one get one. We ordered the chicken wing plate and the hummus plate. Those were simple but delicious appetizers. My blended virgin lemonade was also very tasty. I know, happy hour called to ask, and I did not order any alcohol. But my party did order beer and they did enjoy it very much. They enjoyed it so much that they ordered two pitchers! I would definitely recommend coming here if you are in the Stanley Park area.
